Good location as it was near many eateries. Excellent service from the staff who went above and beyond the norm for the customers. Unfortunately, we had cpme for the fruits we saw in the pictures and had read about in the review only to find out that there were no fruits at all. The fruits were only provided on the first day of opening. Fortunately, there are a number of fruit stalls within 5-8mins walking distance nearby. We also found our family queen room to be a bit too simple as it lacked a sofa. Kudos to the team for bringing up another few chairs so we could have a place to sit. You can also borrow a wheelchair if you need one, and you can bring it out of the hotel as well. The beds were a bit on the medium /less firm side. I would have preferred a firmer bed but I understand this is probably to cater to the more international crowd. Breakfast was also a bit too simple, both in variety and taste. But the hot soy milk was good. We didn't eat much as well. Fortunately there were many eateries nearby so it was not a big issue. Just a suggestion, this place would have been perfect for many travellers if they offered 4 single beds instead of 2 big beds. I look forward to coming back to stay again if can consider offering 4 single beds instead of 2 big beds.

10/10 Stay! The best service we've ever experienced. The hotel's location is great, but the staff are the true stars. We mistakenly booked a basement family room, they generously upgraded us to a beautiful river room for free! They even gave us a tour to pick our favorite one. The new room was spectacular, modern, and spotlessly clean. Huge thanks to the wonderful team for their kindness and professionalism. We will definitely be back!

This is the first time I've had an absolutely 10/10 experience with any hotel. This particular hotel also outranks every other Marriott I've ever stayed at. I genuinely could not think of a single negative point. I was only in Nanjing for 2 nights, in town for a meeting, and I'm so glad I chose to stay here. Firstly, the room is exactly as advertised. Marriott hotels always have the fluffiest pillows, but this particular hotel had the most HEAVENLY pillows. The bed was so comfy that I ended up postponing my day plans just so I could sleep in! I didn't realise how desperately I needed that rest and recuperation, and am glad I chose to stay here and get what I needed. Also, this hotel does not skimp on the water - most hotels will only give you 2 tiny bottles a day, which if it's blazing hot outside, can be frustrating, especially if you want to boil water for tea/coffee in the morning. This hotel provides 4-5 complimentary bottles of water per day. In many ways, I felt like they anticipated what I'd need and would provide it before I even had the chance to ask. There is also an ironing board stowed in the room, which for me was a lifesaver as I had an important meeting. As other reviewers have mentioned, the location is indeed fantastic. I was so relieved to find that after a long train journey, I only needed to hop on the subway for 1 stop - I didn't even need to exit the building, as the hotel is located inside the mall connected to the subway station. The breakfast spread is not too bad either, with the highlight for me being the espresso machines. When I tell you this machine delivers the most divine coffee in 10 seconds, I am not kidding. It was one of my favourite things and a great way to kickstart a busy day. At check-in, the reception staff ensured they gave me all the info I needed. I noticed this is often skipped at other hotels as staff are shy or reluctant to speak in English, which results in foreign guests missing out on relevant info or complimentary perks - but the Marriott team refused to let language be an obstacle. I was glad to learn free snacks and coffee were available in the executive lounge each evening. While I was there, the executive lounge manager - I think her name is Sheila, apologies if I've gotten this wrong - took the time to introduce herself and ask if I needed anything. She was so polite and genuinely seemed to want to improve the experience for guests. To me, these small touches are what set a service-oriented luxury hotel apart from others. On my first night, I'd arrived pretty exhausted after having sat on a delayed train for hours, and I wanted to order takeaway as I didn't have the energy to go out. They have ******* lockers positioned right at the hotel entrance, which you can unlock with your phone and collect your deliveries. Being a foreigner who doesn't understand Chinese very well, I wasn't sure how to navigate this, but the reception staff went out of their way to help me, ensuring they stayed with me until I'd collected my parcel - it was not at all necessary for them to help me so much, but they did, and I'm very grateful for that :) I spent the entire month traveling in China and so, looking back, am able to compare all of the hotels and experiences from this trip. This particular hotel ranks 10/10 for me not only because of the location, but also because of the kindness and professionalism of staff. Things can sometimes be confusing or overwhelming for foreigners, and this was the only hotel where staff didn't hesitate to rush in and offer to help, no matter how small the issue. Even the gentleman at the coffee bar in the lobby was so kind and polite - and might I add, everyone at this hotel speaks English, so they really do cater to an international crowd. Housekeeping staff too were very sweet, always greeting you and asking if you needed extra bottles of water. Thank you for a relaxing, delightful stay! I hope to come again and stay longer next time.

During my four-day, three-night stay, I thoroughly enjoyed myself and relaxed amidst the friendly hosts, clean facilities, and quiet surroundings. The only drawback was that the buffet selection was the same every day. Aside from that, the drinks and cocktails at the U-Bar were incredibly refreshing and delicious. I'd like to thank Joji and Kelly for their special attention and hospitality. Even though we didn't have a Korean host, they did their best to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Incidentally, a Korean host came on our last day, so I think Koreans can also stay here without worry. I'd love to visit again if I have the chance.

We had a very pleasant stay at this location arriving late of the day before heading out the next day. This location provided a very convenient transfer stop for us with reasonable pricing. The front desk promptly helped us change to a double bed room when we mistakenly booked a queen bed room. The room was very clean, quiet, and comfortable. The only inconvenience we found was the shower tap hot & cold water direction being wrongly positioned.

