"From picking up from the train station, to daily amenities and services, it’s all exceptional. Breakfast spread was so wide it’s unlikely you’ll be able to try them all. Afternoon tea sets with fruits, cookies, tarts and cake was delicious. Attention to details like kid dental sets and in room baby shoe for my son was also so thoughtful. The view is nice, I wished I had booked longer to stay here. Will definitely come back this hotel again next time I come to Dali. The lady 程七七 from the hotel was also very helpful the entire time since before arrival with arrangements till check out. There’s also a small little playground area at lvl 2 of building 2 for small kids to play."

"Excellent stay in Honglongjing hotel. Nested in the heart of Dali ancient town, you will experience Dali's vibrant atmosphere and bustling streets. The hotel's service is impeccable. Service was prompt and we were treated to Chinese tea ceremony. The villa rooms were very spotless.
The only downside was the road closures around the ancient town. This made it difficult to get to the hotel with luggage. You need a 5-10 min walk to get to the hotel as buses and cars are not allowed in the ancient town. Otherwise it was a wonderful experience"

"Had a wonderful stay at Mengling Yayuan Hotel in Dali from 19 to 21 December 2025. The staff were exceptionally attentive and went out of their way to make my visit memorable—from a smooth check-in to thoughtful local recommendations, their hospitality truly stood out. The room was spacious, elegantly decorated, and equipped with modern amenities that made the stay both comfortable and convenient.
I especially enjoyed the daily local breakfast options of noodles or congee, the relaxing afternoon tea, and the delicious desserts served in the evening. As we had an early checkout, the staff thoughtfully prepared a takeaway breakfast for our onward journey, which was greatly appreciated.
Perfectly located just a few metres from the entrance to Dali Old Town, the hotel offers an ideal base for exploring the area. Mengling Yayuan Hotel beautifully blends traditional charm with modern comfort, and I wholeheartedly recommend it for its warm service and excellent facilities."

"The Pullman at Dali wa beautiful, modern and clean. Breakfast was good especially the Egg Benedict by the Chef. The restaurants recommended by hotel were great too. Everything was perfect except one key reminder for all travellers: we went there in December, but heating/airconditioning temperature was centralised and could not be adjusted despite the existence of adjustment buttons. As a result of that and the fact that our room was sun-facing, the room was very hot (28 degrees) and stuffy. What deserved a round of applause was the attitude of Eleven, the Manager of the Hotel. She changed us to a lake facing room and ensured that the airconditioner was off and the windows were opened the whole time. We appreciate her patience and professionalism - thank you.
Tip: if you dont think you would get used to really warm heating, get a lake-facing room and do not turn on the airconditioner."

"趕上春假，導致4月3日從昆明喜來登到昆明站再到大理站坐動車一小時有座+一小時站票，再打車到酒店整整用了6個小時，舟車勞頓疲憊不堪，加上4月3日晚聽信網上宣傳，在大理古城吃飯和孩子畫肖像等體驗極其差。 幸好，有大理王宮酒店超預期的服務和設施及用品，（喜來登的酒店用品沒法用，不是一個層級的）撫平了身心。昨日上午滇池遊玩及今日洱海蒼山一日遊完美收官，中午在洱海邊吃的漁·白族農家菜海稍弓魚，晚上吃了一頓本地人吃的壽慶燒烤（大理古城都是外地人開店騙外地人的千萬不要信網上的）。再回到酒店依舊賓至如歸，還有細節服務給予家人小驚喜，居然贈送緩解疲勞眼貼（看到媳婦買了玻尿酸眼葯水）。遂有山海經行

"We enjoyed our stay here. It was in the quiet part of the old town and close to the road where you could get a taxi out. Very convenient. Service was also great and the staff helped us out with some challenges we had with the Chinese online booking systems eg for train tickets. The soundproofing didn’t bother us so much as it was low season so not a lot of noise. The only tiny thing was that there were ants in the room so you couldn’t leave food lying around and had to be careful where you left your belongings."

