"This hotel is located in Aso district, up the mountain. Preferably to drive. Parking is complimentary. The room is spacious, with a living room and bathroom. Went for the onsen for hotel guests. It has indoor and outdoor onsen pools. I included 2 meals for my stay, breakfast and dinner. Worth the try for the buffet breakfast and dinner."

"Nestled right next to the river, near the village center. Close to the main walking street and attractions. Traditional Ryokan with very good hospitality. Excellent outdoor onsen, with many smaller private onsen in the annex building. Cozy environment, a really good place to relax. The Kaiseki dinner was really good! The curated selections were great in taste, textures and varieties. Best night's sleep in our 7 day tour of Kyushu. Breakfast was good as well, followed by sightseeing around Kurokawa Onsen before checking out. Truly enjoyed our stay here, thanks to their staff. Great people, lovely place."

"The location is very quiet, and the hot springs are right next to the stream, providing the best experience. The quality of the dinner and breakfast food is excellent, and the overall value for money is outstanding"

"This is the best hotel in Kurokawa! 1. Stuff is kindly meet you, explain everything and help as well as it possible. 2. Ryokan has 6(!) private bathes with different style. No extra payment,, no reservation. You can available status on your TV. During my staying there was at least one ready for use, no time all of them was using. 3. Water. Just perfect, has a right temperature and composition. Just put yourself into the bath and feel relaxed just since that second. 4. Rooms. Clean and fresh. 5. Open-air bath is cool to, for me a bit too hot. And I was the only one who use it during the dinner time. 6. I had only breakfast, but it is service in private room in dinner hall. Very delicious with various of dishes. 7. The hotel located at two sides of the river. Travelers could enjoy a scenic view from the bridge."

"One of the many ryokans in the area. Picked this ryokan due to the location to the bus station, but the hotel did pick up and drop off us at the bus station. The dinner was satisfying, and as we are not very big eaters, we were so full by the end. The stay comes with private onsen which requires reservation. Hospitality of the staffs are great."

"The hotel room has a great view, which makes me feel really relaxed. The hot spring is open until 11:00 p.m., which is perfect for unwinding. The only downside is that there’s no bathroom in the room, so you’ll have to use the public bath. If you can’t make it to the hot spring at night, there won’t be any other place to take a dip, so that’s a bit of a bummer. On the bright side, there’s a golf course right next to the hotel with a beautiful environment. Lots of locals and tourists come to play golf there. The room is also really big and comfortable, so you’ll feel like you’re sleeping in the sky."

"酒店位置在案內所旁邊上坡，小鎮中心走路約7、8分鐘路程，走到山水木花了我半小時；可以接待小童的 如實填寫人數就行；這次住一晚衹包早餐，這裡是在餐廳用餐，一個房間一個隔間，也不錯；温泉的話這家兩個室內兩個室外（男女各一），四個私湯（沒去試，因為單獨收費加上並沒有特別好的景色，私湯就在去大池的走廊上，感覺怪怪的），總體壹之井不大，房間的兩層總共就10間房吧（好像），服務都很好，提前一天郵件告知到達時間，司機爺爺會在車站接你，隔天離開我因為臨時想去泡車站附近的ikoi美人湯，於是退房後行李留在酒店，到時間司機爺爺直接送到了車站（會主動問你離開的公交時間）這點非常不錯，哦還有，入住的時候還到時間前台小姐姐知道我們要去山水木主動給了毛巾浴巾還有拎袋，這個非常不錯幫了很大的忙。有會説中文的湖北小姐姐，總體不錯的，不過下次有機會再來黑川，很喜歡這裏"

"An absolutely wonderful experience.
The staff at the ryokan were incredibly polite and always ready to help with anything we needed. Upon check-in, we were provided with traditional attire, pajamas, tabi slippers, bath amenities, and a small welcome treat with matcha and coffee. We also asked at the front desk if they could give us a ride to the bus stop after check-out, and they kindly said yes, of course. 
Our room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. At first, we were planning to explore several other local onsens, but after experiencing the ones at the ryokan, we felt completely satisfied. There are separate baths for hotel guests (men’s and women’s), baths open to both guests and visitors (also divided by gender), as well as a private onsen. One of the onsens also has a sauna.
The traditional dinner and breakfast were both impressive—delicious and very generous in portion.
The surrounding grounds are stunning, perfect for peaceful walks. This ryokan is a bit further from the main cluster of inns, but that was exactly what we wanted—to enjoy quiet walking.
At night, our futons were laid out for us, adding to the authentic experience. The only reason I deducted one star is the very bright green light on the ceiling that stays on all night and can’t be turned off or covered. I didn’t have a sleep mask with me, and the ryokan didn’t provide one, so I had a sleepless night. It was quite unpleasant.
That said, I still highly recommend this ryokan—it’s an unforgettable place to stay."

"酒店位於高原的平原上，空氣清新，附近風景很美，但地點比較偏遠適合自駕遊旅客，去阿蘇火山很近。 我入住新館，因為剛剛翻新，所以房間比較大，房間裝修很新，佈置簡潔，陽台外風景很美，住得舒適。 前台服務員是外籍人士，容易溝通及有禮貌，當我查問有沒有房內有私人溫泉池的房間可讓我們升級入住時，服務員主動為我安排一個家族風呂在我們指定的時段免費享用，這點很貼心。 酒店提供的自助晚餐及早餐一般，食物款式不算多及不夠熱，這是唯一令我們失望的地方。"
