"スタッフの皆様がとても親切で、毎日心地よく過ごさせていただきましたありがとうございました。 清潔感のあるクラシカルなホテルで、ゲストの方も落ち着いた方々が多く、とてもリラックスできました。日中は観光に出かけてしまいましたが、次回はラウンジのベランダでゆっくりするのも素敵だなと思いました。 朝食ビュッフェも美味しかったです。 私はカレーとシチューが気に入りました。 公共の交通機関で箱根に来たため、桃源台からホテルの無料の送迎シャトルが夕方まで出ていたのでとても助かりました。また、チェックアウト後の桃源台までのシャトルの送迎も助かりました。 ホテルの近くにもバス停のようなものがあったので、次回はバスのダイヤなども調べてより柔軟に観光ができればと思いました。 周りにはレストランが無いように思えたので、次回はその辺のリサーチもしようと思います。"

"Check in took quite some time as there were many guests checking in at 3pm. The hotel has a western ryokan feel. It has 2 onsens which they alternate between men and women and I suggest going to both. The one on level 5 has a waterfall view. Dinner was buffet style and the variety was great. I super love the fresh Sashimi, the miso soup, the tempura and sushi, snow crab etc. Room was clean and spacious with our own outdoor Onsen bath. Would love to come back."

"The entrance is right in front of Gora Station, so transportation wouldn't be an issue. Plenty of shops and places to eat around the station, but they close pretty early. The front desk staff can speak English and explained everything clearly, from the type of onsen, the bathing hours, meals, and how to get to our rooms (it was in a separate building). The onsen are great, the outdoor private bathtub is great, but the water cools off pretty quickly in winter. The room is very spacious and they also provide an extra futon. I could do a bit of work comfortably in the rooms while resting. They have a bunch of amenities at the lobby, you could make tea, coffee, get some ice cream and bring them to your rooms. The breakfast and dinner were very delicious. You need reservations for meals since the seats are limited."

"Beautiful hotel with a really large, clean and comfortable room. Appreciated the complimentary drinks in the room, and at the foyer (in the morning) and bar (during happy hour). Lovely view of Mt Fuji across the lake as well, worth every penny. Unfortunately Mt Fuji was covered by clouds for most of our trip, but the only time we were able to see it mostly in full was at the hotel. Onsen experience was also great; while it was a public onsen, other guests did not really use it, which was a real shame as there was a jacuzzi and outdoor onsen inside. Only downside was the central air conditioning which made the room feel a bit too warm after coming back from the onsen, but otherwise still a comfortable stay."

"We stayed at the Mixed dormitory and it was so comfortable. At first we were hesitant but the installations are so good. The shared bathrooms are impeccable, the shower is so clean and big. The bed was so comfortable The best part of this hostel is the staff, they are the sweetest and they're so helpful. We loved the onsen and we also got the morning breakfast. I would absolutely recommend. The people I stayed with in the mixed dormitories were pretty chill, so we didn’t have any issues sleeping or leaving our stuff there."

"I would really love to visit again. So conveniently located at togendai port. Just 5mins walk from back exit. Staff are international and speaks good english. Love the food and free flow alcohol at buffet. I booked private onsen for my family 3000yen for 40mins. Clean and comfortable. There is shuttle bus service from odawara station. Taked abt an hour. Prebook with the hotel for the shuttle bus to and from odawara. It's probably a lil pricey compared to other hotels but it's not the most expensive and I think it's worth it."

"interesting balinese onsen ryokan. service was great, i couldn’t take raw food and my husband is allergic to prawns and they took notice for it and didn’t serve them during our half board meals (breakfast and dinner). the onsen water is certified to be natural and we could read the details of the certification from both the hotel reception and room toilet. the private in room open air onsen’s temperature can be adjusted as well. however the room’s shower’s door was not completely sealed and we found it very chilly to bathe even tho there was hot water supplied as the constant cold air from outside would come in. hope the hotel can take note of this and seal up the showering area’s door completely to prevent air from exchanging during shower. it’s a jap-balinese fusion hotel, pretty interesting concept. we drove during our trip around hakone area and be ready to navigate through very small and narrow roads while driving to this ryokan haha. really very narrow roads. hotel also requested for us to pass them the car key when we returned to the hotel, and to pass them the hotel key when we are heading out, which we found to be a little weird to be honest."

