"A lovely relaxing hotel right on the Beppu beach road. There was a definite air of old seaside town about the place and it was very chill - the onsen in the hotel itself was very nice and wasn't at all busy when we were there.
The breakfast however did get quite crowded with tour groups so going down later worked the best for us - if you had to go in peak time there was often a queue.
The room was compact but very comfortable and had all the things needed for a comfy stay. Staff were lovely and the japanese pj's provided we're a nice touch.
Fantastic location for traveling around beppu as well as arriving from Fukuoka and leaving to Oita airport. The hotel is right next to both bus stops."

"The room and the Onsen were EXACTLY like those in the listing and were absolutely stunning! The breakfast was delicious and the range more than adequate. The location is good if you drive but is about 1km walk to Beppu Tower and a bit more from the night street. But I’d happily trade that for the spacious room and the wonderful sea and sunrise view."

"I stayed in Beppu for 4 nights, trying different onsens at different hotels.Tsuruta was my last Beppu hotel. Although the room i stayed in is rather dated and items worn out, all necessary equipment are working very well, i stayed at a newer 4.5 star hotel prior and the air-conditioner, hair dryer and toilet exhaust were noisy and faulty, while in the older Tsuruta where everything works well! This don't judge a book by its cover, older hotels is just as good! I've attached a photo of the park and harbour view from my room at Tsuruta."

"Room and onsen were good - clean, spacious, lovely view and not crowded. The food for breakfast and dinner average, not Wow type and same menu for our 2 night stay. A big mall nearby but close early 10am to 7pm. The hotel is popular with Japanese, ********* and Koreans but luckily the onsen though only one each indoor and outdoor, was not crowded so can go several time in a day and good amenities provided in the Onsen washing area. Will want to visit again

"The best hotel I’ve ever been too! It was so relaxing, the plus is definitely the private onsen bath. We arrived late, after hours, and they were super accommodating and the employee still met with us and gave us a tour of the place to ensure we had a comfortable night. Everyone is super nice! LLai Khun ShumWalking distance within 5 mins to JR or bus station . Very convenient with lot of restaurant nearby . Plan ur trip without hassle for logistic . U wan JR , just 5 min , u wan main bus terminal , just 5 min . Am definitely will stay again if i revisit beppu again .
Last a full skincare regime for free at lobby . Least ur hassle to bring all . Remember if u stay here no need to bring ur skin care ya .

The room was big with private onsen, clean and simple.
The facility is only the public onsen, which is indoor with no view. The breakfast is quite basic, the taste could be more outstanding.

The female dorm room is big. Showers and toilets are clean, with free shampoo conditioner and shower gel provided for guests. There is paid washing machine and dryer to use. And on the 5 floor the guests can use sauna for free.
Only negative point is there are cameras in the female dorm room.

OOlga TarIf you're considering this hotel, you'd better stay at Yula-Re.
We booked almost the largest room they have and it felt very cheap and cramped still. Glad we stayed only a single night there. The rooms are small even for Japan, and it's impossible to fit luggage under the bed, so it feels even more cramped. The bathroom has a ridiculously high floor, we tripped over the entrance so many times... And the bath is so tiny that you'll have to use Yula-Re's onsen to wash.
There are 9 or 10 floors but only one elevator, slow and tiny, so we had to wait for unreasonable time every time we wanted to go out.
The pajamas are nice but the wooden slippers are so broken they ask to kill them rather than be worn one more time. The worst was the bed cover paired with the sheet you have to use instead of a normal blanket. Felt so unhygienic...
There were several good points, though: the service was good and friendly, the location is great - just steps away from Beppu station, bus stop, combini and cafes nearby. And the possibility to freely use Yula-Re's amenities such as rooftop pool and onsen!
But then again, consider staying at Yula-Re. This hotel didn't feel like value for money.

