Over all worst trip experienced in Japan after same to the country so many times. We miss the paid dinner by a hour. No refund or not even try to reserve any dinner for us. We thought, ok it’s mainly fault missing the dinner time. It starts getting bad after we checked in, It’s super cold during the winter time and the heating source are either from the kerosene heater or the AC. For AC it’s basically only blowing out cool air after turned “heating” for over 30min. Then we decided to turn on kerosene. The smell becomes unbearable after 20-40min.! Then it starts beeping with a sign “ventilation” we had to open the door to let he smell of engine oil out. Barely slept the night during to the smell and coldness. They in the morning around 10, here comes the check out time. We felt quite violated through out and quite inconsiderate service, the front desk seems very polite but a bit mean somehow. The elderly gentle man at the desk was nice and helpful. But for rest (most) of the faculties, For this very fake politeness not even any genuine sense of“trying to make it better”. Not really recommended.

The shuttle service ryokan provides after 1430 comes very handy especially with luggages and kids standing in the cold. Saves the hassle of taking the red bus line. Every room has a view of fuji-san which is just amazing. U can catch the breathtaking sunrise and sunset view right in the room. Food is perhaps the other major highlight of staying at ryokans, and the food at Fuji Ginkei are mostly hits. The kaiseki dinner is so satisfying even though they are serving in small portions. And they tasted amazing. The ryokan also included small snacks for guests to enjoy in room with sencha. They even put together a small celebration platter for us! Highly recommended. 🙌🏻

The hotel gave us a fantastic experience. The sights are breathtaking and waking up to them is really unforgettable. The hotel has a simple and confortable onsen where you can relax at the end of the day (no fuji views). Location isn’t ideal, you are 25 minutes by foot away from the center or the lake, but the hotel offers a shuttle service to pick-up and leave you at the station or the FujiQ Highlands which is very convenient. Beds were incredibly confortable.

The room is a comfortable size and offers a lovely view of Mount Fuji from the corner. It is clean and well equipped, with individual air-conditioning in the room. All the staff are friendly and provide excellent service. The hotel also has onsen facilities, including separate male and female as well as private onsen. Parking is available, located a short distance from the hotel.

Considered good for the value as the package come with buffet style breakfast and dinner plus additional service like onsen, free float liquid for dinner, complimentary coffee, drinks, snack, free shuttle bus and library for selected time. Easy to get there by using red line bus just a very short distance of walk. The staffs are friendly and helpful, able to communicate in English. The only con is the building very old, a bit run down, it's time for them to consider refurbishment, but overall it is clean.

The hotel is located next to the scenery park of the pond. The restaurants are within walking distance. Bus stop is very close to the hotel. The facilities inside the room are a little old and beddings are not so comfortable though the room is spacious. With a hot spa free of charge for guests, it’s really relaxing to enjoy that facility.

I woke up early just to capture a time-lapse of the sunrise, and it was worth every second of lost sleep. We also filmed a sunset time-lapse, and again, Fuji didn’t disappoint. ⸻ 🚶♂️ Getting There: Worth the Scenic Walk Although the hotel offers a shuttle bus pickup service, we chose to walk from Kawaguchiko Station — and it was a delightful decision. The 20–30 minute stroll is scenic and peaceful. We even stopped by a local supermarket for some ice cream while enjoying views of Mt. Fuji in the background. It was an experience that made us feel like locals soaking in a perfect day. ⸻ 🛏 Tatami Rooms: Authentic and Comfortable The tatami-style room was clean, spacious, and gave us a deeply authentic Japanese lodging experience. Sliding doors, futon beds, and traditional touches made our stay both relaxing and culturally immersive. ⸻ ♨️ Hot Springs: Cozy, Not Crowded The hotel features both indoor and outdoor onsen (hot springs). While not particularly large, they are a nice bonus to unwind after a day of exploring. Since they only accommodate a few people at a time, it’s best to avoid peak hours. ⸻ 🍱 Meals: Included and Delicious Our stay included both breakfast and dinner, and the food was outstanding. A beautifully arranged kaiseki-style dinner showcased seasonal ingredients, fresh sashimi, grilled seafood, and hot pots. Breakfast was equally satisfying with a variety of small dishes and a perfectly cooked grilled fish. Everything was crafted with care and served with hospitality. ⸻ 📝 Suggestions: • Bring a tripod if you’re planning to do photography or time-lapses — the view is too good not to capture properly. • Try both the indoor and outdoor onsen during quiet hours to fully enjoy the experience. • Use the shuttle service if you’re carrying large luggage, as the walk (while scenic) do take around 30 minutes. ⸻ ⭐ Final Verdict: 9/10 Hotel Mifujien is all about the view — and it delivers. Combine that with great meals, clean traditional rooms, and hot springs, and you have the perfect base to enjoy Mt. Fuji in all its glory.

The room indeed outlooks to the Fudji. The staff was happy to show me that right I came in. I was qurious to the end what did the private onsen meant. Obviously, it turned out to be not the exact yours onsen, but the hotel rooms shared ones. The good news you could make a reservation 2 times per day and be there alone.