"Nice ryokan with modern hotel vibes. Very good that they provided a free shuttle from the hotel to Hakone yumoto station. Note that the shuttle from the station to hotel is only from 2-6pm and the shuttle from hotel to station is only in the morning. But fits the usual check in and check out time. The room was spacious and great. Service was good and kaiseki meals were very delicious. There was also a public onsen which wasn’t crowded especially at night. The rooftop view is nice too"

VVieraskäyttäjä華人友好，有台灣、香港（Miss 馬服務不錯👍）服務生，態度很好，熱情。 酒店套房設計，挺新，不是傳統温泉酒店，帶有些商務休閑氣息。 唯一要扣分的地方，洗手間有點味跑到房間了。床一般，睡得沒有白檀踏實。 勝在於綜合評分高。

TTim NazarovWe were looking for onsen with private bath on the balcony and probably hit the sweet spot. Unfortunately we had only 1 night stay, but it was fantastic. Onsen is located at the top station Gora, where you can get from Odawara. That’s around 2 hours from Tokyo all together, around 3 hours from Kyoto. Last 2 sections of the way are going through a picturesque steep railway. Views are great! Be sure to rush to the front or back seats (doesn’t matter which) to secure a spot for nice photographs. Private bath is fantastic, rooms are clean and spacious with a touch of ryokan style (tatami etc). That’s a perfect place to sit and relax doesn’t matter it’s sunshine or pooring rain outside. The food was fantastic (according to my wife), however the options are limited if you’re not eating fish or sea products due to allergy or other reasons. For Karaku team - I would suggest adding a signature wagyu set for those who would like something else. Selection of wine and alcohol drinks is superb. Free snacks and coffee are available till 8 p.m. as well with a view terrace. For those who like some regular conbini stuff - Lawson is around 10 mins walk with Miyazaki style trains passing by👌🏻 All in all, we wish we had stayed at least 2 nights as there are lots of activities around.  Thanks to Karaku staff for a warm welcome and tailored experience!

The only bad thing is that it is very far from the major town. You have to drive out for food. Once you buy your snacks and drinks in advance, then it will be all good.

VVieraskäyttäjäOverall an ok stay. A bit hard to find, very limited English spoken by the staff which led to some confusion (even for the representatives who were assigned to us by English speakers). Felt quite formal and not that warm Room was more or less as expected, and the dinner and breakfast meals were quite elaborate. Felt that breakfast was actually the stronger meal of the two, so wasn’t necessarily worth it to pay extra for dinner. I’d likely skip doing dinner in the future. The room attendant who helped us was very kind and attentive, although we had a bit of language barrier given we don’t speak Japanese. The big disappointment was even though the ryokan is advertised as allowing guests to book one of the larger hot springs on the property for private use for 45 minutes, we weren’t able to do this. We arrived within the designated check in time and were told that it was all booked up for the day. There was no way to book in advance and we were only staying for one night, and they didn’t try to accommodate allowing us to book at all for the next day before checkout. This really hampered the experience overall - we weren’t that interested in using the gender segregated facility (was traveling with my partner who is the opposite gender) as we wouldn’t be able to spend time together, and the tub in our room was quite small. They should amend this policy to allow all guests to book a private hot spring time or not advertise it as part of the room! Feels like we got cheated out of the service and we weren’t offered anything else as an alternative. I would have booked another ryokan had I known this were the case - there are many others in Hakone which are much better value and have nicer / newer private facilities for around the same price. I wouldn’t recommend Yama no Chaya given this was a big part of what we thought would make it a good experience

