"The hotel is very near Nikko station. The staff are friendly and very accomodating. The room is small, but for an overnight stay, the size was sufficient. Booking includes simple breakfast (or bread, coffee, boiled egg, salad) which is good enough. There is also a large supermarket near the hotel. You can also leave your luggage at the self-storage room of the hotel - very convenient. Our room also have a very nice view of the mountains. I would recommend this hotel."

"I had a truly wonderful stay at Hatago Nagomi. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. The staff were incredibly warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. Their hospitality made us feel so welcomed and comfortable throughout our stay.
The food was absolutely amazing. Every meal was beautifully presented and thoughtfully prepared. The dishes were not only delicious but also showcased the freshness and quality of the ingredients. It was truly a highlight of our trip.
The view from the hotel was breathtaking. Overlooking Lake Chuzenji, the scenery was peaceful and stunning, especially in the morning. Waking up to such a beautiful view made our stay even more memorable.

"This ryokan was a lovely stay in Nikko. The location was the #1 feature as it is 5-10 minutes away from the popular Toshugu Shrine attraction. The breakfast and dinner meals were some of, if not the best meals that I had during my 2.5 weeks in Japan. And the service was super attentive and there are many English speaking immigrant staff. I never encountered overcrowded public onsen during my 3 day visit. I would totally stay here again for future trips to central Nikko."

"A cozy and spacious hotel in Nikko. A bit of a walk from the station when you have a lot of luggage. Staff did not speak English. The rooms were large and allowed for many extra beds if needed. The large windows allowed for great morning views of the mountains. The onsen is in a separate building but was nice to have. The lobby also has some sitting areas, a manga room, massage chairs and good vending machines."

"Enjoyable stay at yutorelo nikko, which was conveniently located near lake chuzenji. Room was big and had a nice view of the lake. Hotel onsen was very legit and nice especially when the night was cold. There is free sake and alcohol in the lounge. Breakfast was a delicious set meal with drinks available. Hotel is walkable distance to kegon falls. Would recommend :)"

"Très bon hostel, mieux que sur les photos. On a eu une chambres pour 4 personnes avec le toilette privatif, que la douche à partager. L’onsen est tres propre et contient deux bassin à l’intérieur et à l’extérieur. Deux lave-linges et deux sèche-linges sont à disposition avec le payement supplémentaire. Cuisine est grand et propre.
L’hôtel est loin d’activité principale de Nikko (Nikkō Tōshō-gū et un hike avec des cascades). Le système de train même si vous prenez Nikko pass à Tokyo n’est pas parfait car ça oblige de prendre des billets supplémentaires pour un train express, car n’inclut pas dans le pass."

"The hosts were friendly and the young female assistant was helpful and polite. Location is great, near to the well-known fall and the lake is in front of the residence. Private onsen facilities are great though they are not available in the morning. Foods provided are in Western style and they are good, but not that great. Guests are reminded to tell the hosts on how to cook the steak, especially if well-done is not their preference. No elevator but many steps means you have to have strong muscle to move the heavy buggages from the car to the room."

VVieraskäyttäjäWe were glad to stay at Nikko Toshogu Koyoen. Firstly, the service was pleasant and warm-hearted. Our Japanese-style room reservation (dinner + breakfast) was comprised of Kaiseki dinner either! (There was no notice about such a nice option when we booked the room.) The price for one night was quite reasonable (compared to other ryokans nearby). Moreover, it was the only onsen within 5 bus stops from Tobu-Nikko station (really convenient, if compared to ryokans in Kinugawa which takes one hour by train). You are also able to apply for ryokan's transfer (We were not told about the option in advance, so we used transfer the next day to get from the ryuokan to Tobu-Nikko station.) You might get the impression that the hotel is stuck in the 80s, but the service, Kaiseki, cozy rooms, and the onsen make you forget all about it.

