Our stay at Zhouzhuang Zen Yili was absolutely wonderful—a perfect blend of comfort, warmth, and convenience! Taxi can dropped us off within 1 minute walking distance away from Zen Yili. Zhouzhuang ancient village entrance is just a few minutes walk from Zen Yili making it incredibly convenient for sightseeing and activities. The peaceful surroundings of the homestay also added to the relaxing vibe. The hosts, both husband and wife were exceptionally kind and gave us great local tips. They provided us more than enough fresh fruits, tea, biscuits and mineral water. I was surprised also that the room was with full mosquitoes nettings with even anti mosquitoes device provided if needed. During our stay the homestay and its surroundings ware without mosquitoes. The room was spotless, with fresh linens and a cozy atmosphere. The bathroom was of five star standard for its fittings, and was very well-maintained. Before we checked out, we were given delicious homemade biscuits out of their hospitality. They also arranged for us a reliable and comfortable pickup after checked out. For the price, this homestay offered excellent value. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to couples, families, or solo travelers looking for a peaceful retreat in Zhouzhuang ancient village.

The hotel is conveniently located close to the dock. The hotel includes breakfast and can provide lunch and dinner. All dishes are made from local production. The dishes are good. The host and the staff are all very accommodating and try their best to help and are always available. The hotel was fully refurbished when we came. It was clean, well furnished and well maintained. The cost appeared reasonable even during the national holiday. We chose a room with a balcony. The terrasse adds a lot of convenience and is really enjoyable. We used it often. We did spend a pleasant time there. An important reminder comes as the hotel is close, maybe one of the closest to the dock. Therefore the activity around the hotel is intense, starts early and finishes late. This can affect light sleepers and is reinforced by the fact that the island is a heaven of silence. The island is perfect to reconnect to the nature, the slowness of life. We did appreciate our time walking around the island, visiting every small street and enjoying the pleasant view. People are very nice, organisation in the island is good and provides all the necessities. A good place for one or few days stay with or without children.

We were only able to stay at Mulan.Huayue for a couple of nights but my son and I did enjoy our stay very much for several reasons. First, the owners are very welcoming, thoughtful and accommodating - even for two visitors who were a bit tired and grumpy after a long trip! Second, the accommodation itself is very beautifully laid out, and the attention to detail and design including the incorporation of traditional style with modern updates is notable. Third, the water town is charming, quiet after hours, and so relaxing to stroll around. The shops are cute and lovely. We sadly did not have enough time to fully check it out! So sorry. Fourth, all in all, this charming water town being so close to Suzhou and Shanghai makes it a wonderful option for travelers looking to get a rest from the big cities. Thank you!

This trip is travel with my friends, group of travellers who are very particular with accommodation, high expectations. This hotel really out of expectations, very high tech, and great services. Nice environment, strongly recommended

Kimpton Bamboo Hotel Suzhou ei lakkaa yllättämästä minua! Huoneet ovat kauniisti sisustettuja, tilat ovat edistyneet ja palveluasenne on erinomainen. Sopii hyvin työmatkoille ja nähtävyyksiin tutustumiseen. Tämän hotellin tilat ovat vaikuttavia, jokainen yksityiskohta on moitteeton huoneiden siisteydestä vuoteiden mukavuuteen. Palveluhenkilöstön lämmin asenne, erityisesti Cherry vierassuhdeosastolta, oli huolellinen ja sai minut tuntemaan oloni kotoisaksi. Hotellin ruokien ja juomien laatu on myös erittäin hyvä, joten ihmisille jää loputon jälkimaku. Suosittelen! Minulla oli erittäin miellyttävä aika tässä hotellissa. Hotellissa on ainutlaatuinen puutarhatyylinen sisustus. Vappupäivän täyttöaste oli erittäin korkea tuli ulos ja tunsimme, että meidät otettiin jälleen vakavasti. Se oli erittäin hyvä oleskelu sen kokemisen jälkeen, ja suosittelen sitä ystävilleni.

What an unique experience! Nothing could be more authentic than that! Our room is on the first floor right by the water. We saw many women rowing the gondola boats and serenading beautiful songs to their passengers. We came in a low season, so there wasn’t that much crowd. We could stroll around leisurely to take in all the beautiful sights that this place offers to us. The home stay is operated by a couples. They are so friendly, kind, and always eager to help out, especially the wife (Ms. Chan). The day when we left, she helped us getting a didi ride which is more cheaper than the one we hailed ourselves. The room we stayed in is very unique, it is not super big, but it is very clean and it has everything we needed for the night. All and all, I would highly recommend this place to my friends and family.