"I had a wonderful 3 night stay at this hotel. It is beautifully decorated, and has a lovely well kept garden. The room is spacious and clean, many amenities are included in the room. The view of the lake is so stunning to wake up to. The buffet breakfast was varied and delicious. The service offered at the accommodation is exceptional, our house keeping staff Rourou/ Jack went out of their way to ensure our stay was comfortable - assisting across various parts of our trip from checking to make sure we have everything we need each day, connecting us with a driver as well as helping to bring our luggage down from the 3rd floor. As a person who speaks very little Chinese the staff were extremely accommodating and patient. Would highly recommend this hotel, and if I find myself back in Dali I will absolutely be staying here again!"

We had to cancel one night out of our two-night stay due to travel delays and were prepared to accept the cost due to the short notice, but the hotel staff went out of their way to offer us a refund. The hotel is located very near the Erhai S bay and the view is perfect from our room. The room is very spacious and comfortable and the bathroom comes equipped with a smart toilet seat and outfitted with L’Occitane toiletries. The staff connected us to hotel concierge on WeChat, served complimentary mung bean dessert to our room and offered us tea everytime we had to wait for a cab at the lobby. Having stayed at two separate Hyatt locations during our trip, I must say that we experienced the best service at this hotel during our entire trip in Yunnan and am extremely impressed. We’ll definitely return if we ever visit Dali again.

DDELWYNTI had an amazing stay at Anyu Dali, and their hospitality truly exceeded my expectations. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly helpful, assisting us with our luggage and even coordinating with the Didi driver when we were rushing to catch our railway. They went above and beyond by providing weather updates for our next destination, Lijiang, and noticing that we were unprepared for the cold, they thoughtfully gave us heat pads.
As first-time guests, we were treated to complimentary afternoon tea and breakfast, as well as four free laundry items for washing. The welcome gift was a lovely touch, and they even prepared a warm nighttime drink before bedtime, making our stay feel extra special. What really stood out was their attention to detail—even knowing that we would be staying at Anyu Lijiang next, they arranged to give us our farewell gift there, considering our luggage was already full.
The level of service here surpasses that of many well-known hotels, and I will definitely choose Anyu again the next time I visit China. Highly recommended for those who appreciate genuine hospitality!

Tea time and breakfast were available to be served in the room upon request, and they also provided cleaning services for our clothes.
The team took really good care of us, recommending great food options around the resort and ensuring we were well looked after. They even helped to transport our luggage to the nearest pick-up point so that we could easily book a cab, which was greatly appreciated.
Another highlight was the photography service. The resort engages professional photographers, and we were able to take beautiful photos within the resort as lasting memories of our trip.
Overall, the service was exceptional, warm, and genuine. We felt very well taken care of and would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a comfortable stay with excellent hospitality.

Hotel beautifully landscaped, lots of greenery with outdoor seating to relax and listed to birds chirping.
Room was clean and well maintained. Snacks , drinks and fruits refilled daily. Only negative was the extra bed for my child. Very hard mattress and the frame squeaks and groans when someone moves on it. They should upgrade this.
Service was excellent . Six stars! Warm, friendly and thoughtful. Always with a smile and willing to help. We did a little laundry and was drying by the bathtub. Housekeeping noticed and brought in a clothes rack and hung the clothes in the courtyard so it dries better. Wonderful initiative! We did many food deliveries and they happily brought it to our room.
Manager was great also. Always checking if we were ok and ready to provide helpful tips.
Restaurant was good. Breakfast was limited but good quality and sufficient. Dinner was ok as well, local cuisine.
On our departure, they gave us fruits , snacks and water for our onward trip.

