"It is a homestay located just outside of the Dali Ancient Town, so it is very convenient for getting around. The owners are kind and helpful. Remember that no vehicles are allowed inside the Ancient city, so you have to alight outside and walk into the narrow alleyways with cobblestone streets. There are no lifts inside such heritage buildings, so it is advisable to travel light without the big luggages. The owners have 2 cute cats too! It is located away from the noisy streets, so we enjoyed some tranquility away from the crowd."

"The design of the inn was beautiful and the room was clean and comfortable, we had breakfast served during our stay as well. The staff were nice and helpful as well with moving our luggages and answering our questions. The location is also not far from the south gate of Dali Ancient City, and is just a short walk away from night markets and other food options. The only small complaints we had was that the toilet seat in our room was quite loose and room slippers were not replaced on our second and final night. Other than that, it was a great experience."

"The hotel is really well situated, close to the Ancient Town. From the Dali's Railway Station, you can take the bus 8 (~1h & ¥3). Electric scooters were available for rental (¥60 a day for one person) which makes it very convenient to visit Dali and access the Three Pagodas. You can also leave your baggage after check-out. All in all, a very pleasant stay."

"We had a very great stay at Licheng Resort Hotel! The staff and boss were very responsive and helpful throughout our stay, making everything smooth and comfortable. The location is excellent just a short walk to Dali Ancient City, very convenient yet still peaceful. They prepared the specific room type we requested, and the room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. We especially loved that the bathroom has an automatic bidet, such a great detail! Breakfast was delicious and satisfying as well. They kindly received our packages on our behalf, which was very helpful. We also had an issue with our charger adaptor, and they generously lent us theirs. On top of that, they arranged an early morning drop-off to the station for us, which we truly appreciated. Overall, a fantastic stay with warm hospitality. Highly recommended!"

"The hotel is located in the good location, very close to the old town south gate. We tried many times to call the hotel before check-in just wanted to ask for the train station pick-up service but no answer both of the phone call and the WeChat message. Once we arrived, there was only one guy at the reception. However, he did a good job, walked us around the area and explain where to eat. Overall, the service was good. The room has good amenities but only thing we don't like is that they decorate the room with the stone and rock at the floor which might cause the dust and dirt especially for the hyper-allergenic person like us. Overall, still recommend to visit."

"this hotel is super super awesome, location is perfect, located right outside the old town so it's super quiet but still convenient the place itself is stunning. it was recently renovated and done seriously well (they even used hansgrohe in the bathrooms!). my favorite part was the courtyard with the old osmanthus tree and a cool stalactite. it's gorgeous. but the real reason to stay is the people. the owners and staff are the most helpful and friendly crew. the lady owner is impossibly young looking, seriously, my wife said the lady owner looks so young and pretty as if she is 21 years old, d her husband is also an awesome guy, he even invited us to hang out eat and drink with them! they have staff from shandong and dongbei too who are full of great stories and food recommendations. they really pointed us toward the delicious local spots, thanks a lot :) i post modified pictures of their lobby and people, they are super awesome!! quick tip: don't just book the basic room online, try to reach out to them and ask for recommendations or information, they have a ton of different rooms each with unique specialties and they can help you find the absolute best one for your stay i highly recommend this spot!"

VVieraskäyttäjä一般是不評價的，但是入住體驗非常不錯。首先是老闆，真的很細心，提前就詢問我們各種，知道我們是自駕並且開電車，提前把自己的車堵在充電口停車位以防別人來停，周邊車位緊張的情況下我們到了也能立馬停車。其次房間，我們訂的套房，看圖片其中一個房間本以為會很小，但是兩間都很大，並且衞生環境設施真的無可挑剔，百分之90商家客房圖片都會貨不對版，但他們家真的很真實。最後來説位置和服務，位置出街就是一整條小吃街，想吃什麼都有了，離南門很近，其次老闆人很好，很細心，我們聊的很投機，知道我的愛好後還給送了對我來説很珍貴的禮物。兩衹小貓也真的很好擼。總之鎖死。沒得挑。

VVieraskäyttäjäService was fantastic, the host was superb! Place was clean, convenient, and included all that one could need on a vacation. In the heart of Ancient Dali, this was perfect for food, entertainment, and shopping. It is also minutes away from the famous Cangshan mountain, and the host is very considerate in assisting you with any arrangement you'd like, including cabs for railway and airport transportation. I was also pleasantly surprised to find that the room matched exactly the photos that are on the site. Very often this is not the case. So, all in all it was a very pleasant experience at this location. Would definitely stay again and certainly would recommend this to anyone travelling to Dali. As a single female, I found this place to be very safe...especially with a considerate host, who looks out for you!

