"This stay offers great value for money. The hotel has an excellent view of Meili Snow Mountain from its observatory deck on the 5th floor, although the view from the room is partially obstructed by a building on the right-hand side. The reception hall is impressive, and we received a warm welcome with afternoon tea, nighttime desserts, and group activities organized by the hotel, including fireworks. We were very fortunate to catch the Geminid meteor shower during our stay and were able to watch it comfortably from our room—and, of course, to admire Meili Snow Mountain at sunrise."

"The room was decent, and the view might be nice on a clear day. But if you come during the rainy season, everything is just a blur of white—definitely not worth the price. Not sure if there are any restaurants nearby, but you can order food through *******. The breakfast was a bit disappointing, with some of the dishes and bowls cracked or chipped. For such an expensive room, shouldn’t they be using new tableware?"

"The service was excellent, the best of 3 different hotels we stayed at during our trip in Yunnan. Staff was also super friendly and professional. The views from the hotel are absolutely amazing and the hotel is located in a quiet area which makes it even more enjoyable. We loved relaxing in the bar area with the fireplace, coffee was delicious. Breakfast was very tasty and big portions. The room is very spacious with very comfortable bed. I highly recommend staying here!"

The hotel is located at the most beautiful fog top observation deck in Meili Snow Mountain, which not only can enjoy the panoramic view of the thirteen peaks of Prince in Meili Snow Mountain, but also overlooks Biluo Snow Mountain, Baima Snow Mountain and Lancang River Valley. There are many types of rooms in the hotel, all of which are equipped with floor heating and anti-high reaction oxygen concentrators, which can be inhaled by nasal tube, and you can see the whole picture of Meili Snow Mountain when you open the curtains. There is a courtyard dam outside, drinking and singing around the fireplace, and there is an Indian super large tent, eating afternoon tea, lying on the lawn, waiting for the sunrise and sunset. We also have a free sightseeing bus service to take you to the foggy top village------- a tree on the net red ------- the foggy top thirteen white pagoda observation deck.

"If you are looking for one of the most affordable ways to wake up to the breathtaking sight of the Meili Snow Mountain, look no further than FANSU at WUNONGDING. Our stay here was nothing short of incredible. The primary reason for our visit was the sacred Meili Snow mountain, and the view absolutely delivered. Waking up to that majestic panorama right outside our window was a highlight of our entire trip. For the value, it's an unbeatable location. The hospitality here is what truly sets FANSU apart. The staff are super helpful and friendly, going out of their way to make us feel not just like guests, but like family. They created a homey and comfortable atmosphere that made it hard to leave. A special memory was made on our last evening when the staff taught us how to sing the beautiful ******* song ”FLY” by ANU. It was a spontaneous, joyful moment that we will cherish forever. A super big thank you to them for that! Regarding the food: we found the meals to be absolutely yummy and comforting. While we've seen some comments about the dinner being expensive, we found it perfectly reasonable for our usual dining expenditure, and more importantly, the quality and taste justified it. The breakfast was also lovely and set us up perfectly well for the day. We left with full hearts, amazing photos, and great memories. If you want an authentic, warm, and unforgettable experience facing the Meili Snow Mountain, we cannot recommend FANSU highly enough. There are 20 rooms in hotel, all facing the Meili mountain. The big glass windows make all the guests enjoy the spectacular Mountain View easily. There is a restaurant and a coffee house in hotel. There is buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner are also supplied during 12:00-21:30. Guests can enjoy coffee, wine, and deserts etc. in coffee house during 10:00-22:00. Outside the coffee house, there is a big platform on which guests can enjoy the first glory sunshine on the golden mountain Meili.

"You get a special access of the roof top of the hotel to watch the golden sunrise of Meili mountain! Room is perfectly clean, breakfast is nice, and the vibe is amazing. The room has such a spectacular view of the mountain! If you are a photographer though, I recommend a room with the balcony as taking photo through the glass window gives a bit of reflection. Even though the hotel is by the main street, the hotel has taken precautions (such as double glazed windows) to ensure a quiet and comfortable stay. The bed was really comfortable too! My only criticism is the temperature of the room is a bit warm (I stayed in October), and I don't think there was AC to help cool it down. It did cool down naturally later in the night though."

"Had an amazing stay at this mountain homestay. Personally, I think homestay is not the right name for it. It’s more of a luxury hotel experience on top of a mountain. Very lovely and friendly owner who got out of his way to find me some throat lozenges because I was having sore throat due to the dry air. Indeed, the 14km hike from Ninong to Yubeng is very tiring, but it is made up for as soon as we reached the hotel. It’s a perfect hotel for couples (or travelers) who wishes for adventures but also wants to have the luxury comfort of a good room, bed and food at the end of a long hike. Now we are spoilt as we will be using this experience as a benchmark for our next hiking + luxury stay adventures!"

Kim’s Youth Hostel is located in the backyard of Lower Yubeng and offers private ensuite rooms with basic shower amenities. It is about 5 mins walk to the main stretch of restaurants and shops at Lower Yubeng and 10mins walk to the transport pickup area (to Upper Yubeng/ Ninong Village). The room offers some views of the valley but is partially obstructed by buildings in front of it. Breakfast starts after 7.30am but our plans started earlier. We didn’t get the breakfast but chose to buy a 35rmb sandwich instead. The accommodation does not provide bottled water. Instead, there is a filtered water dispenser at the lobby/dining area to refill your bottles.

