"This is a fairly new and trendy place in a beautiful converted old barracks. It had a ”buzzy” feel to it, and is conveniently in walking distance of both the station and the town centre. The room was mostly good - everything was spotlessly clean, the bed was comfy, and the coffee machine and kettle were nice to have. However, there was a big set of stairs to get up to them, so do check with staff while booking if you have any accessibility issues, and it made a midnight loo trip quite the adventure! As for issues with the room, firstly the shower wasn't great. It had two separate hot and cold taps rather than a mixer, so it was a little difficult to get the right temperature. The shower hose was also quite new and stiff, so the shower head kept spinning around to point at the wall. The Aircon positioning is also a little odd too - the unit is in the upstairs part over the bed, but the thermostat is in the significantly chiller downstairs by the door, so I woke up in the middle of the night with hot air being blasted at me!"

"Beautiful hotel with perfect view of a cathedral from our twin room. Hotel is in a historic building with lovely architectural features by the canal and the room we were in was a cleverly designed ”duplex” with the bathroom and sinks on the upper floor (ie loft) which made full use of the almost double volume ceiling in the smallish twin room we were in. The only drawback was that the steps were narrow and steep and would pose a problem if one had mobility issues. The toilet was located by the door next to the entrance but there was no sink for handwashing. Alcohol gel in a pump bottle was provided. There is a café, lifestyle / clothes shop and supermarket in the same building. Very convenient and the hotel's location was walkable to all the sights in Ghent central. The front desk staff were very polite and gracious and allowed us to store our luggage when we arrived before 11am, since check-in was strictly at 4pm. We were happy to find that our suitcases had been already delivered to our room when we returned to the hotel at 4pm. There are 2 bars in the hotel - one which is open to the public which was buzzing in the evenings and a guest-only ”Honesty Bar” (1st photo) in which hotel guests could purportedly help themselves to liquor and pen down what they had imbibed - but I never saw anyone in it ! This could be due to a lack of ice or mixers. Or glasses. 🍸"

"Fantasies location, literally next door to the cathedral. Breakfast was pretty good, especially the make-your-own waffle machine. Free luggage storage. The photo of the hotel is from outside the cathedral."

"Overall, the room is clean and the receptionists are very helpful.  The only thing that disappointed me was that on the second day when I returned to the room, I found a big dead mosquito with its blood on the floor, and there was also a spot of blood on the sheet next to my pillow, which I am sure that it didn’t exist on the first day when I checked in. I hope the staff can be more attentive to such details when cleaning the room. But overall, I am quite satisfied with the stay and would recommend it."

"Location and the property are very nice nearby all the highlighted spots. House keeper is very helpful. (Room entry card was not working, I got a big help from her.) I deducted 1 point from the service of reception once she ignored my request of small spoon. Overall is great."

"It was a beautiful hotel that used to be a monasteries. The hotel was quiet big which consist 7 different building. The bad thing is that our room are in second floor, and the lift does not reach every part of the building. Al we have to go with the stairs."

"Kaiken kaikkiaan se on hyvä. Se on hyvin lähellä kaupungin keskustaa, joten liikkuminen on kätevää. Siellä on USB-pistorasioita, joten se on ihan ok, vaikka sinulla ei olisi adapteria. Aamiainen on runsas. Haittapuolena on, että huone on pieni ja sopii yhdelle hengelle, vaikka kaksikin mahtuu. Kylpyhuone on erittäin ahdas. Siisteydessä on parantamisen varaa; jopa wc-istuimessa oli jonkin verran jäämiä 😭"