NNyxtManaged to get on the last boat ride across Lake Ashi and was there in time for the hotel shuttle pick up. It was pitch dark out around 5pm during Japan's autumn however the hotel lobby is cozy and inviting, one that is full of history. The friendly front desk handed me a key with a large wooden key chain, and I checked out the large room prior to my dinner timing. There's a door to partition the bedroom and toilet/entrance area which felt nice. Dinner was a set menu and one that was filling. There are ice machine dispenser at the male onsen level and female onsen was on the highest floor. There's a lift that brings you to right outside the spa so visitors won't have to walk across the lobby area in their yukatas. Onsen was clean and spacious, there's a shower area to clean up, a sauna, outdoor and indoor onsen. Dressing room area has all the amenities you need and the ice popsicle after onsen is a nice touch. Woke up the next morning to catch the sunrise and caught a nice view of golden rays spewing across Lake Ashi, the garden and the glorious Mount Fuji right from my room. 100% recommended staying at this hotel! Had a super filing Japanese breakfast and checked out to explore the rest of Hakone.

AANASTASIIA_BERDNIKOVAThis hotel is a paradise in the mountains of Hakone! Traditional style of the rooms - it feels like you are living in a Japanese family. We were prepared a traditional dinner, which was served in our room. It was very tasty and varied! The hotel has 3 onsen: 2 - private, 1 - public. We visited only the private ones (you need to book a time in advance at the reception upon check-in, the visit time is 30 minutes). It was wonderful! The hotel also provides a transfer from and to the nearest train stations. The rooms are clean, cozy, we slept on tatami under soft blankets. The hotel has a relax room. With massage chairs and a very quiet atmosphere. We stayed in this room after visiting the onsen and got great relaxation. And you are also given national clothes for rest and sleep. It is very beautiful and cute. Breakfasts were also in kaiseki style - varied and unusual. The hotel staff is very kind and friendly. this hotel allows tattoo baths. great experience, thank you very much! want to come back again!

VVieraskäyttäjäOur stay at the hotel was overall excellent, and we would still highly recommend it, especially for couples looking for a pleasant getaway. Almost everything was perfect—the room was clean and comfortable, the facilities were great, and every other staff member we encountered was polite and helpful. It’s truly a lovely place to spend time together. However, our check-in experience was noticeably unpleasant due to one staff member. She came across as unwelcoming and impatient, almost as if we were bothering her. She rushed through the process and felt quite pushy, especially when repeatedly questioning which language we preferred—even though we tried communicating in both Japanese and English. Her attitude made us feel uncomfortable and somewhat unwanted at first. Aside from this one incident, everything else was wonderful. We hope the hotel addresses such front-desk service issues so that future guests can enjoy a consistently welcoming experience from start to finish.

EEtienne Gagnon-DesmaraisHotelli sijaitsee erinomaisella paikalla. Olimme Hakonessa Onsenille (hotellin kevät), ja hostelli oli lähellä monia heistä. Henkilöstö oli erittäin hyödyllinen ja innokas. hostelli tarjosi myös mielenkiintoista illallista, mutta emme ole yrittäneet sitä. Rakennus ja sisällä näytti hyvin japanilainen perinteinen. Paljon arvostettu sukeltava kokemus Japanissa!

VVieraskäyttäjäWe got to the hotel in the beautiful location just before 3pm and we got given a little tour of the place and then got shown to our room. The staff are very friendly and do their best to speak English. A lovely lady was in charge of our hospitality throughout our stay and she first showed us that there is a public hot spring and a private hot spring and asked us if we would like to book a time to use the private hot spring, we booked a time as we checked in but then we didn’t use it as we were happy with our private hot spring in the room. We also booked a time for dinner and they arrived at that time Promptly with A LOT of food. We also got a choice for a staple food and we chose some steak which was high quality and delicious, as well as the lobster (on the menu it said grilled prawn but a lobster is what came and it was delicious). We ordered a few beers and a bottle of wine with room service and it always came quickly and was nice and cold. The private hot spring is absolutely boiling but it’s a good experience and there’s ice water provided which helps. Breakfast came at 8.30am and it was also huge! It didn’t come with coffee but I ordered some and that was easy enough. The lady who served our food explained every dish and how to eat it and she was always extremely friendly and attentive. Would recommend!