Rric123The guest house owners were very initiative. They picked us up from the Dali Railway station. The rooms were clean. Since there are 4 of us, 2 adults and 2 kids, we had a big room and a smaller room joined together with 2 large beds. The view was amazing. Upon arrival, it was 4.45pm, and we asked for recommendations of where to eat. However, since it's neither dinner nor lunch time, the owner Mr Hao suggested that we eat in the guesthouse itself. The guest house auntie cooked for us the best rice noodles that we have eaten so far. Springy white noodles in a bowl of hot flavourful broth. My kids slurped it all up and polished the whole big bowl. When we asked for recommendations on local eating places, Mr Hao gave us a whole list of his specially curated food places, which we managed to try 2 of them. And indeed they were good. The downside was that there were no coffee or tea sachets in the room. But they said they will make it for us and can send it to our rooms. They mentioned that they have a tea room. And so we enjoyed the 2 types of brewed puer tea while Mr Hao explained a little about the tea. Personally, I feel that since they have a special tea room to enjoy tea, sending sachet or tea bags would be inappropriate and a disrespect to the art of enjoying Puer tea. Location wise, it has a good view of the lake. And it's quiet. It's not exactly near the old town but we took a taxi (20 mins) to the old town. Thankfully, we didn't stay at the old town as it's way too crowded, and we felt it's a tourist trap. However, near the guest house, there were many highly recommended restaurants. The guest house has a dining area on the 1st floor. One thing that I really enjoyed about this place is the dining area. The lady that cooked the meal for us looked like a typical chinese grandma (which reminded me of my late grandma) that she cooked the food so deliciously with passion. While we had our breakfast she would sit at another table, she wasnt staring , just casually sitting while browsing her phone or ensuring we finish our food but her presence reminded me of when my late grandma would sit and watch us eat to ensure we have no leftovers. Lol. It was an oddly familiar and nostalgic feeling that we laughed about. But we do get the homey feel, which we really liked. The guest house also had a laundry room for guests to use. The guest house owners were very initiative, friendly, and helpful. Anything we need, we just let Mr Hao know, and he would reply. He even offered to send us back to the highway station. It's definitely highly recommended. And I would ask my friends that should they come to Dali, they should stay in this place. It's just perfect for us.

HHafidz Awaluddin⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had a truly wonderful stay at Dali Spirited Away Panoramic Sea View Guesthouse. The caretaker/manager was extremely friendly and helpful, making me feel very welcome from the start. I’m especially thankful for his help in contacting my DiDi driver to retrieve my mobile phone that I accidentally left in the car — his assistance really went above and beyond. The room was great — clean, comfortable, and well maintained — and the panoramic Erhai Lake view was absolutely stunning, making the stay even more special. Waking up to such a beautiful view was a highlight of my trip. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I would love to stay here again on my next visit to Dali. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great views and excellent hospitality!

But no regrets booking this hotel because the service was very impressive, room was clean, many free gifts and amenities were really good. It was a shame that we were only there for 2 short nights. On our first day, we were greeted by the hotel staff with welcome fruits at the lobby. Even though we were assigned to the first floor, the sea views was nice. Room was very spacious and amenities were of good quality. The hair dryer was small, compact but strong and dries well. All towels and slippers are sterilised and individually packaged. We were pleasantly surprised by the AI bots 小度 and 小爱 who kept us informed and entertained. The room was warm during our stay in winter, with separate heaters for the room and shower! There’s also projector to keep us entertained although most shows were separately chargeable. Our room comes with free photography which is a plus. There’s a wide range of outfits to choose from, ranging from traditional clothing to the modern dresses and skirts. The washing machine and dryer at the rooftop were functional and the hotel staff was very patient and friendly in helping us to use it. Rooftop views were breathtaking as well. There’s gym equipments and massage chairs in the basement for use. Hotel kittens were really cute. We told the hotel staff we could not make it for breakfast as we had to catch a flight and the staff was really kind to prepare milk, a whole packet of bread and a bag of cherry tomatoes for us. We cant thank her enough for her kind gesture. We stayed at 3 different hotels throughout our trip and this hotel is the best one. Highly recommended!