I arrived in pouring rain. I thought I could walk to my hotel but it was impossible in the downpour. I didn’t want to bother any hotel owner.   I didn’t and still don’t  have an eSIM that can make local  call but thanks to Trip.com, there is a link that I could call the owner for free.  I didn’t advise the owners my arrival time so they were off running errands.  I called the owner to pick me up and thankfully he answered. He was busy but gracious enough to turn around and picked me up. It knew Zhouhuang requires a ticket but I didn’t know that no cars, nor motorcycles, nor bicycles are allowed. Without him I would have arrived the hotel easily.  I always like to meet the owners instead of employees . They were very helpful and answered all my questions. They are honest people who dedicate their  blood and sweat to their business. The owner even offered to walk me to the bus stop  to Suzhou which was my next destination.  This  operates two hotels with 9 in one and 6 in the other. The one that I stayed in with 9 rooms is in a  lively and busy area . Just outside the hotel is a restaurant and there are plenty of places to eat. Inside the hotel is a peaceful oasis where you won’t hear any noise. The location is the best. The other hotel is in a quieter neighborhood a few minutes away. Each of the 15 rooms has it’s own personality, is different and has its distinctive decoration. The owners said they decorated them themselves. I love the decoration and especially the lighting.  After you reserve a room, be sure to contact the owner for the exact address in case you want to arrive on your own. I think it is best to request the owner to take you there because he/she will lead you to the ticket booth to buy tickets. There are a number of bridges so heavy big luggages can be a bit of a challenge .  If you arrive after 5 pm, you can enter free of charge as no one is there to check your ticket. . But once you are inside, and if you choose to leave the area after 8 or 9 am until 5 pm, you have to pay to come back in. You can buy a one day or in my case 3 days pass.  Do check with the owner for up to date information.  The room was quite clean. There were hot water all the time. There were other guests during my stay but they were not noisy at all. I barely heard them. I slept very well during my 3 nights there.  Zhouhuang is really beautiful. There are many canals, bridges, boat rides, good food of all kinds. I had some of the best meals there. In fact , I ate in the same restaurant that serves dumpling twice. One night I had grill (BBQ) meat just outside the entrance for 4 yuans. .  There is decent size supermarket just outside the turnstile and not too far away is a much bigger supermarket. It was there where I bought half a Peking duck for only 32 yuans . The seller sliced the meat and separated the meat from  the bones. The bones he fried so it was crunchy.  It was delicious. There is a theater that offers performances. The night view is great. If you step out your room, you will be overwhelmed in a good sense by the exciting surroundings.  This hotel definitely is one of the best that I have ever stayed in. Look at the beautiful pictures and find one that you like.  I stayed only 3 nights and one of those days I went to Tongli. In my opinion, one should spend at least 2 to 3 full days in  Zhouhuang (and especially this hotel ) savor the ambience. I don’t think Tongli is worth the time because it was twice as expensive and there are not that many canals and boat rides. It is much quieter and has fewer things to see. . The worst is that the sightseeing places require you to show your ticket. After 2 places, I lost mine ticket and I  couldn’t get in the rest of the places. It is unnecessary to require proof of entrance because you can’t enter the area without a ticket. 

Location was good if you dont mind the entrance it’s just at the busy street. Night time super crowded at entrance area but it does not affect us. Very convenient to go for food and shopping street. Staffs very friendly and helpful. Free breakfast is local simple 9 grid box with millet porridge. The main street near entrance will be closed around noon time or later depending on the tourists crowds. The free cruise ticket really worth to go. Whole journey about 50mins boat ride. Room very spacious and clean. My room is at almost end of the area and facing river. The cruise boat docking area just right outside of our room. normally is before 10pm.Noise level very minimal. Overall we had a good stay here.

Our trip to Suzhou was way more memorable thanks to this amazing accommodation! Our big family from the youngests to the oldests were very impressed by how spacious and beautiful this house is. All of us were upgraded to bigger rooms than the ones we booked, some even had private courtyard/ corridor and each room was given such a beautiful name ”Looking at the rain”, ”Waiting for the moon”, ”The faraway scent”... This ancient house has beautiful features that were elegantly preserved while modern touches such as huge screen TV, smart toilette, and good lighting system make it more relevant and convenient. There's a lot of info on this house's long history displayed around - one more reason to admire it. What a good example of preserving and embracing cultural values! Eventhough there was a significant language barrier, thr staffs were really really generous, supportive, warm, and lovely just like the big breakfast meals they prepared for us every day. We hardly find any reason not to choose this place again the next time we come back to Suzhou!

Our stay at this Suzhou apartment was nothing short of perfect! As first-time visitors, we were blown away by the incredible value. The location is great, just a quick 5-minute walk from the MRT, which made exploring the entire city effortless. The apartment itself was exactly as described: spotlessly clean, surprisingly spacious, and equipped with everything we needed. The highlight for us was the big projector screen; winding down each night with Chinese dramas was a unique and fun experience. Having a washer and dryer in the unit was also a huge convenience, allowing us to pack light. The true standout was our host. She was exceptionally helpful, providing a personal recommendations.
