Excellent hotel, great facilities, friendly staff, clean and tidy, very comfortable to stay, will come again next time

Everything was good except the service in hotel restaurants, which was exceptionally bad: 1) breakfast: waited for food for 40 mins, reminded the server 2 times - still nothing; 2) bar: a too long wait for a cocktail. the server said that as apology said cocktail won’t be in included in the bill… but it was there; 3) afternoon tea: told the staff that I dislike dairy products, but have no allergy. So, for example I can eat most sweets, but not the ones with a strong taste of mascarpone cream. In the end they gave me just a plate of fruit and when I remninded them of the above they… did nothing ) I stayed at this hotel and had afternoon tea there last year too - everything was fine then. All of the above are 3 different restaurants inside the hotel, so I wouldn’t recommend going to any restaurant there. In all other aspects except services related to food the hotel is good.

I stayed at your hotel from January and am submitting this formal complaint regarding the unacceptable behavior of front desk staff member Mr. Wu. Immediately after check-in, our room key did not work. Mr. Wu dismissed our concern without checking and repeatedly insisted the problem was ours, not the card. Only after visible irritation and reluctance did he come upstairs, where it was confirmed the key was faulty. No apology was offered. Despite being informed that parking fees would be settled at checkout, approximately one hour after check-in (around 4:00 PM), Mr. Wu called our room while we were resting and demanded we come down because the parking fee had not been paid. This felt accusatory and deeply inappropriate. Additionally, when asking a simple question about which parking card to use, Mr. Wu responded with audible sighs and a condescending attitude. This conduct is entirely incompatible with professional hospitality standards. I expect this matter to be taken seriously and appropriate disciplinary action to be taken.

Delightful modern hotel. It’s very comfy. The breakfast delicious and the ingredients are high quality. Premium dishes that satisfies the definition of high quality cuisine. Good slippers and comfortable pyjama(bathrobes are also included). Good cleaning service. I recommend this hotel to stay in while you’re in Kyoto. Price/quality ratio is perfect!

Olin erinomainen majoitus Fauchonissa. Saapuessamme lämpimässä vieraanvaraisuudessa olimme tervetulleita. Hotellihenkilökunta oli myös uskomattoman huolellinen ja ystävällinen koko majoitustamme. Huoneeni oli pieni mutta mukava, jossa oli moderni ja ylellinen tilaisuus, jotka olivat tyylikkäästi vaaleanpunainen ja mukava vuode. Huomiota yksityiskohtiin huoneessa oli vaikuttava, huomattava kosketus, mukaan lukien koko joukko komplimentaarisia evästeitä ja kakkua.Aamiainen palveli asetettu valinta ja valinta oli rajallinen ja perustavanlaatuinen mutta asiantuntevasti valmistettu ja esitetty. Hotellin sijainti oli myös täydellinen minulle, koska se sijaitsee aivan Kioton ytimessä, mutta kaukana paksuista paikkoista, joilla on erinomainen pääsy julkiseen liikenteeseen. The hotel is nested in a quiet corner, within walking distance of Sagaogurayama Tabuchiyamacho. Im however a bit disappointed with the limited facilites it offered when compared to the price we paid. We stayed in the Tsukinone Twin Room which is on the third floor of the building. The view is pleasant. The room is of decent size. Yet there were no public onsens. We need to pay YEN5000 for 45 minutes and there are only 2 private onsens. For more luxurious rooms with private onsen, the one I visited was on the ground level with no views as it were by the pathway to the reception , separated by wooden planks. We paid around Yen5000 for the breakfast in the hotel, Both western and japanese breakfasts were offered. We tried both. It is of standard. The 4 different juices presented on the top of the bento box was impressive. The vaccinity is pleasant. We could walk to the train station, the tourist rown area , the nearby parks and the world heritage sites. Nice area .

Dear Sir/Madam, I recently had the opportunity to stay at your hotel, and I would like to share my experience with you. First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude for the exceptional design and comfort your property offers. Kengo Kuma’s architectural brilliance, with its use of natural wood, thoughtful lighting, and integration of art pieces, creates a stunning and serene atmosphere. Additionally, the comfort of the rooms, the quality of the materials, the size of the beds, and the premium linens were truly impressive. In terms of design and comfort, your hotel sets a remarkable standard. However, I did encounter several service-related issues that I believe could be addressed to enhance the overall guest experience. I would like to share these points in the hope that they are helpful for future improvements: 1. Breakfast Lounge and Sushi Area: The proximity of these two areas creates a strong odor upon entering, which can be unpleasant. Improved ventilation could easily mitigate this issue. 2. Food and Beverage Service After Breakfast: The lack of food and beverage service after breakfast hours was inconvenient. At the very least, providing a space for guests to enjoy tea or coffee would be a welcome addition. 3. Room Service Availability: After a long journey, I was surprised to learn that room service was unavailable and that only rice balls could be provided. Expanding room service options would greatly improve the guest experience. 4. Flexibility with Breakfast Hours: Due to the time difference, I arrived slightly late for breakfast at 10:10 AM and was informed that nothing could be served. Even my request for tea did not receive a clear response. Greater flexibility in accommodating guests dealing with jet lag would be highly appreciated. 5. Lobby Services: The inability to offer anything to drink or even host a guest in the lobby felt restrictive. This could be improved to make the lobby a more welcoming space. 6. Spa Experience: I was unable to experience the renowned Banyan Tree spa as it was fully booked. Expanding spa reservation availability would help meet guest expectations for this signature offering. In summary, while the hotel excels in design and comfort, the service offerings seem to be constrained by rigid rules and limited hours, which can detract from the overall guest experience. I strongly believe that adopting a more flexible, guest-centered approach would significantly enhance satisfaction. If the above issues were addressed, I would certainly consider staying at your hotel again during my next visit to Kyoto. We loved our stay at Hotel the Mitsui. Super nice and zen design . Absolutely adore their lobby area, which I think is designed by Andre Fu. Always drawn into his work somehow. Breakfast food was okay, but the view really made up everything l. Super relaxing & beautiful Service was great. Most of them were able to speak English proficiently. There’s a thermal spring at their basement, which you have to call the reception before you go to ensure there’s enough space. Everything was well prepared, including swimwear, disposable underpants, towels, water, etc. Since they control the # of people, everyone has their own space and it still feels very private. Room is nice with many details. Love their huge selection of pillows available for guests. It’s not huge, but the space is well used. Location wise, I wouldn’t say it’s the most convenient, but if you take a cab, everything is reachable in 20 mins max, so it’s not too bad. There are still good restaurants and touristy places to go that are in walkable distance, so it’s not middle of nowhere. Overall, fantastic experience which I will recommend for others!

Hotelli sijaitsee kahden kaupungin tien vastapäätä, jalkakäytävä on noin 8 minuuttia. Jalankulku kahden kaupungin etupuolella sijaitsevaan metroasemaan on noin 6 minuuttia. Jalankulku noin 25 minuuttia U-tankilla. Sijainti on hyvä.Aamiainen on hyvä. Huone on hieman vanha, ei edes USB-suojus, kaksivuodevuode on noin 1.3 metriä. Hygienia on hyvä.