VVieraskäyttäjäI want to thank hosts of Akari no yado personally. The hosts were nice and worked really hard to feel ourselves at home. The place was clean and the common room was big and comfortable. Bathroom was old fashioned but if you want modern bathrooms you were able to use the bath house for showers and toilets in the common area. Breakfast is made of pastries and all I had was pretty delicious. You can also have marmalade and margarine with breakfast pastries and there are drinks (tea/coffee/milk/juice) to choose from. We checked out early and hosts prepared our breakfast to go even if it wasn’t breakfast time yet. They even drove us to the station when we asked if they would be able to call us a taxi!
Bath house was spacious with two different baths. System is easy and we were able to use it whenever we wanted (between 16.00-23.00 of course). They are giving free rental yukatas and they were so comfy. They also have guides everywhere to help you (our room even had a guide on how to prepare a futon bed!) the place felt like we were part of a family and that was the most amazing part for me. I even got teary eyed when it was time to go. Thank you Akari no yado! Hope to see you soon again!

There's a smell though that's unidentifiable.

VVieraskäyttäjäWir waren total begeistert von unserem Aufenthalt im Kaniyu Onsen.
Die Hinfahrt ist alleine schon ein Jochen Schweitzer Erlebnis! Mit dem Zug von Kita Senju nach Kinugawaonsen (1,5h), dort in den Bus nach Meotobuchi (1,5h) und dann in den Onsen Shuttle (20min). Ohne Japanisch zu können vor Ort buchen, abenteuerlich! Klappte aber alles tadellos, auch dank der sehr hilfsbereiten Frauen in der Tourist-Info und welch eine wunderschöne Landschaft während den Fahrten!
Im Onsen angekommen wurde ganz gut Englisch gesprochen und alles ausführlich erklärt. Hier ganz wichtig für uns war: Tattoos sind von Haus aus toleriert, man solle allerdings auf die anderen Besucher Rücksicht nehmen. Heißt möglich dann baden wenn niemand anderes im Becken ist oder es mit einem Handtuch bedecken. Wir sind erst sehr spät ins große Gemeinschaftsbecken gegangen. Vorher waren wir nur in den kleinen Becken, dort wird man nicht sehr gesehen.
Das Abendessen ist ebenfalls sehr außergewöhnlich. Man muss sich als europäer darauf einlassen und für mich, der kein Fisch isst hat es ein wenig Überwindung gekostet. Trotzdem sowas erlebt man nur einmal, deswegen machen sie es mit!!
Wir fanden es super und würden jederzeit wieder kommen! Danke für die schöne Zeit!

TTsusiefirst of I would like to thanks always trip.com for very nice & convinient bookings everytime,we stay new sakura hotel,because the interior of the hotel is mostly sakura theme,the carpet,the gorgeous chandelier, the wall design,etc.or cherry blossom in Japan,& so very affordable prize,we spend only 18,000 yen for 2 adults,with 2 breakfast & 2 dinner.Very near from kinugawa onsen station,only 3 hrs.from Tokyo.We amazed the room,so very big for the two of us,for very cheap prize,can accomodate even 10 person,the buffet breakfast & dinner also is so good but the most I want to share is the drink all you can alcohol beverages for 1 hour,like beer,japanese wine,sours, all kinds of softhdrinks,I enjoyed for self service alcohol drink all you can!the hotspring also is very good but the cons is take care in the outdoor spring because of the concrete stairs,especially for the elderly when slippery,there's

VVieraskäyttäjäThe exterior of the hotel is pretty, but the interior of the hotel is dated and needs a bit of updating. There were parts of the hotel that were completely shut down (maybe there are saving up enough money to one day renovate). However the facilities and rooms are well maintained and the onsens are beautiful and peaceful. There are 2 main onsens, that are separated by men and women. Each day the onsens are switched, in the morning you will go to one, and in the evening before dinner you can experience the other onsen. Onsite there is a really nice restaurant and gift shop that featured local products at reasonable prices. There is a 24 hour coffee/tea station that is free to use. It's a short 10 minute walk from Kinugawa Onsen Station. When you arrive they provide you a yukata to wear while you are staying at the hotel. The rooms are spacious with options for a western bed or japanese style (sleeping on the floor). We opted for the western bed to be higher off the ground as we thought it would be colder to sleep on the ground. Although the rooms are very well heated and was a bit too warm, that we needed to open the window to cool the room down. The rooms have nice views of the countryside. They provide a pitcher of ice water in the room and you can go to the front desk to refill with ice if more is needed. The bathroom is quite large and has both a shower and toilet in a separate room of the bathroom; although we mostly bathed in the onsen. There is a 7-eleven nearby that was open 24 hours, but otherwise there isn't much else around the hotel. Also the town of Kinugawa Onsen closes quite early, around 8pm it's quite deserted. We were there at the end of November 2024, and it seemed that the hotel was mostly unoccupied, so we felt like we had the place to ourselves. It was a very nice one night stay.