Kunisakiso on ryokan vanhanaikainen mutta tyylikäs viehätys, joka antaa sinulle tuntea Japanin perinne. Alapuolella on arvostelu, joka järjestää liikkuvat hetket kokeneet itsesi.
1. Ystävällinen ja huolellinen henkilöstöpalvelu
Yksi Gunisakison suurimmista nähtävyyksistä on palvelun ystävällisyys. Tutkimuksesta ulostuloon, palvelu, joka tervehtii minua huolellisesti ja hymy oli vaikuttava, ja pystyin pysymään mukavasti koko oleskeluni.
2. Great Kaiseki keittiö
Kaiseki ateria, joka tarjottiin 8000 yeniä henkilöä kohti, teki minusta tunteen arvokkaampi.
- 5 ruokahalua: Voin tuntea japanilaisen perinteen värikäs maku ja herkku.
- Ensimmäinen pääruoka: tuore sashimi pantiin puulauta muotoinen jade aluksen, ja se oli visuaalisesti hämmästyttävä.
- Toinen pääruoka: Laita korkea-aste merileivän ja makeat perunat koreihin, lämpö ja ylellisyys yhdenmukaistaa.
Se on pehmeä, rikas maku, ja voin maistaa japanilaisen keittiön olemus.
-Fried: oli kolmea tyyppiä paahdettu ruoka, joista paahdettu puhveli oli paras. Tekstuurin oli hyvin pehmeä kanan jalka tekstuuri.
- Dessert Black Sesam Pudding: Voin lopettaa ruokani eri tekstuuri ja maku muistuttaa Hersheyn eväste ja kerma.
- Lisäksi kurssilla oli erilaisia perinteisiä japanilaisia korkea-asteen ruoanlaittoja.
3. Erilaisia kuumia kevätkokemuksia
Kunisakison kuumat kevättilat koostuvat perheen kylpyhuoneista, kattopäästä yksityisistä kuumista kevätistä ja suurista kylpyhuoneista, jotka tarjoavat erilaisia viehätyksiä.
Perhe kylpy: Se on avoin kylpy puuta ulkopuolella ryokan, ja katto on auki, joten voit tuntea luonnollisen ilmaa, vaikka neljä puolia on lukittuna seinien.
Rooftop Private Hot Springs: Tila, joka tarjoaa ainutlaatuisen ja erityisen kokemuksen, ja pystyin käyttämään sitä henkilökohtaisesti 50 minuuttia varauksen jälkeen. Pienten tilojen ansiosta pystyin nauttimaan yksityisajasta.

Kunisakison näköala oli erittäin tyydyttävä. monien veden höyryjen näkymät ikkunasta katsoessasi ovat niin isot, että ajattelin, että jokaisella talolla oli höyryveturi. Ja näet aina kuuman kevätveden höyryn, joka tulee ulos kanavalta.

location: it's relatively further from the station , around a 8-10min walk. there is a 7-11 just around the corner
room: my room came without a bathroom but for the ladies are 3 cubicles shared among the 7 mix gendered guests on the floor. i did not have to wait in line at all. there was more than enough space in the room to open my suitcase wide and still feel comfortable. bed and pillow was a bit hard though, and you can hear anyone talking loudly downstairs outside the building as the room is on 2nd floor, tho that doesnt happen very often.
food: amazing balanced breakfast that changes everyday - really delicious!
onsen: the one on 2F was smaller than 1F, but very good and comfortable. clean too. you can book a private onsen room for 500yen (50mins)
staff: all of them were super friendly, helpful and made me feel welcome. there are english-proficient staff available 24H as well :)

TTristanHWhen I arrived the hotel, the two parking lots on the right side of the entrance were occupied but the one on the left side was still vacant. So I temporarily parked there to unload my luggage and then drove away to a nearby public paid carpark. However when I came back, I found the parking space was occupied by a rental car with a Fukuoka license plate and it parked there for the whole night.
The instruction sent to us clear said the customer can only use the two parking lots on the right side with “first come first serve” principle. I am wondering what is the left parking space used for? If it is only used for unloading and pickup, then the instruction should clearly mention it. Otherwise it is not fair for the customers that followed the rules and parked their cars to somewhere else.

Good soundproofing between rooms. Only could hear passing by of trains while awake, so wasn’t a big an issue to us.

Cons: No lift!!! We had to carry our heavy & big luggages to the 2nd floor! *Should indicate shortage of this important facility in the booking system!
Only 2 parking spaces for 7 units. *Should also indicate in the booking system that parking spaces are first come first served and have to park at nearby paying car parks if both were being taken up.
Will be nice to provide some garbage bags in the room as clearing of food waste from the room was definitely necessary during the many days of our stay!
Dining table (super wobbly and one side of the table legs seemed like giving away very soon) needs to changed/repaired instantly!

First floor has 2 rooms ＜1 double bed and 1 with twin beds＞ but no space for luggages, a small washing basin at the corner of the staircase. 1 wc and 2 showers at first floor. Washing machine ＜no dryer＞ on the first floor. 1 wc on 2nd floor. Living room on 3 floor. 2nd floor has 2 rooms ＜1 with 2 double beds and 1 single bed, another with a single bed＞. 2 washing basin on 2nd floor inside the rooms. It's not possible to bring big luggage up to narrow and steep staircase.no mirror on 1st floor so nid to climb up to wash and brush teeth. We wish the living room was the 1st floor. The music from nearby is bearable. Only know how to manage the water heater on 2nd day.
Suggestion to include rubbish bins on the first and 2nd floor. Add a mirror on first floor.
