"Overall, our stay was nice. The hotel is clean, every noon they’re changing and cleaning staff in the room. Soundproof of the hotel may be not that good, but for me it was okay. The hotel is in 5 minutes reach to the subway. The location is pretty good, a lot of restaurants and shops nearby. The minuses for me were: no toilet brush, bedside table on only one side. And although it is indicated that the room is designed for 2 people, there was only 1 chair at the table. There is also no phone to contact the reception. And there is no closet also, so it’s not convenient to store things."

"Absolutely fantastic hotel! The staff was amazing. The hotel was incredibly comfortable. Old school beds, but slept great. The charm is perfect, the location is amazing. And the staff was attentive to anything requested. Large quantity of fresh fruit delivered to the room each day at no charge. Refreshments and water. If ever back in knowing this will absolutely be the place I stay! Strongly recommend it to anyone and everyone."

"Great location and very clean. We loved the variety of food nearby! Pro tip: the first time finding the place can be tricky (took us 30-40 mins), but once you know the way, it’s a quick 10–15 minute walk to the high-speed rail station via a shortcut. The room space is a little tight for four people, but perfect if you just need a clean base to explore the city."

"Location and amenities were great but only one big issue I really can't swallow. For the two days that I went out and clicked on the Do Not Disturb tab, both days my room was entered and cleaned up. I called the front desk to clarify if that was routine - the cleaners entering the room even if the DND button was up - and the reply was ”如果旅客不需要打扫卫生可以跟前台说一声我们再通知保洁 (If travellers doesnt require a room makeup, they can inform the front desk and we will inform the cleaners” which I asked then what's the point of installing the DND button and make up room button separately. I am pissed because I trusted that no one was going to enter the room and technically, supposedly could be in contact with my belongings as had my luggage was unpacked and lying around. Now that they breached this trust and while nothing was missing, who can possibly assure that no one touched my things or had strangers entering the room in the process. I will avoid staying here in the future and choose another place that doesn't require me to go that extra step of pressing the DND button AND informing the front desk, which is pure ridiculous."

"We upgraded our standard room for a balcony room with a beautiful river view. The staff were really friendly and helpful! The hotel is in a great location, within walking distance to cute coffee shops and other tourist areas. The hotel is very clean and was really a joy to stay at."

"Stayed 3 days and extended for another day. The room is clean. Front desk Zhang Yue is helpful and friendly, gives us a lot of guidance. Will definitely stay again if coming to nanjing. Oh nearly forgotten breakfast is great!"

"I stayed at this hotel over a weekend, and it was completely sold out (fully booked). Having lived in Nanjing previously, I know this hotel is quite famous, but I honestly cannot understand the five-star rating. The room wasn't dirty, but it was incredibly poorly maintained. The lobby is gorgeous, and the first-floor restrooms gave me the impression that the whole place would be pure luxury, but the room itself was, at best, a three-star experience. The issues were clear: The wallpaper was peeling, the furniture was scuffed and worn, the ceiling was very dirty, and the sink was separating from the counter. The hotel needs a massive, urgent renovation to truly justify calling itself a five-star establishment! The location is excellent, and I have no complaints about the cleanliness. The front desk staff was very cordial and polite. However, I sent a message via the Ctrip app before my stay, and it was never answered. Upon arrival, we were offered an upgrade to a ”lake view” on the 23rd floor. Frankly, it was nothing special. The windows were not exactly clean on the outside, and the view didn't impress me. I appreciate the hotel for the upgrade, but much more improvement is needed. Hotel prices in Nanjing are quite high, especially the weekend I stayed due to the marathon. However, paying 355 yuan for a ok hotel was not worth it; I should have spent a little more for a place with newer facilities and better aesthetics. I've stayed in many hotels across China, and I can guarantee this one is nowhere near a true five-star rating. I thank the kind staff for their service, but the management needs to address the urgent maintenance issues. P.S. Oh, and for those who don't speak Chinese, watch out for those master switches! (Last pic) I pressed one before bed and all the lights went off, and I thought, ”Wow, that's handy! One switch to turn off everything in the room, I like it.” Turns out, that switch didn't just turn off the lights—it cut all power to the room. So, our phones were completely dead when we woke up in the morning! 🤡"
