Firstly, this has to be one of the nicest places which I stayed at in Yunnan, or in China for that matter. You may be thinking that is price is good to be true, but this place performs well above what is to be expected of that price range. I was originally planning to stay elsewhere in Benzilan, but am very glad that I stayed here. The rooms are super spacious with high ceilings and wooden furniture. The view out of my window was very green and calming. The amenities were all well-maintained and very clean. The pictures really don't do the rooms the justice that they deserve. Secondly, and very importantly, the owner - a young Benzilan local who operates the hotel with his mother - is exceptionally kind, genuine and friendly. As a solo traveller, he helped organise transport, offered lunch, and even some of the local liquor. As far as service goes, this place remains unbeaten amongst all the places I've travelled in China. The hotel overlooks the mountains surrounding Benzilan. In the evening, you can peacefully sit outside the hotel on its elevated terrace and quietly watch the mountains as the sun goes down. I would not hesitate to stay again.

Kim’s Youth Hostel is located in the backyard of Lower Yubeng and offers private ensuite rooms with basic shower amenities. It is about 5 mins walk to the main stretch of restaurants and shops at Lower Yubeng and 10mins walk to the transport pickup area (to Upper Yubeng/ Ninong Village). The room offers some views of the valley but is partially obstructed by buildings in front of it. Breakfast starts after 7.30am but our plans started earlier. We didn’t get the breakfast but chose to buy a 35rmb sandwich instead. The accommodation does not provide bottled water. Instead, there is a filtered water dispenser at the lobby/dining area to refill your bottles.

Fantastic, fabulous, and fascinating! This homestay in Benzilan is pure magic! The location is serene, the accommodation spotless, and the people—simply outstanding. The hosts treat you like family, always smiling and going the extra mile to make your stay unforgettable. Honestly, leaving this place is the hardest part! It’s hands down my best stay in Yunnan. If you’re heading to Deqin for Meili Snow Mountain, this is a must-stay. Highly recommended!

The room was new and clean. But the star of the show was the hosts.They were really kind and gave us lots of good tips and shared tea and snacks with us at the fireplace.

The room is great and has a good view. It even comes equipped with an oxygen machine and heated blanket. The location is convenient, just a short walk away from the Feilaisi Observation Deck. The service is warm and friendly. I felt very at home here. You get a discount when you eat at their restaurant too. Highly recommended and I would definitely stay here again.

If you are looking for one of the most affordable ways to wake up to the breathtaking sight of the Meili Snow Mountain, look no further than FANSU at WUNONGDING. Our stay here was nothing short of incredible. The primary reason for our visit was the sacred Meili Snow mountain, and the view absolutely delivered. Waking up to that majestic panorama right outside our window was a highlight of our entire trip. For the value, it's an unbeatable location. The hospitality here is what truly sets FANSU apart. The staff are super helpful and friendly, going out of their way to make us feel not just like guests, but like family. They created a homey and comfortable atmosphere that made it hard to leave. A special memory was made on our last evening when the staff taught us how to sing the beautiful ******* song ”FLY” by ANU. It was a spontaneous, joyful moment that we will cherish forever. A super big thank you to them for that! Regarding the food: we found the meals to be absolutely yummy and comforting. While we've seen some comments about the dinner being expensive, we found it perfectly reasonable for our usual dining expenditure, and more importantly, the quality and taste justified it. The breakfast was also lovely and set us up perfectly well for the day. We left with full hearts, amazing photos, and great memories. If you want an authentic, warm, and unforgettable experience facing the Meili Snow Mountain, we cannot recommend FANSU highly enough. Amazing small village with warm welcoming ******* family. The whole area is very calm, not touristy. The boss lady speaks perfect English as she used to be a tourist guide. If you need any help, you should add her to WeChat. Her number is on Trip.com. The hotel is brand new and very clean. You can have a room with view to the glacier. This is the perfect basecamp for visiting the Mingyong Glacier and Yubeng. They can take you or pick you up to/from these destinations. They have a good variety food options, the kitchen is very clean. They also sell beer and local wine. We loved our stay and would stay again anytime if we come back to the region. This is real ******* hospitality.

What sets this guesthouse apart from others is its convenient location - while most people spend 2 nights in Upper Yubeng and 1 night in Lower Yubeng, this guesthouse was conveniently located between Upper and Lower Yubeng, allowing me to explore all the hikes without having to change accommodation. The food provided was fresh and good, and the rooms were neat and tidy. Extra points for a western toilet, as many other guesthouses only offer squatting bathrooms. The owners always looked out for our safety as well, providing information on which hikes were safe to do, weather permitting. Will highly recommend this for its convenient location and great service.
