Dali Taoxi Mengdie Secret Manor,Nurtured by the exquisite landscapes of Cangshan’s Peach Stream, it is an upscale resort manor integrating life aesthetics, local culture and natural healing. Crafted by the owner over more than a decade alongside one of the Eighteen Streams of Cangshan, it stands as a vessel of time and a spiritual sanctuary.
"Zhuangzi Dreamed of Butterflies; dwell in the Peach Blossom Land. Here you reclaim the poetry and freedom between Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake."
Polished through years of refinement, it has evolved from an original secluded mountain retreat into an exclusive hideaway that embraces traditional Chinese culture and local spirit, blending wild luxury with private hot springs. Every corner of the estate is bathed in the breeze of Cangshan, the moonlight of Erhai Lake, and the earthly poetic charm of Dali.
This is no sterile luxury hotel, but an immersive local experience centered on natural healing, cultural immersion and spiritual awakening. Rise early for a hike into Cangshan Mountain, listen to the gurgling Peach Stream, and watch sea of clouds drift over pine forests. Spend the afternoon sipping authentic Dali tea in the Zen courtyard, as sunlight and shadow linger upon Bai ethnic wood carvings. At night, fall asleep to mountain breezes, with a sky full of stars twinkling overhead.
Tucked away in lush gardens, our guest rooms infuse Bai ethnic intangible cultural heritage, local art, yoga meditation and natural healing into every moment of your stay. Every guest may cast aside weariness amid mountains and rivers, find inner peace in cultural nourishment, and reconnect with oneself through healing serenity.
At Taoxi Mengdie, what you encounter is far more than a manor—it is the most authentic way of life in Dali. With Cangshan as your backdrop and the Three Pagodas as your mirror, mountains and rivers as your neighbors and poetry as your constant companion, this is an ideal abode where everyday life turns into a poem.
"Excellent boutique hotel at the fringe of Dali ancient city. Walking distance to the 3 Pagodas, with an excellent view of Cangshan mountain in the background.
Hotel beautifully landscaped, lots of greenery with outdoor seating to relax and listed to birds chirping.
Room was clean and well maintained. Snacks , drinks and fruits refilled daily. Only negative was the extra bed for my child. Very hard mattress and the frame squeaks and groans when someone moves on it. They should upgrade this.
Service was excellent . Six stars! Warm, friendly and thoughtful. Always with a smile and willing to help. We did a little laundry and was drying by the bathtub. Housekeeping noticed and brought in a clothes rack and hung the clothes in the courtyard so it dries better. Wonderful initiative! We did many food deliveries and they happily brought it to our room.
Manager was great also. Always checking if we were ok and ready to provide helpful tips.
Restaurant was good. Breakfast was limited but good quality and sufficient. Dinner was ok as well, local cuisine.
On our departure, they gave us fruits , snacks and water for our onward trip.
Highly recommended"
