"I really liked the hotel overall
1. The staff was very nice and knew some english so conversation was possible. Fast response times in chat is good service
2. Breakfast was really good
3. Location is very good, got bus stops around the hotel and you can use google maps to know which buses to take, when they come. I used suica card on apple wallet or on app on the scanner when boarding the bus to get around. The bus which is like 5 minutes walk can take you to lake kawaguchiko, gotemba premium outlets, and more. You also got lawson within 4 minutes walk which is a pretty cool convenience store that also has things like katsu sandwiches and cheeseburgers for snacks, ogino a grocery store within 6 min walk, and some other soup restaurants like udon and hoto noodles
4. Close to the lake pier which is great for biking around Lake Yamanaka which was probably my favorite part of visiting besides the local food it is what I would say life changingly beautiful
5. The onsen which is inside the hotel was very relaxing and nice, and you can put cold water into it if its too hot

"This hotel may be a bit remote, but that’s exactly what makes it so peaceful—and absolutely perfect if you’re hoping to catch the sunrise. While you can’t see Mt. Fuji directly from the room, you only need to step out onto the road in front of the hotel to get an incredible view. I highly recommend waking up early to watch the sunrise over Mt. Fuji—it’s truly unforgettable.
The hotel also offers bicycle rentals, which is super convenient. I strongly recommend biking along the nearby cycling and walking paths; there’s a beautiful lakeside area with stunning, unobstructed views of Mt. Fuji, and best of all, it’s completely quiet with hardly anyone around.
The owner is very warm and welcoming. We rented a car so we didn’t need the free station pick-up service, but it’s great that they offer it—it makes getting there easy even without a car. Just make sure to buy any food or drinks you’ll need in advance, since there aren’t any stores or restaurants nearby.
The room was very spacious, well-equipped, and had a lovely traditional Japanese inn vibe. It was such a relaxing stay—I’d highly recommend this place if you’re looking for somewhere peaceful with a touch of old-school charm."

"The hotel gave us a fantastic experience. The sights are breathtaking and waking up to them is really unforgettable. The hotel has a simple and confortable onsen where you can relax at the end of the day (no fuji views). Location isn’t ideal, you are 25 minutes by foot away from the center or the lake, but the hotel offers a shuttle service to pick-up and leave you at the station or the FujiQ Highlands which is very convenient. Beds were incredibly confortable."

"It was great!! Stay comes with breakfast (Western/Japanese), abundant amenities including skincare range with masks and bath salts for the tub. Laundry was 300¥ per load which was alright. Has shuttle runs 3x in the morning which was convenient. During the day can take red line bus to drop off at main road then walk 5mins to hotel. Convenient location. Rooms was comfy not too small.. we could open two 28’ suitcases fully and still have walking space to move easily .
Last but not least.. most Important is that view we got at the roof top!! Outstanding!! We saw many people queuing up at Lawson to take pictures of Fujisan but then I think that roof top is still one of the best views.. !! Thanks HaoStay team! It’s was a fantastic stay and for your hospitality.!"

Fuji right from the villa and you can enjoy it from the balcony, rooftop terrace, and even the bathroom in some rooms. On clear days, it’s picture-perfect!
The staff were incredibly friendly and professional, with fluent English that made communication effortless – a huge plus for international travelers. They were attentive, helpful, and truly made us feel welcome.
The facility itself is super comfortable and modern. We loved the fully equipped kitchen, which was perfect for preparing our own meals. Everything was spotlessly clean, spacious, and thoughtfully designed for a relaxing stay.
If you’re looking for a luxurious, private escape with incredible Fuji views, friendly English-speaking staff, home-like comfort, and reasonable pricing, The Toki is the place. We’ll definitely be back! 10/10.