Wow! Words cannot really describe how wonderful this place is. We took the bus from Shangrila and the hotel picked us up at a designated spot for a quick 5 minute drive through some of the most spactacular mountain sunset views. Check in was quick, easy and within minutes we were shown to our room. The room was huge with a floor to ceiling window facing Meili Mountain, a bathtub and projector with huge screen. The sofa was so big I began to think it was a bed. The shower and toilet were spotlessly clean with beautiful large warm towels as well as some quality toiletries and bathrobes. The bedroom was well appointed with very large bed, writing desk and a good oxygen supply. The whole place had underfloor heating which was super comfortable. This little hotel has a rooftop bar/cafe with the most spectacular views. Drinks range from tea and coffee to some cocktails all of which are served with snacks by a very pleasant young man. He was super helpful each time we visited the bar and even made sure the stove was well stocked with logs on the night we wanted to stay late to see the stars. We had local breakfast at the hotel each morning which was of excellent quality and very filling. We also had our evening meals at the hotel and the quality was excellent with great flavour and variety. The staff are all super helpful and were able to recommend some local spots to visit as well as arrange a car to Feilai Temple and a car to take us back to Shangrila for a great price. The whole experience at Deqen Meili GY Banshan Homestay made me wish I had booked more nights. It was the highlight of my trip to Yunnan and I will definitely stay here again next time. I can highly recommend and I miss it so much!

With every interaction, they brought warmth, grace, and a genuine desire to make us feel at home. This is my absolute favorite hotel during my trip to China. The design is truly beautiful and full of cultural charm, with a stunning view of the snow-capped mountains - especially at sunrise. I really fell in love with the atmosphere here: cozy, calm, modern yet deeply rooted in local culture. It felt like a true vacation home, the perfect place to unwind after long days of traveling. I could see the mountains right from my balcony, but the best view is from the coffee area on the 4th floor. I also got to try several traditional activities during my stay, which made the experience even more memorable. The food was delicious - both breakfast and dinner - and despite the cold weather, the room stayed warm and incredibly comfortable. The hotel has everything you could possibly need, so you don’t even have to step outside. I'll definitely come back someday just for a relaxing getaway!

Lovely hotel with great view, although the weather was not good during the two days we stayed, we still had a great time despite not seeing the full meri mountains. They had promotional activities during the 5/1 holiday where we hand painted tongka, and made ******* weaving stone accessories. The staff was kind and polite. The design of the architecture is stunning, I would recommend all couples to stay at this hotel. The only downside is that nighttime dinner options are very limited, recommend guests to walk out to nearby premises to have dinner instead. The breakfast at this hotel was nice.

This hotel has the best location in Upper Yubeng, as it is only a short walk away from the main village while the rest of the hotels in the village are built very closely together. The view from the room is amazing too, just as advertised, though the weather was not good while we came the view of the mountains and Lower Yubeng was still beautiful. Room comes with smart toilet, heated floors and heated blankets. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable about the area and very quick to respond to queries on WeChat, which we appreciated. There is a stove heater in the middle of the hotel where you can have a cup of ginger tea and watch the hotel cats walk about. We also ordered dinner at their in-house restaurant and we enjoyed the food too. The hotel also has a cafe with good coffee and a viewing deck both on the roof which we could see Baima mountain very clearly during the time we were there. Would recommend everyone to choose this hotel when coming to Upper Yubeng.

I had an unforgettable stay at this beautiful hotel. The location is perfect—just about 20 minutes from the busy town center, which makes it wonderfully quiet and peaceful. Every morning, I woke up to an amazing mountain view that instantly set the tone for a relaxing day. The property itself is stunning, especially the vineyard, which adds so much charm. I loved the free wine tasting sessions, and the hosts were incredibly kind, caring, and always eager to make sure we had everything we needed. Their warm hospitality truly made the experience feel personal. The food was excellent, with every meal prepared thoughtfully and bursting with flavor. For those who love a bit of adventure, the ATV facilities are a fantastic addition. We also enjoyed grape plucking right in the vineyard—such a unique and fun activity! Overall, this place is a perfect blend of tranquility, great service, and memorable experiences. Highly recommended for anyone looking to unwind and enjoy nature with a touch of adventure. One small issue I had was that the air-conditioner was blowing warm air, but after I informed the team, they fixed it within a short time. Great service and quick response — really appreciated it!

I stayed here for 2 nights and had an amazing experience. The room provides a great view of the mountains with floor to ceiling windows and everything in the room, including the bed, chairs, clothes rack and bathroom, are well-maintained and clean. The room provides a sense of luxury and cleanliness during your getaway to this village. The location is excellent, as you are one of the first, if not the first accommodation facing the mountains, so the view is excellent. It is in a great location for exploring upper yubeng and the glacier lake. What made our stay unforgettable was the amazing service we received by the owner and staff whilst we stayed here. The lady provided us with everything we needed to know during our stay in yubeng, including sunrise times, and answered any and every question we had about yubeng as a whole. They provided an atmosphere that was very welcoming and it really does feel like I was invited to stay at their home. They provided free water and free laundry service, as well as free use of hiking poles for our hikes. The breakfast included was excellent and was different for each day we stayed, and they provide you with a free lunch pack to take on your hike, which was a nice gesture which we appreciated. Additionally, everyone here speaks both mandarin and cantonese, so if you're travelling from Guangdong or Hong Kong and would like to feel at home, this is the perfect place to be. Overall, this was an amazing accommodation to stay at due to the amazing service, location and facilities and the owner and her family really do treat you like family. I would highly recommend staying here, and if I ever come back to yubeng, I will definitely stay here again!

Highly recommend this hostel if you want to meet new people in Yubeng! Foreigner-friendly food (I recommend the beef fried rice!) and service (one staff member speaks English really well and others are happy to use translator apps). The only downsides about this hostel is that the toilets/showers for the dorm rooms need to be cleaned way more frequently (there was always mud from hiking boots everywhere) and the walls are very thin. If this is something that bothers you, then I would recommend you book a private room instead of the dorm. Other than that, I had a wonderful stay at this hostel!
