Our stay at the Viminale View Hotel was an acceptable one - but we would unlikely return on a future visit to Rome. Arriving at the hotel in the early afternoon, we were pleased to be allowed to check in ahead of the published time (14:00hrs). The service was friendly and efficient and we were quickly shown to our room - that being a ‘deluxe’ room at the end of a corridor. Room number 1 was to be our home for four nights. The room was of a good size and well-equipped e.g. towels, tea and coffee making facilities, a small fridge (with optional mini-bar), a television and a bathroom - with an excellent free standing bath tub in the centre of the bedroom. Perhaps my biggest gripe with the hotel was the disappointing view from the room. A ‘Viminale View’ it most certainly was not. Interestingly, room number 1 was the only room on the wrong side of the building. All others, including cheaper standard rooms, had the all-important Viminale view. In fact, not from anywhere in the hotel could we see the Viminale, since the reception area too was without any windows. Our two windows looked out onto a gutter on one side and an adjacent building on the other. We paid a little extra for breakfast, which was of a simple but acceptable standard. Given the size of the hotel with just 10 rooms, an extravagant buffet was not expected. More a continental selection, there was enough to keep us going until lunchtime. Cold meats, cheese, bread, pastries, yoghurts, toast etc, with scrambled egg and sausage available as hot options. Hot drinks were made on request. As a smaller establishment, this accommodation appeared only ever to be staffed by one person at a time, which somewhat impacted service. Once seated for breakfast, we were provided with a hot drink and then left to it. There was no opportunity to request further drinks, which was a little disappointing. And on one occasion, we watched as a guest had to go in search of a member of staff in order to get a cup of coffee. Perhaps in the mornings, especially with breakfast to provide and guests occasionally checking out, a second staff member would be beneficial. House-keeping was of a good standard but returning on our last night, we were keen to enjoy a coffee, only to find that our supplies had not been replenished and our cups were still dirty on the side. As a hotel unstaffed after 17:00hrs, it wasn’t a simple case of calling for some coffee, rather just going without. Whilst an enjoyable stay, the view from the room and the lack of hotel staff beyond 17:00hrs just didn’t work for us.

The hotel is situated on a lively square. It is clean, appears newly renovated (in the rooms) and well maintained, with a reasonably attractive aesthetic. The accommodation is plain and simple:  a bit student dorm-like with small rooms, but the room is pleasant, and clean, and the aircon actually works (unlike most in Italy). The lobby is staffed 24 hours a day (which is a plus), and the staff are helpful. The downsides are the small room size (oddly did not bother me) and the thin cheap doors. I chose to stay here rather than an airport hotel during a transit, and found the experience quite fun, being able to walk around Rome for a few hours overnight. ONE PROBLEM I would mention is that they are currently renovating the top 2 floors of the hotel (4 storeys) ... and it makes a lot of noise in the morning if you are trying to sleep after 8am. If you get out of the room before 8am, it probably won't bother you too much ... but if you like staying up late, I would find somewhere else to stay. Also, the hotel should warn guests of the problem, and they do not.

We enjoyed our hotel stay in Nord Nuova overall. Reception was accommodating to allow us to store our big luggages before check in as we were travelling to Naples for a few days before check in. Special thanks to Riccardo from reception. Kimo, bellman was nice too to help with the luggages. Location was perfect if you want to be near to Roma Termini station. Hotel location is also not very far from Colliseum or Spanish Steps. About 30 mins walk (if you don’t get distracted along the way 😉). Hotel amenities were adequate. But the heated towel rack were not on during our 1N stay for us to enjoy “warm” towels. Overall we would recommend people to stay in this hotel. 👍

Good location. I like to walk, so I was able to walk to the Colosseum and Trevi Fountain. Breakfast was also good. However, the shower room is very small.

I want to especially thank a lobby manager; this is his work name. He was incredibly kind and friendly. Because we arrived at the hotel early, and seeing that I was traveling with my 74-year-old mother, he let us check in ahead of time. We received warm and very humane help and care. My mother very like him. He deserves a perfect score. I think we will definitely come back next time.

Una piacevole sorpresa vicino alla Fontana di Trevi. Bella stanza con arredamento curato e molto pulita. Ottima esperienza soprattutto grazie alla disponibilità e gentilezza del proprietario che ha fatto di tutto per rendere perfetto il nostro soggiorno! Ci torneremo!!!

Я люблю этот отель. Ничто не сравниться с чувством, когда куча людей топчется у фонтана Треви, а ты проходишь сквозь толпу в свой отель Fontana и знаешь, что утром будешь завтракать с видом на Фонтан! И можешь в любое время спуститься к нему, скараулив когда не много народа с самого раннего утра и не надо никуда торопиться. Есть нюансы, конечно, отель не молодой, со своей большой историей. Но я закрывают на мелочи глаза. Потому что люблю этот отель!

Saavuimme tänne klo 11 ja se oli vasta klo 15; edes kysymättä he päättivät päivittää huoneemme niin, että meillä olisi 2 huonetta, koska olimme tra Eli g lasten kanssa JA päivitetty huone oli heti valmis! Sisäänkirjautumista varten on aula, mutta hotellihuone oli itse asiassa muutaman kadun päässä. Kellomies käveli kanssamme huoneeseemme ja näytti meille, missä kaikki oli erittäin hienosti. - Minijääkaappi oli täynnä Coca Colaa, mehuvettä olutta ja viiniä (2 kaikkea!) Olimme siellä 3 päivää ja käytimme kaiken. Yllättäen lisähinta oli vain 15 euroa! - loistava sijainti noin 50 metriä (täsmälleen 80 sekunnin kävelymatka) Trevin suihkulähteestä. - kadulla on todella vilkasta kaikki ravintolat ja kauppiaat ja kaupat, mutta ollessamme 3. kerroksessa emme kuulleet mitään ja tunsimme olomme erittäin turvalliseksi. Suosittelisin 100% ja menisin takaisin tänne, jos tulisimme Romaan uudelleen.
