"The hotel is conveniently located right next to Budapest Keleti train station, making it easy to travel around the city. It’s only about five tram stops to the city centre, and there are plenty of supermarkets and restaurants nearby. If you get a room facing the main road, you’ll also enjoy a great view of the train station. However, there are some downsides. The air conditioning doesn’t work during autumn and winter, so the only option for ventilation is to open the window. Unfortunately, the hotel is extremely noisy since it’s right next to a main road where police and ambulance sirens go off very frequently, making it hard to rest. Additionally, luggage storage isn’t free—you have to pay by the hour, which feels a bit inconvenient. Overall, it’s a great choice for location and convenience, but not ideal if you’re looking for peace and quiet or comfort in cooler seasons."

"Carlton Hotel Buda Castle - A Location Lover's Dream! My recent stay at the Carlton Hotel Buda Castle in Budapest was largely defined by its absolutely awesome location. For anyone looking to immerse themselves in the historical heart of the city, this hotel is a fantastic choice. Being just minutes away from both the majestic Buda Castle and the picturesque Fisherman’s Bastion was a huge plus. I particularly appreciated the convenience for early risers – those who wish to view the stunning sunrise and enjoy the area before the crowds arrive (potentially with free entrance before official opening hours) will find this hotel incredibly convenient, as it's just a short stroll away. Furthermore, the hotel's location also allows for a pleasant walk to the viewing area across the river from the Parliament building. Seeing the illuminated Parliament at night from the opposite bank was a memorable experience, and it was easily accessible on foot from the hotel. The room itself was cozy and comfortable, providing a welcome retreat after a day of exploring. The bed was comfortable, and the room had everything I needed for a pleasant stay. However, there was one notable downside: the soundproofing could be improved. I occasionally heard noise from neighboring rooms and the hallway, which sometimes disrupted the otherwise peaceful atmosphere. Overall: Despite the minor issue with soundproofing, I would still highly recommend the Carlton Hotel Buda Castle, especially for travelers who prioritize location above all else. Its proximity to key attractions like Buda Castle and Fisherman’s Bastion, along with the easy access to sunrise views and the Parliament panorama, makes it a truly convenient base for exploring the best of Buda. If you're a light sleeper, bringing earplugs might be a good idea, but the unbeatable location truly makes this hotel a strong contender for your Budapest stay."

"Location is not exactly in the heart of the city, but it is not far away. Very clean and I personally love the facility and design of the hotel, the cherry on top is the heart warming service, overall definitely worth the price if you want a comfy and classy place to stay it's the one, but if you want a room with river view, maybe go with Intercontinental or marriot but their appearance does not look to nice"

"Der Service im Hotel, vorallem an der Rezeption, war super. Pro Zimmer/Aufenthalt gibt es eine Flasche Wein gratis. Zum Geburtstag gibt es noch noch zusätzliche Flaschen. Die Lage war gut, ein LIDL war genau neben dem Hotel. Der Härtegrad der Betten war gut,jedoch eher härter. Das Frühstück war gut. Preis-Leistung war wirklich super. Die Zimmer sind teilweise hellhörig und im EG nur mit einem Minifenster. Vor den Zimmern im EG befindet sich ein Zitzbereich sowie eine Bar. Ich würde dies beim nächsten Mal angegeben, dass lieber Zimmer im OG bevorzugt werden."

"Altho pricey, everything was nearly perfect. Except for housekeeping who didnt clear debris and hair from the shower drainage. So for 2 consecutive days, we had to shift to the bathtub in the middle of the shower. The bottom of the toilet was also uncleaned properly. Spa, gym and most of all the New York Cafe was an experience to stay in the hotel for. No need to queue."

"Overall, our stay at the Mercure Budapest Castle Hill Hotel was okay as there were some areas that could be improved. The hotel front area had a warm and inviting ambience, which was nice. Upon arrival, we requested a top-floor room, but the staff recommended keeping our current room as it offered a better view. We appreciated their insight and decided to stay where we were. The hotel’s location was decent—about a 20–30 minute walk to the city area, making it manageable. The bedroom itself was spacious and comfortable, providing plenty of room to relax. However, the bathroom and toilet were quite small, which made them feel a bit cramped. Additionally, while the room was clean, the bathroom was less so. We noticed hair left behind, and there was little to no body wash gel provided. The towels were dirty upon arrival, requiring us to request new ones on the first day. One frustrating experience was with the housekeeping staff. On our second morning, we wanted to sleep in, but were interrupted twice—once at 10 AM and again at 11 AM—by a cleaner knocking to check when we would be leaving. When I confirmed that the checkout time was indeed 12 noon, I didn’t understand why they felt the need to rush us out. It felt unnecessary and a bit intrusive. Despite these issues, our stay was generally fine. If the hotel could improve housekeeping efficiency, ensure cleaner bathrooms and amenities, and provide a bit more space in the bathroom area, it would be an even better experience."
