"We stayed in this hotel as a couple for 4 days during Chinese national day holiday. We booked east wing rooms and the room decorations is a bit old but room is very comfortable and big. Hotel location is great and only 10 minutes walk to Zhongshan Square and subway. There is lots of restaurants and shopping malls near hotel. The breakfast is not very reach in Western foods."

"Room was fine, some minor problems include malfunction plugs (at least 2 in my room) and leaked shower pipes . Location was bit far from city centre , takes longer rides to downtown or other attraction sites. Wanted to booked at xing hai square but mistaken took it at xing hai park :(. However, amenity included a free laundry service is a bonus :)"

"Very good, polite, friendly service. Rooms in one wing of the hotel are very spacious and more fresh than in another one. Decent breakfast. Convenient central location with the local food street right next to it and other sightseeing spots in a walking distance. Nice price to quality option. Definitely recommend."

"We stayed at Novotel Dalian Zhongshan as a family, and chose it largely because it’s a newly opened hotel (2025). While the location felt slightly less central than we expected, it was hardly a drawback—taxi fares are very affordable, making it easy to get around. Having a convenience store on the first floor was also a real advantage, especially for families. The room itself was immaculately clean, exceptionally spacious, and paired with a beautiful view, it made for a very comfortable stay. We were also genuinely pleased with the fruit and beverage service, which felt thoughtful and welcoming. One more highlight: the delivery robot was fascinating—no matter how many times we saw it, it still felt surprisingly cool and memorable! Overall, a modern, well-maintained hotel that we’d happily recommend to families seeking comfort and a touch of something new."

"I will start with the positive and say that the resort is located on a hill facing the sea and some mountains so I was happy that I had a good view from my room window. The balcony was an added bonus, but although I went for a deluxe double room, there was nothing deluxe about it! I stayed in 3 & 4 star hotels in China that they were not much different than this room I was given. The staff were very polite and accommodating, but most of them had very little English or no English at all - had to use a translation app or repeat/rephrase a few times (Chinese & English are the spoken languages according to the website). The wifi is very weak so I kept using my own mobile data. The rooms are not sound insulated so I kept hearing the banging of nearby doors and people passing or stalling/talking along the corridor. In a nutshell, the amenities and service offered do not compare to the experience I had at Hilton hotels elsewhere. It is definitely not good value for money. Disappointing."

Only the guys at the reception speak good English and all questions had to be resolved with them, including the restaurant menu - no one in the restaurant, even with my use of a Chinese online translator, could help me with questions about the menu and when I asked the person at the reception to help me understand the menu, it turned out that the kitchen could not cook either the first course from the menu or the second. With dietary restrictions and allergies, you can die of hunger here. I consider it unacceptable to have non-English-speaking staff in a franchise of an English establishment. The cook at breakfast talks on the phone right at the place where food is prepared during breakfast. The dishes at breakfast are either not named at all or are named only in Chinese. There was no seller in the store at the hotel no matter how many times I went in to buy a T-shirt. In the end, I tried on what I was interested in at the store, chose it and went to the reception to pay for it. The next day, a salesperson appeared in the store and told me that the T-shirt I bought the day before had a 20% discount for a month, but when I paid for it, I paid it full price and thus I was deceived by 20% of the cost of the T-shirt and did not give any receipt. The pool is very small and not deep for such a huge hotel. If there is someone else in the pool besides your partner, there is not enough space. The sea near the hotel is dirty. Nothing is suitable for swimming - there are no sun loungers, there is no space on the beach specifically for the guests of the hotel. The beach is across the road from the hotel. There was only one coffee machine at breakfast and it didn't work both days. You could ask a restaurant worker for coffee. The hotel by the way has a cool energetic staff and that's nice. The room cleaning is high-quality. There are renovations going on at the hotel and guests can't use all the hotel areas."
