"We stayed for one night, checked in early at 1.45pm. Room was beautiful, as seen in the pictures provided. Able to see both the mountain and the sea, view was beautiful. However, there’s construction going on currently, and it starts to get pretty noisy as early as 8am. Other than that, it’s good.
As we were a family of four staying in this room, we noticed that the room supplies were only for two (we only had two towels, disposable toothbrushes etc given). Had to call for room service for them to provide the additional supplies. Pillow is quite soft as well, don’t forget to ask for more pillows (if needed) before bedtime.
Beautiful room/hotel in general :) Would stay again after construction’s done.

Guests have plenty of activities to keep them busy with swimming, beach volleyball, tanning, diving, snorkeling, massage, table tennis and chess and cards games in the game room.
"We were unlucky to stay in the hotel during typhoon. So we could not enjoy any of the facilities as they have nothing indoor. The hotel has excellent location but besides that it was just an average hotel. The worst thing is the attitude of staff. A male staff on reception was very rude and did not want to answer any questions or help us. This was the first time when we asked hotel to give us baby potty but were refused, they said it’s only provided in family rooms. If hotel has them why not to provide it by request to make life of guests comfortable?.. this shows the low level of services. The hotel makes money on Russian tourists who come via agents and they don’t care about their quality. I’ve been in Sanya many times in different hotels but service of this hotel was one of the worst… breakfast is very poor, basic Chinese breakfast , but there is even no yogurt for breakfast, which is typical in Chinese hotels. In terms of cleanliness, the water jar in the room was full of black mold, and the water was licking from the sink, finally chopsticks in their restaurants were dirty, which was horrible! The facilities are quite old. Our fridge did not work, but we didn’t know it as the light there was on, so we put milk inside to find out later that it became bad so we threw it away :-( The price is reasonable but only for bigger rooms, the standard room is extremely small."

"We stayed at this resort recently and while the property itself is beautiful, our experience with service and communication was disappointing.
From the very beginning, the front desk communication was poor. Even with a translator device, there was little warmth, courtesy, or effort to make us feel welcome. Given that we do not speak Chinese, language became a major barrier. We were not informed how best to contact the hotel for requests, and when we tried calling room service and reception several times, the calls were disconnected due to communication difficulties.
Eventually, I had to go down to the front desk to express my frustration. At that point, one staff member, Xiao Jiang, kindly shared her WeChat and personally helped us with our requests. I sincerely thank her for her support and professionalism.
At checkout, one room key was temporarily misplaced, and the front desk insisted we pay 50 yuan for the lost card. They made a big issue out of it, even though such matters are usually handled with courtesy. Thankfully, we found the card in time. This incident was not about the money, but about attitude and hospitality, which were lacking.
That said, the hotel has a fantastic location, beautiful views, comfortable rooms, and an excellent breakfast. I would still recommend this resort to friends and family for the property itself. However, I strongly suggest the hotel improve its approach to language support and guest communication. Even small improvements in courtesy and communication can make a big difference for international guests.
For this reason, I am giving three stars for service and communication, while the location, rooms, views, and facilities deserve five stars."

VVieraskäyttäjäThe Banyan Tree Resort Sanya in my personal opinion one of the best holiday resorts I have ever experienced It was absolutely perfect, the resort environment was amazing and the attention to detail was beyond 5 stars. The staff at the hotel were all able to speak in english to me and made my visit very convenient. The front office manager Iris was not only extremely friendly but also absolutely amazing in accommodating everything I asked for in a very prompt and professional manner.
The private beach at the resort was amazing with very calm and clean waters making relaxing at this resort devine, the facilities at this resort are immaculate , everything from the restaurant, corridors to perfectly stocked souvenir shop was amazing.
The resort is located a 10 minute taxi to the local town we enjoyed water activities such as surfing and diving we participated in and a selection of restaurants for all pallets however the restaurant at the hotel was delicious with a range of western and Chinese food. We choose the wagu burger and pizza and the food tasted exactly as we get back home.
I Fully recommend the Banyan Tree Resort Sanya to any westerners looking for a premium resort in Chinas paradise island.

MMaolixiongxiaoanLaskeuduimme 16. päivä ja kirjauduimme sisään klo 15.30. Aulassa oli aika paljon ihmisiä, mutta olen käynyt Senbo Water Park Hotellissa aiemmin, ja siellä oli aina tällaista, joten ymmärrän sen. Vastaanotossa sanottiin, että huonetta siivotaan, joten kirjauduimme sisään ja menimme katsomaan Lost World -akvaariota kasvojentunnistuksen avulla. Kaksikerroksinen, supersuuri lattiasta kattoon ulottuva lasiakvaario, haita, kilpikonnia, kaloja, maitovalaita, merenneitoesityksiä, antakaa minulle tuoli, niin voin istua siellä koko päivän!
Kahden lapsemme isoveli täytti juuri 12 vuotta, ja häntä pidettiin aikuisena. Hän sanoi haluavansa lisätä 600/päivä. Kysyimme, voisimmeko hakea sitä vain muutaman päivän kuluttua. Vastaanotto auttoi heti pyytämisessä ja luopui siitä hyvin inhimillisesti.

