Great location as it was about 7min walk to Ikebukuro Station. The reception was at level 3 along with ice machine, coffee/tea machine, washing machine with dryer. There’s a Denny’s at level 2 where we have our breakfast and 7-11 at level 1. The famous Ichiran Ramen was just across the road and operate 24hr. Overall room was just nice for me and my son as it had everything we need. Able to open up my 28inch luggage (one at a time) as Japan hotel room size is usually small. Not a big issue for me

Viime aikoina asunut Ueno Station Hostel Oriental I Tokiossa, ja yleisesti se oli erittäin tyydyttävä kokemus, varsinkin yksin matkustaja etsii mukavuutta ja arvoa. Suurin etu tästä hostelli on varmasti sen sijainti. Se on vain noin 3–5 minuuttia kävelymatkan päässä Ueno Station, mikä tekee siitä erittäin mukavaa päästä ympäri Tokyo. JR-linjojen, Tokyo Metron ja Keisei Line Narita Lentokentälle, kuljetus oli yksinkertainen ja stressivapaa. Ympäröivä alue on elävä, runsaasti ravintoloita, käteiskauppoja, ja suosittu Ameyoko ostoskatu lähellä. Hostel itse on kapselityylinen majoitus vain miehille. Kapselit olivat kompaktia, kuten odotettiin Japanissa, mutta puhdas ja hyvin ylläpidetty. Jokainen sänky tuli oman valon, virtalähde, ja puutarha yksityisyyden suojaan. Vaikka voit joskus kuulla muut vieraat liikkuvat ympäri, se oli yleensä tarpeeksi hiljaa levätä mukavasti pitkän päivän tutkia kaupunki. Suosittelen tuoda korvakoruja, jos olet kevyt nukkuja. Se ei ehkä ole ylellisyyttä, mutta se on käytännöllinen, puhdas ja täydellisesti sopiva budjettitietoisia matkustajia, jotka painottavat saavutettavuutta ja mukavuutta. Ajattelin varmasti jäädä tänne jälleen seuraavalla matkalla Tokioon.

The location is great. 3 mins walking to the nearest station. Many restaurants and convenience stores nearby. The cleanliness is just acceptable. However they don’t make the beds and clean the room regularly, only throw the trash and change the towels, which is weird. The amenities are quite old and the room is smaller than expected. If you have two kids like us (one 9yo and one 5yo), maybe it’s better to rent 2 rooms. The staff is supportive though, so I rated 4/5 because of the staff. Anyway, if you want a great location to travel around on a budget, this is good. If you need a comfortable stay, should consider twice.

The front desk Myanmar guy intentionally gave me some hard time telling me my English name is different from my legal name which is funny. I came to this hotel 2months ago it was the same guy who check me in and he even mentioned he recognized me but giving me hard time at check in which is something I don’t get?! The dryer is extremely dirty. One Japanese mid age female front desk came over to our room being pushy for checking out saying she will charge us more money after 11:15pm. The late checkout charge didn’t notify at the time of checkin This hotel is overall in a really old condition. The floor carpet is wear out

The room was perfect for our family since everyone had their own bed. The beds were comfortable, which made resting after long days of sightseeing easy. The only downside was limited space if you’re traveling with large luggage. The hotel’s location is very convenient it’s close to the train station and surrounded by plenty of restaurants. There’s also a grocery store and a FamilyMart right outside the hotel, which was very helpful. The laundry area was another nice bonus for families traveling longer. Overall, a great and convenient stay in Ueno.

well located and generally clean, except for you, but well I think it must be difficult to keep clean with the number of people. there are not enough toilets for all the people. The bathrooms are clean, well appointed and airy. The beds are clean and comfortable. Negative point: all the lockers are located in one room, there is a lot of traffic in a room and some guests allow themselves to talk loudly while others are asleep. perhaps they feel that it does not matter since it is not their room

The location is very good, many shops & restaurant nearby the hotel. The service is good. Unlucky, the lift was damaged in the first day when we check-in. The staff is very helpful to send our luggage to our rooms by stair. Work hard!! The room temperature is high as the capacity of A/C is small in such a big room.