My stay at the Ritz Carlton Nanjing was full of twists and turns. Somehow, they hadn’t checked the room for problems before letting guests check in. The air conditioners were off even the housekeeping said the temperature would be dropped after 10 mins, the technician came and said the air cond unit's engine was off. The shower water pressure was unstable, freezing during use, and the gap at the shower door is too wide, causing water to leak out. The TV next to the bathtub couldn’t be used at the beginning, it turned out the remote control was out of battery. Overall, the design style of the room combines modern Chinese and Western vintage elements. You can spend your lazy afternoon with a cup of Yuhua tea in your room. The spa, gym, and pool are located on the 40th floor. The masseurs and staff are professional and friendly. You could enjoy your me-time or work out in a relaxing atmosphere. Special thanks to Zoey and Yuki, very generous and helpful staff. Honestly, my 5-star service goes to the manager, Mr. Gray, at the executive lounge, he provided outstanding service! He is very genuine and sincere. He knew that our return flight was delayed and offered us the opportunity to rest in the lounge until we were ready to leave. Besides, there is one more staff Mr. Jon from the concierge, he recommended us to go to several local places in Nanjing to try the local food, exploring the traditional Nanjing in a different way. Five-Day Stay in Nanjing Check-in Experience We arrived early at around 6 AM due to the difficulty of booking train tickets during the holiday season. Although check-in was at 3 PM, the staff kindly accommodated us with an early check-in for an additional fee. Accommodation We stayed in two types of rooms during our visit: Single Room - Spacious and located in a peaceful, quiet area of the property. RV Room - Situated near the camping area where families and friends gather around a large bonfire for singing, BBQ, and games. **Ratings** Staff: 8/10 - Friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. Shuttle Service: 10/10 - The driver was exceptionally pleasant and always smiling. Since my daughter has asthma and walking long distances is difficult for her, we frequently requested shuttle service between locations. This was especially helpful as ride-share drivers typically drop off at the entrance, which is quite a walk from the rooms and facilities. Breakfast: 10/10 - Excellent variety of traditional Chinese dishes. They were accommodating when my husband requested takeout. Cleanliness: 10/10 - Both rooms were clean, including the beds, towels, and bathrooms. As my daughter’s asthma is triggered by dust, I was pleased that the rooms were clean enough that she didn’t experience any sneezing or symptoms. We all slept well for the entire five days. **Things to Consider** It’s highly recommended to have your own car, as the property is quite far from the city center. If you enjoy nature and outdoor activities, this place is ideal. Activities include: - ATV rides - Fishing area - Playground (note: adults are charged rather than children, so it’s more economical for only one adult to enter) - Small animal area featuring rabbits, ostriches, and llamas (15 RMB entry) - Train ride (30 RMB) The coffee shop has a wonderful atmosphere and aesthetic appeal, making it popular for photos. The property itself is spacious and perfect for leisurely walks. There’s also a temple nearby, approximately 20 minutes away by car. **Challenges We Faced** My daughter developed a fever and experienced diarrhea during our stay. When I called the front desk for help, the staff member wasn’t very accommodating and suggested my husband go buy medicine. This was difficult for us as foreigners who don’t speak the language well. I felt sad and helpless, especially when we couldn’t get any taxis or cabs to pick us up. We wanted to take her to the hospital, but no cabs were available. However, the next morning, a staff member spoke with me who was extremely kind and accommodating. They even offered to drive my daughter to the hospital, which I declined because we needed to catch our train and she was feeling better after taking medicine. They drove us to the South Railway Station and thoughtfully gave my daughter bags and drinks. It was a very kind gesture that we truly appreciated.

Giving 100/10, because it is the most welcoming community I’ve met so far! They have a bar on the first floor with live music on weekends, and everything was clean, because the place is new. Staff is kind and caring, I felt safe and welcomed as a foreigner. There are some nice Muslim restaurants not far from the place too.

Cleaning service should be improved. When you arrive in the room it is clear that they do not deep clean between one client and the other, cause the floors are not clean, there is dust, spider webs and there is heavy dirt in the corners of the room and behind the bathroom. Prp: the bed of the room I got was very comfy and soft. The room had a closet to store my clothes, and a big desk that was very convenient for me. The area around the building is very lively with a lot of restaurants and it's quite near the subway and train station (walking distance around 10-15 min). Cons:They should decide if they want you to provide an apartment or hotel service, they are not very clear what their aim is since they don't provide hotel service for short stays (like daily cleaning, they only take the rubbish but don't cleam bathroom and floors) but not even apartment service for longer stays (such as dish soap or a pot to cook, or things to clean the apartment on your own). They provide kitchen and washing machine with no cleaning products or kitchen appliances, not even soap to wash the mugs they provide (that were dirty). The people who work at the reception are friendly but completely disorganised. The first day I was locked out three times from my room cause they could not provide me with a proper keycode and finally gave me a key which I had to sit on the floor to open each time cause it was the emergency key of the electronic dial thing that there is on the door. One day I came back and the cleaning lady took out my electricity card even if I had food in the fridge that could have gone bad. They said that I should not use electricity and the A/C too much otherwise I should have paid more. They never stated this nor on the website or in person. After not providing me with good service, theh repeatedly asked me to give them good reviews and send them a screenshot of a 5 stars review, instead of asking me how to improve their service. Overall, when I booked the price was worth it but I would not book it again now that the price is more expensive.