KKatherineliewtanWe stayed at Lishe seaview resort hotel for 2 nights. The hotel upgraded us to a two-room apartment which I did not expect! The apartment had spectacular view of Erhai in the living room and master bedroom. I had the foresight of having one free and easy day and we pretty much stayed in most of the time to soak in the view. The staff service was amazing. The team reached out to me via trip.com the day before we check in (fantastic initiative) as overseas visitors like me are not familiar with the WeChat usage. When we arrive, the staff were on standby to receive us and bring us to the apartment as we got there via our own driver. The hotel sent nightly desert (white fungus) to our apartment. One important aspect of the hotel is the delicious and wide spread of breakfast. The breaky was on the highest floor offering great views of Erhai, and the lady attendant there was polite, cheerful and has great service. When we checked, the hotel staff came to the apartment and send us to the car. They also presented a farewell bag of goodies - including rose Chinese cakes (which were super delicious!), tea and sweets. It was an awfully thoughtful gesture. I had the rose Chinese cake during breaky and loved them. So I was super happy to find them in the farewell gift. I would strongly recommend a stay here if you are in Dali. Fellow Singaporeans- you would love this place! I think even if I did not get the upgrade, I would have loved the view too. Just keep one day of doing nothing and enjoy the beautiful view and the hotel hospitality. The hotel staff were service oriented, always smiling, polite and helpful. Ddeci16I cannot recommend Sunyata Homestay in Dali enough! From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this was more than just a place to stay—it was an experience of genuine warmth and care. The rooms were impeccably clean and comfortable, providing a serene escape after long days of exploring. The afternoon tea and breakfast they served were nothing short of extraordinary. I’ve stayed in multiple 4-5 star hotels across China over the past month, but the gourmet food here easily surpassed them all. Every bite was thoughtfully prepared, leaving me in awe of the flavors and quality.
The location of Sunyata Homestay is also perfect. It’s just far enough from the bustling crowds to remain peaceful and quiet, yet close enough to Dali Ancient City that it’s only a few steps away from great eateries and the heart of the ancient town. The balance is ideal for anyone seeking convenience without sacrificing tranquility.
A special shout-out to the young lady working in the coffee shop up front—her coffee is unparalleled! My husband, who is a daily coffee drinker and rarely impressed, couldn’t stop raving about her brews. It was, hands down, the best coffee we had during our travels.
The staff here deserve every bit of praise. They were attentive, accommodating, and genuinely cared about making our stay memorable. However, what truly sets Sunyata apart is the incredible owner. My father had a bad accident in Dali on a rainy day, and I can honestly say I don’t know what I would have done without his support. Despite my limited Mandarin, he spent an entire day accompanying me to the hospital, ensuring we were well cared for and understood. The next day, he went out of his way to pick up the CT scans for us. His kindness and compassion left me speechless.
The owner’s dedication to his guests is reflected in his amazing team, all of whom go above and beyond. Without his help, I would have had to cut my trip to China short. Instead, he turned a difficult situation into one where we felt supported and cared for like family.
Sunyata Homestay is truly one of a kind, and I will forever be grateful for their hospitality. This is not just a place to stay; it’s a haven of comfort, care, and culinary delights. Thank you, Sunyata, for everything!

After staying in the heart of Lijiang’s Ancient City, it was refreshing to be up in the mountains here—peaceful, scenic, and really fresh air—but still only about a 10-minute Didi ride into Dali Ancient Town when we wanted cobbled streets, fried cheese, rose cakes, and all the amazing food.
We came here for our honeymoon and booked a hot spring villa, and to our surprise, we were upgraded to an even larger villa. The staff also surprised us with a bottle of red wine and a delicious cream cake—a really thoughtful touch that made our stay feel special.
The hot spring itself was perfect. After a day of walking the Ancient City or biking around Erhai Lake, relaxing in the steaming water was heavenly. The villa’s private yard was beautifully designed and made for the perfect chill spot. The whole resort is landscaped with care—gardens, ponds, and mountain views everywhere you turn.
The breakfast buffet was delicious and varied—plenty of choices to start the day right. It was all so nice that we extended our stay by a couple of days because we just didn’t want to leave.
Another highlight is the location right next to the Chongsheng Temple complex. The temples are stunning and absolutely worth a visit, and at night you can even hear the bells ringing, which adds a magical vibe to the stay.
All in all, Clouds Villa was everything we could have hoped for and more. I honestly wish I could live there forever.
