Spending a night at Changdi Inn, nestled in the heart of the historic Hongkeng Tulou Cluster, was truly one of the most unforgettable experiences of my Xiamen trip. The inn is located within a centuries old Hakka earthen building, and the moment you step inside, you will be instantly transported back in time. The stay offers an immersive look into traditional Hakka culture and architecture, surrounded by thick earthen walls, wooden beams, and antique details that speak volumes of the past. What mak it extra special was meeting the friendly innkeeper, a 6th generation descendant of the family that built and preserved this Tulou. He shared stories and local insights making the whole experience even more meaningful. The room was simple yet clean and comfortable, blending rustic charm with basic modern comforts. I got to enjoy authentic Hakka meals, lovingly prepared and bursting with homestyle flavor, perfect after a day of exploring. Waking up in the peaceful village setting, watching the locals go about their daily lives, and hearing the birds chirping outside, it's a rare, soulful escape from the city.

Room - my room faces the magnificent Guan Zhai Shan. Every morning wakes up to a scenic view of lush greenery and mountain Location - near to the Guan Zhai Shan entrance. We took a DiDi taxi there which costs about Rmb12. The hotel is also near to the city which is less than 10 mins by DiDi taxi Service - attentive and respectful services at the front desk Hotel amenities - new and luxurious with a nice swimming pool and spacious lobby Atmosphere- very relaxing, spacious and enjoyable feeling Breakfast- last a good variety. Quality of food is generally ok Restaurant - serves delicious Hakka food Overall we had a very enjoyable experience

The hotel is at a good location but not the hotel cos almost all the didi don’t come in to this alley and not aware of this hotel Hotel is very pretty and room is very nice There’s a free pickup from the train station which is very nice and plus point for the hotel However the staff needs more training in terms of their services and professionalism. Their standard is obviously not at the hotel’s level. When I reach on the first day, the young lady and gentleman that assist us with the check in is nice and friendly. However after that it’s always an older plump lady that is at the front desk during the day and her attitude doesn’t makes me comfortable. I was writing something to pass to her and she keep rush me to be faster and the way she talks makes me feels as if I’m at a market instead of hotel. And also the aunty that manned the laundry area. When I was washing my clothes around 3-4pm, she said I occupied both laundry pod and other ppl can’t wash it. I told her nicely that I will come and take out the cloth on time. I mean there’s so many ppl that leave their clothes in the laundry and dryer pod after clean and dried for hours or overnight. Doesn’t that occupied the pod as well and others cant use it? Then she still continues to nag and said me about using both pod. Once again I told her nicely the same statement. Then she continues again and keep repeating the same thing to me over and over again and I snap back at her only she stop. What’s wrong with her? There’s a saying 给你脸 你还蹬鼻子上脸了？以为我很好欺负吗？Please give more training to both of the staff so they don’t ruined the reputation of your hotel. And there’s a staff that told me to pay for the lost card. I misplaced a card before with other hotel and never been told to pay for it. They just simply void the card. It’s only 10-20 rmb which is not a lot tho but it really ruins my impression for this hotel. I mean this hotel is very pretty and I would love to stay there again if I’m visiting Lonyan again but with this kind of staff around, I will think twice before deciding my stay next time. I stayed Wanda and Fliport Hotel in Lonyan before and the price for these 3 hotels doesn’t difference much but their staff definitely handle customer with more professionalism and better attitude

Beautifully designed and renovated earth building! It was nice to get to stay in one of the tulous itself. We rented the whole building of 6 rooms for our family. All rooms are on the 2nd floor. 5 out of 6 rooms have a bathroom that is on a separated floor from the bedroom. There’s only one room that has bathroom on the same level as the bedroom. So, it may not be ideal for the elders. The hotel is situated in a quiet residential area. There’s a small stream of river flowing in front of the house throughout the village. Very serene. We got to see locals living their usual lives, farming and picking crops. However, it’s a bit far from any main tulou sights. The staff were very nice, but lack knowledge of the attraction sights.

Enjoyed our 3 nights stay in this family run hotel just next to the Tulou. Had a nice river/mountain facing well equipped room with projector TV, wireless charging side table and v.comfy beds. Boss and his 2 nephews were most hospitable and offered their utmost assistance to us. . Everyone were super friendly and sociable. Hakka food is pretty good at the hotel and they do BBQs during the summer months outside at their patio , great to chill & socialise with the locals over a drink or 2 . They even had fireworks. Highly recommend to take the hotel package inclusive of the tulou night show plus a hotel set dinner.

More than a Stay - A Warm Family Welcome in the Heart of the Tulou! From the moment we arrived, we were treated not as tourists, but as guests of the family. The hosts – the Father, Mother, and their Son – are the soul of this place. They are incredibly friendly and go so far above and beyond to make your stay comfortable and special. The Son was our main point of contact and coordinated everything for us with great patience. He arranged our visit to the magnificent 振成楼 (Zhencheng Lou, the ”Prince of Tulou”), with Mother sharing fascinating stories about its history that you won't find in guidebooks. But where this family truly shines is in their genuine care. As overseas visitors, we were completely unfamiliar with local transportation and booking systems for our next destination. The Son sat down with us, helped us navigate the Chinese online systems, booked our train tickets, and gave us detailed instructions for the rest of our journey. He spent a significant amount of his own time to ensure we were set up for success, which was a gesture we will never forget. The homestay itself is a wonderful experience. The room was clean and comfortable. Decent simple home-cooked breakfast with the family was priceless. In summary: · Hospitality: Unmatched. The family's kindness is the #1 reason to stay here. · Authenticity: A true Tulou living experience. · Convenience: Perfect location for exploring the nearby Tulou clusters. · Value: Worth every penny for the personal service and care. オーナーはとても優しい人でした！ 宿はエアコンがありませんでしたが、扇風機があり、夜は意外にぐっすり眠れました。外国人が土楼の中に泊まれる宿で、すぐ近くに承启楼や他の土楼もあるのでアクセスも便利でした。私達は龙岩站から公共バスで行きましたが承启楼前で降りたら宿までは歩いて5分くらいで着きます。泊まれる土楼は他にもありますが、ここのオーナーは本当に優しく、旅の相談を色々アドバイスをしてくれました。とてもおすすめです！つぎもまたここに泊まりたいです。

A strategically located hotel which is within walking distance of distance to many interesting places. Food is easily accessible and yummy. Night scenery is great with multi coloured lighting. Nice to walk around and enjoyed watching people dancing in the open spaces. Local herbs are also available if u are interested in local Chinese herbs for brewing tea and herbal soups. During the day it is nice to walk around early in the nearby walking streets where u can find interesting architecture of the olden days. Well kept but can do with more explanation about the history and info about the local culture and customs. Great place for taking instagram photos.

The hotel was perfectly located across the road from the Prince Tolou and just a short walk to the evening bon fire show. I loved the country feel about this location! The owner helped arrange a driver for me to collect me from the train, drive me to a number of locations, and return me to the train station the next day. She arranged tickets to the bon fire show, took me there on the back of her bike and offered to pick me up (I chose to walk throigh the little dark streets because it was a lovely evening). She invited me to sit and drink tea with her and her friends, and made me feel like part of the family. As a westerner, the bed was a little hard for me, but i was very comfortable in my room. A must see area of China!