Vaikka vaihtaisinkin useita erityyppisiä hotelleja suunnitelmassani, vaikka olisin yöpynyt ylellisemmässä merinäköalahuoneessa, tulen aina tänne yöpymään muutamaksi päiväksi. During our stay, it happened to be our baby’s second birthday. Sharry prepared a birthday surprise for us that went far beyond anything we expected. It was not just a simple room decoration, but a genuine celebration of a child’s growth, done with real care and heart.
The room was beautifully decorated, but what moved me the most was this: almost all hotel staff personally wrote handwritten birthday wishes for our baby, folded each note into a heart, and placed them together in a glass bottle. Seeing that bottle filled with so many handwritten messages from different people was incredibly touching. It wasn’t just five-star service — it was warmth, sincerity, and human connection.
What made this experience even more special was that Sharry learned we had stayed at JW Marriott Khao Lak, Thailand, in October last year, and that our wonderful experience there was the reason we chose the JW Marriott brand again. After hearing this, she went the extra mile and coordinated with the team in Thailand to record a birthday greeting video for our daughter.
Receiving birthday wishes months later from familiar faces we had met before, from another country, was incredibly emotional and meaningful for us. It truly showed a level of care and connection that is very rare.
The hotel also prepared a birthday cake for our baby, and the next day surprised us again with a lovely animal-themed cake. The care didn’t stop at one moment; it continued throughout our stay.
In addition, our room was upgraded, and during the entire stay, Sharry checked in with us daily about our experience, always attentive but never intrusive. This kind of thoughtful, genuine service made us feel truly valued and well taken care of.
Objective feedback:
• The sound insulation of the room door is not very strong, and corridor noise can be noticeable
• Breakfast is average, without many highlights
• It would be great if the breakfast area could include clear allergen labeling, which would be very helpful for guests with food allergies
• The hotel feels more business-oriented and mature in style, and the overall resort atmosphere is not particularly strong
Overall, this is a hotel with solid facilities and exceptionally warm, thoughtful service. The sincere, unrequested, and carefully executed details made this stay truly special and memorable.

BBarbora L.A major downside was that even at 9:30 in the morning, towels were not prepared at the pool, and we had to wait quite a long time for them.
Also, be aware that the beach does not have sufficient capacity of sunbeds or towels, so it’s better to bring one from the hotel.
It would be nice if the staff, both at the pool and in the restaurant, had a more polished and consistent grooming standard. Some of the uniforms looked worn out, with faded T-shirts.
On the positive side, the hotel is continuously maintained, which is a plus. It is a nice hotel with good kids’ activities, although it is worth mentioning that it is starting to show some signs of wear.
Another advantage is the variety of shopping and dining options around the hotel.
A trip to Yalong Tropical Paradise Forest Park is just a few minutes away and definitely worth visiting.
For English-speaking guests, Sophie was a great help. She checked in with us several times during our stay to make sure everything was fine, and she was very kind and helpful. However, the rest of the staff mostly speak only Russian and Chinese.
This is also reflected in the breakfast area, where many of the dishes are labeled only in Russian and Chinese. An English translation would be highly appreciated.

TTulippinoHotel feels very old fashioned style and service attitude wasn’t so nice. At 3 room wasn’t ready and no one even apologised and even didn’t offer us water. We got the room only at 4:00 and it was very disappointing just opposite the elevator, despite the fact that we asked room away from elevator in advance. They tried to change us another room but also opposite the elevator. Finally manager helped us to solve this issue and offered us better room in better condition and with beautiful view. Hotel area and swimming pool is good and pleasant, but for this money you can get much better conditions in new modern hotel.

EE.DeI really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The location is perfect, just a few minutes’ walk to the beach, which made it easy to relax and enjoy the ocean. The food was tasty with lots of options, and the hotel itself felt very comfortable and welcoming.
I want to give a special thanks to the room attendant, Xi Qiang. He was so kind and attentive, always keeping my room clean and cozy. His friendly service truly made me feel at home.
Overall, this hotel has everything you need – great location, good food, a nice atmosphere, and wonderful staff. I would be happy to come back again and highly recommend it to others.