I absolutely loved my stay at Ubuya Hotel. Even though the hotel didn't respond to all of my request emails, they actually fulfilled almost everything I asked for — and exceeded expectations in so many ways.
Mount Fuji View – Breathtaking!
The room came with a full, unobstructed view of Mount Fuji, and it was truly awe-inspiring. The large window panels were spotless, which made the view even more magnificent. The room itself was very clean, comfortable, and well-maintained — exactly what you'd hope for in a luxury onsen ryokan.
Facilities & Onsen – Excellent
The public onsen was great and added so much to the relaxing experience. Facilities overall were clean, well-equipped, and thoughtfully maintained.
A5 Wagyu Dinner – Simply Outstanding
What impressed me the most was the full-course A5 Wagyu Shabu-Shabu dinner. It was a true culinary journey — from appetizer, sashimi, generous portions of premium Wagyu, to dessert and fresh fruits. The quantity and quality were top-notch. Every dish was presented beautifully.
Birthday Surprise – So Touching
The staff surprised me with a lovely birthday celebration, including a special gift from the hotel. The next morning, they even handed me a photo of the celebration with a handwritten message — such a warm and personal touch. It really meant a lot.
Breakfast – Delicious with a View
Breakfast was served in a scenic spot with another incredible view of Mount Fuji. There was a wide selection of Japanese and Western dishes — fresh, tasty, and beautifully arranged.
Final Thoughts
Ubuya Hotel gave me a truly unforgettable and emotional experience. From the majestic views, delicious meals, relaxing onsen, to their heartfelt service — I would definitely return and recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic and special stay near Mount Fuji.

The facilities inside the room are a little old and beddings are not so comfortable though the room is spacious. With a hot spa free of charge for guests, it’s really relaxing to enjoy that facility.

The view from the glamping tent is amazing with a private onsen that overlooks lake Yamanaka and mount fuji. The staff made our experience really smooth and unforgettable and even offered to drive us to the bus stop when they figured we didn’t have a car. Will definitely be back again as soon as we could.

The highlight of our stay was the view — and it’s no exaggeration. Whether it’s early morning when the summit catches the first rays of sunlight, or during a serene sunset, the unobstructed view of Mount Fuji reflected in Lake Kawaguchiko is simply unforgettable. I woke up early just to capture a time-lapse of the sunrise, and it was worth every second of lost sleep. We also filmed a sunset time-lapse, and again, Fuji didn’t disappoint.

Although the hotel offers a shuttle bus pickup service, we chose to walk from Kawaguchiko Station — and it was a delightful decision. The 20–30 minute stroll is scenic and peaceful. We even stopped by a local supermarket for some ice cream while enjoying views of Mt. Fuji in the background. It was an experience that made us feel like locals soaking in a perfect day.

We booked this resort near Mount Fuji very late, and we were really worried because almost everything was already sold out. But it turned out to be one of the most wonderful stays we’ve ever had on any of our trips to Japan.
The resort has several staff members who speak Vietnamese, and they helped us so much. Every time we needed to go somewhere, the shuttle bus took us to the station—even the times when I requested it late without booking an hour in advance, they still tried their best to arrange a pickup. Their kindness truly showed how much they care about their guests. From the driver to the front desk to the restaurant staff, everyone was incredibly warm, friendly, and always smiling. They were genuinely adorable and made us feel so welcomed.
Our room was a huge surprise: a massive apartment-style space with four beds even though there were only two of us, plus two bathrooms. Everything was clean, cozy, and very comfortable. The resort is located in a large forest, so the moment you step inside, you can smell the gentle scent of pine wood everywhere. The atmosphere feels grounding and refreshing—as if the Earth itself is recharging you.
One of the best parts is that they have dedicated areas for pets. I got to play with some of the guests’ pets, and it was honestly such a sweet experience. Breakfast was delicious every morning, in a very authentic Japanese style. I went down for breakfast every day, and the dining area has a beautiful view of Mount Fuji—I even recorded some stunning videos there.
I never imagined I would be able to book a resort this amazing. It seems like it has been operating for many years, with a rustic and warm charm that I absolutely fell in love with. Down at the reception area, they also sell all kinds of Mount Fuji souvenirs. When you’re out sightseeing in the Fuji area, you tend to buy a lot of souvenirs and snacks, which makes your bags very heavy—but the resort sells everything right there. I compared the prices, and they were actually much cheaper than the tourist spots, so we bought all our gifts there. Super convenient!
I genuinely want to come back to this resort for future trips. It is one of the best places I have ever stayed, and I absolutely adore it. Highly, highly recommended.
