Hotellit aamiaisella kohteessa Gent

"This is a fairly new and trendy place in a beautiful converted old barracks. It had a ”buzzy” feel to it, and is conveniently in walking distance of both the station and the town centre. The room was mostly good - everything was spotlessly clean, the bed was comfy, and the coffee machine and kettle were nice to have. However, there was a big set of stairs to get up to them, so do check with staff while booking if you have any accessibility issues, and it made a midnight loo trip quite the adventure! As for issues with the room, firstly the shower wasn't great. It had two separate hot and cold taps rather than a mixer, so it was a little difficult to get the right temperature. The shower hose was also quite new and stiff, so the shower head kept spinning around to point at the wall. The Aircon positioning is also a little odd too - the unit is in the upstairs part over the bed, but the thermostat is in the significantly chiller downstairs by the door, so I woke up in the middle of the night with hot air being blasted at me!"

"Fantasies location, literally next door to the cathedral. Breakfast was pretty good, especially the make-your-own waffle machine. Free luggage storage. The photo of the hotel is from outside the cathedral."

"I just needed the towel. Everything was great. Staff were friendly, people living in the same room were also friendly and nice. We enjoyed talking to each other. The facility was managed very clean and seamlessly. I would really recommend the stay. Also, the view from the room was great!"

"Kaiken kaikkiaan se on hyvä. Se on hyvin lähellä kaupungin keskustaa, joten liikkuminen on kätevää. Siellä on USB-pistorasioita, joten se on ihan ok, vaikka sinulla ei olisi adapteria. Aamiainen on runsas. Haittapuolena on, että huone on pieni ja sopii yhdelle hengelle, vaikka kaksikin mahtuu. Kylpyhuone on erittäin ahdas. Siisteydessä on parantamisen varaa; jopa wc-istuimessa oli jonkin verran jäämiä 😭"

"Location is geared more toward those who intend to take quite a bit of daily intercity train trips like us. It's very, very near the ghent st Peters station. Hence, there is not much night activity or eateries around the area. But it's an easy bus ride toward the town centre thus its not too much of a hassle to travel within the city. Service at the main desk was professional and friendly. I stayed 4 nights there, and on the last day of my stay, the cleaning lady did not bother to clean the room or take out the trash. I complained about this to the front office lady, and she was apologetic and waived my city tax payment. Overall, I would still stay there if I need to go on daily intercity train trips as the price is actually quite reasonable. I only ranked the service as 4 stars due to the lapse of cleaning service on the last day."

"Generally the cleanliness of lobby floor public areas and room were above average 👍🏻👍🏻 Need to be careful when driving into that expo , ikea and the hotel zone as they located along with each others and shared the same directory board which the indicator bit small you might miss the hotel car park entrance The front staff he is super friendly and helpful 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 I would say the amenities is worth for the price 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻"

"Beautiful hotel with perfect view of a cathedral from our twin room. Hotel is in a historic building with lovely architectural features by the canal and the room we were in was a cleverly designed ”duplex” with the bathroom and sinks on the upper floor (ie loft) which made full use of the almost double volume ceiling in the smallish twin room we were in. The only drawback was that the steps were narrow and steep and would pose a problem if one had mobility issues. The toilet was located by the door next to the entrance but there was no sink for handwashing. Alcohol gel in a pump bottle was provided. There is a café, lifestyle / clothes shop and supermarket in the same building. Very convenient and the hotel's location was walkable to all the sights in Ghent central. The front desk staff were very polite and gracious and allowed us to store our luggage when we arrived before 11am, since check-in was strictly at 4pm. We were happy to find that our suitcases had been already delivered to our room when we returned to the hotel at 4pm. There are 2 bars in the hotel - one which is open to the public which was buzzing in the evenings and a guest-only ”Honesty Bar” (1st photo) in which hotel guests could purportedly help themselves to liquor and pen down what they had imbibed - but I never saw anyone in it ! This could be due to a lack of ice or mixers. Or glasses. 🍸"

"A pleasant hotel in Gent, the staff were super nice and helpful. The room was very clean and the view was broad. Wonderful stay, will come again next time."