DDanny IwaIt’s our first time visiting Nikko. The hotel is quite a distance from Nikko station so walking is not an option (take bus 2A/2C) and stop at stop number 11. Then, walk 5mins upslope to the hotel.
The friendly receptionist spoke basic english. There were 2 smoking booths at floor 3&4. The onsen(both indoor and outdoor) was a nice experience. As there were few guest, I had the whole onsen all to myself. There was also 2 private onsens which you can book for 2000yen. Amenities were stocked up and I was impressed! Meals were included in the price, and dinner was an experience.
Everything closes early here in winter. We were allowed check in at 11am, and proceeded to Kanaya Hotel (500yen) and to Toshogu Shrine (1600yen). We walked around the picturesque town with so many beautiful photo spots!
If you’re catching the first train out of Nikko (7:37am), do note there is NO taxi service & breakfast starts at 730am so we had to forfeit breakfast. You have to walk out to the bus stop which comes earliest at 7:02am.
Overall, a good first experience in a ryokan.

VVieraskäyttäjäI don’t understand why someone would leave a negative review due to their own negligence. Trip.com clearly mentioned the additional 300-yen tax (I assume this is the onsen tax) per person, yet they still claimed they were “scammed.”
My overall experience at Hotel Euro City was wonderful. The staff were extremely nice and helpful, and the shuttle bus service was amazing. If you want to get to the hotel easily, check the shuttle schedule on the hotel’s homepage so you don’t have to walk from the station. They run it every day at 9:00, 9:30, 10:00, 15:15, 16:15, 17:15, and 18:15 from “Nikko Station Hotel Classic,” right next to JR Nikko Station.
The room was spacious and comfortable, and the onsen in the backyard was great. It’s true that the room had a mild smell, but I assume it was due to recent pest control (it smelled like pesticide). Just open the windows for a while and it goes away.
Breakfast was okay—not as fancy as in the advertisements, maybe because it wasn’t peak season. Overall, I think this is a very good choice, especially if you’re traveling with family.

私のホテル・ユーロシティでの滞在はとても快適でした。スタッフの皆さんはとても親切で、シャトルバスのサービスも素晴らしかったです。駅から歩きたくない場合は、ホテルのホームページでシャトルバスの時刻を確認すると良いと思います。毎日、JR日光駅のすぐ隣にある「日光ステーションホテルクラシック」から 9:00／9:30／10:00／15:15／16:15／17:15／18:15 に運行しています。
部屋は広くて快適で、裏庭にある温泉もとても良かったです。確かに部屋には少し匂いがありましたが、おそらく害虫駆除をした後の匂い（殺虫剤のような匂い）だと思います。窓を開けてしばらく換気すればなくなります。
朝食は普通で、広告ほど豪華ではありませんでしたが、ハイシーズンではなかったためかもしれません。全体的に、特に家族連れの方にはとても良い選択だと思います。

添添米肥酒店位置除了開車的旅客，坐公交的就不太方便。訂的房間類型只有吸煙房，到達房間有很濃的煙味，很難受。餐食供應非常好，有驚喜。溫泉大浴池都不錯。這家旅館真的要提升衛生質素，地毯都是黑黑的，房間應該改為不能抽煙。但性價比很高，尤其是有Trip.com的優惠加持