Ddeci16I cannot recommend Sunyata Homestay in Dali enough! From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this was more than just a place to stay—it was an experience of genuine warmth and care. The rooms were impeccably clean and comfortable, providing a serene escape after long days of exploring. The afternoon tea and breakfast they served were nothing short of extraordinary. I’ve stayed in multiple 4-5 star hotels across China over the past month, but the gourmet food here easily surpassed them all. It’s just far enough from the bustling crowds to remain peaceful and quiet, yet close enough to Dali Ancient City that it’s only a few steps away from great eateries and the heart of the ancient town. The balance is ideal for anyone seeking convenience without sacrificing tranquility. A special shout-out to the young lady working in the coffee shop up front—her coffee is unparalleled! My husband, who is a daily coffee drinker and rarely impressed, couldn’t stop raving about her brews. It was, hands down, the best coffee we had during our travels. The staff here deserve every bit of praise. They were attentive, accommodating, and genuinely cared about making our stay memorable. However, what truly sets Sunyata apart is the incredible owner. My father had a bad accident in Dali on a rainy day, and I can honestly say I don’t know what I would have done without his support. Despite my limited Mandarin, he spent an entire day accompanying me to the hospital, ensuring we were well cared for and understood. The next day, he went out of his way to pick up the CT scans for us. His kindness and compassion left me speechless. The owner’s dedication to his guests is reflected in his amazing team, all of whom go above and beyond. Without his help, I would have had to cut my trip to China short. Instead, he turned a difficult situation into one where we felt supported and cared for like family. Sunyata Homestay is truly one of a kind, and I will forever be grateful for their hospitality. This is not just a place to stay; it’s a haven of comfort, care, and culinary delights. Thank you, Sunyata, for everything!

TthewanderlustI give 100/100 for the hospitality. The host was very friendly and was ready to help with anything. They also gave us lots of free snacks and hot drinks. Room was spacious, suitable for family. The cleanliness was top tier, with plenty of amenities provided. We have a 3 years old with us, the host was so kind to provide us kids toothbrush and slippers. The location was also very convenient. Only 3-4 mins walk to the gate of Dali Ancient City. Overall, this hotel was very recommended to the fellow tourists like us :)

IIffah RezaliMy first impression: the hotel entrance is at the back of an alleyway, so I doubted it was the right place. However, upon entry to the main compound, it has well-maintained garden of flowers and a fountain. I had a night stay at this hotel. The room is comfy and spacious, albeit the entire place is not that massive — you can only imagine there were at most 6-10 family rooms in a double storey. It has sufficient amenities provided, fairly clean room and bathroom. The bathroom’s divider with the bed area is made of frosted glass, so it might concern some privacy if you’re staying with others within the same room. The room’s floor is made up of woods, thus it might get a bit noisy with its creaking sound. However, they’re aware of the circumstances, earplugs are provided. This hotel’s location is isolated from the ever-busy Dali town, retaining its serendipity. Yet, to go to the famous philosopher stone’s streets is only around 500m. The exceptional hospitality of its people is beyond me! The female cleaner, who knows a chunk of English words, was tenderly caring by providing me bottled waters and fruits each time I’m out of the room. She lifted my backpacks to luggage storage downstairs, and even extra bottled water. The receptionist guy, unassumingly on his first day of work during my time of checking in, is also accommodating, helping me to carry my things upstairs and sort out my room carefully. On my last day, I was rushed to go the train station and he helped to communicate with the DiDi driver about my circumstance since I couldn’t speak fluent Chinese. I’ll come back here again if I’m in China another time!

CCouple on honeymoonThe accommodation resides in the middle of the ancient town, which made it very convenient for us to tour the sights around. The accommodation and the rooms are a traditional ancient town design, beautifully designed around the wood structures, very clean and it gives a very homely feel. When we checked in, the two staffs came out to the main road to help us bring in the luggages. Both rooms we booked were very huge and cozy. One has a spa pool with a mountain view. The staff were ever cheerful and gave us suggestions on where to eat and tour. They also helped us to contact the hotel of our next destination to arrange our transport and our journey went so smoothly. They took care of us very well indeed. Cheers to them !!
