Beautiful property overlooking the Sidemen rice terraces. Every corner is an instagramable opportunity, because anywhere you turn to is beautiful. The infinity pools overlooking the rice terraces are another picture-perfect memento. The food is delicious, some of the best we had in Bali, and very well served. The staff is extremely helpful and warm, very friendly. We had lots of fun on the new year’s eve. The hotel is located is a small, charming village, which adds to the relaxing atmosphere. This is definitely a place for relaxation, resting and find you peace of mind. It is secluded but easy to arrange and travel to popular tourist spots. We arranged a one-day tour to visit some of these spots and our hotel guide/driver (Hardi) was absolutely fantastic and tireless catering to all our requests and even surprising us with some great suggestions and spots. We left the hotel with the feeling we would come back soon…and funny enough at the time I am writing this review, I’ve already booked another stay at Wapa di Ume Sidemen for April. 😄

We couldn’t have picked a better place to unwind than Mudunk Moding Plantation Nature Resort. While many visitors opt to stay near the beach, we were seeking peace, beauty, and immersion in nature—and this resort delivered all that and more. From the moment we arrived, the experience felt warm and welcoming. The staff greeted us with friendly smiles, refreshing welcome drinks, and cool towels. We were then whisked to our villa by a golf buggy—a small but thoughtful touch that set the tone for our stay. Our villa featured a heated jacuzzi and a private infinity pool—absolute heaven! The view was breathtaking, and the jacuzzi was already warm when we arrived. We jumped right in and couldn’t stop smiling. It was one of those perfect moments where everything just felt right. We stayed for two nights and dined at both on-site restaurants. The first evening at the Balinese restaurant coincided with happy hour (cocktails were buy one, get one free). Unfortunately, the cocktails were watery and lacked flavor, which was a letdown since I had envisioned sipping something lovely in the jacuzzi with that view. The food was okay but a bit bland—I would like to add some salt to bring out the taste. The western-style restaurant on the second night was a better experience. The dishes were more flavorful and suited my palate, though the fries were soft and resembled oven chips—crispy fries would’ve made the meal more satisfying. Another minor downside was the limited beer selection. Guinness was on the menu but unavailable during our stay. A broader or more reliable selection of drinks would elevate the dining experience for guests who enjoy a cold one with a view. On the brighter side, the floating breakfast was a standout—absolutely sensational! You can order anything from the menu as long as you don’t waste food. We devoured everything on the first day. On the second, the only thing I couldn’t finish was the sweet green beans with chia seeds—too sweet for my taste, but everything else was delicious. I also treated myself to a spa massage, and it was one of the highlights of my stay. The setting was tranquil, the therapist was skilled, and I left feeling completely relaxed and refreshed—exactly what I needed. Another detail I truly appreciated was the resort’s commitment to environmental sustainability. There were no plastic products in the room, which reflects their thoughtful effort to protect the natural surroundings. If I could suggest one improvement, it would be better ventilation in the bathroom—perhaps a window or enhanced airflow. Despite the minor flaws—the cocktails, fries, and beer options—the serene atmosphere, impeccable service, stunning views, and thoughtful touches made this an unforgettable getaway. Mudunk Moding Plantation Nature Resort will absolutely be my first choice when I return to Bali. If you’re someone who values peace, nature, and the joy of escaping to a tranquil paradise, this is the place for you.

We went for our 20th wedding anniversary and could not have been happier with our choice! This place is stunning both inside and out. We were amazed by how beautiful the surroundings were with every detail well thought out. The room was stunning and well laid out. When we arrived they had cooled down the room and heated the pool which was the absolute perfect temperature the entire time. Having a wam pool was a big part of how much we enjoyed our stay as we spent quite a bit of time in it. The room and outside patio area was very private and we felt as though we were the only ones there at times. The food was also amazing whether we ate at the poolside restaurant, the high end restaurant Aperitif, or eating in the Pinstripes Bar. We really enjoyed the bar and the staff there. They were so attentive and everyone made us feel right at home. We enjoyed great conversations there and got some good recommendations on things to see in the area. The drinks were really next level as these bartenders know their craft. It was fun to watch them mix the drinks and they explained the science behind what flavors they were combining and how some of the spices and other ingredients were locally sourced. The entire staff was also another highlight. Everyone we encountered could not have been more friendly and attentive. The general manager even took the time to sit with us to see how our stay was going and asking other questions that showed he was very committed to the property. We also like that this is a family owned property. They were staying there while we were there and it was clear they too all had a passion for excellence. We researched properties for months before deciding on Viceroy. We did spend a bit more in the end than we may have for other 5 star properties, but after reading some of the reviews at the other places, we kept circling back to Viceroy. We are so glad we did and in the end, the extra money still made the stay seem like a bargain. We have paid about the same for a tiny room in a substandard hotel in New York City and here we were treated like kings in one of the most beautiful spots we have ever stayed in. My wife and I stayed at Sanak Retreat for seven days last week, and I can honestly say the experience was absolutely excellent. We travel frequently and stay in many hotels, including five-star properties, and we are often disappointed by issues such as service standards, cleanliness, or basic things not working properly (like air conditioning). At Sanak Retreat, however, everything was 100% perfect. The attention to detail here is exceptional. From the moment we arrived there was a lovely car park and staff immediately helped carry our bags to the room. Check-in was relaxed and easy, done at the restaurant without having to queue at reception. My wife immediately commented that the room was absolutely spotless. Everything was exactly as it should be — soap, tissues, air conditioning, and all amenities working perfectly. Nothing was missing and nothing malfunctioned. Everything was presented meticulously. Over the entire seven-day stay, the quality of service never faltered once. The food at the restaurant was absolutely delicious. The chef clearly has that special je ne sais quoi that elevates the dishes and makes them feel truly special. While the food prices are moderately higher than eating outside, the quality difference is significant. We tried eating outside the retreat once or twice and were very disappointed by comparison, so we happily ate most of our meals at the retreat. Our room was not particularly large, but it was more than adequate. The internet was excellent, the king-size bed was comfortable, and the bed linen was perfectly clean. We had a single villa overlooking the rice terraces, and it was simply beautiful — quiet, peaceful, and filled with the natural sounds of the surrounding landscape. The swimming pool was another highlight. It was spotlessly clean and a pleasure to swim in. Although it is not heated, by the afternoon the sun warms it enough to make it very comfortable. As someone who swims regularly, I can say it is a great pool for exercise and extremely well maintained. Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with Sanak Retreat. It is a beautiful, peaceful place with outstanding service and attention to detail. I would 100% stay here again and highly recommend it.

Our stay at Homm Saranam Baturiti was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived at the lobby, we were welcomed by a breathtaking mountain view that immediately set the tone for a relaxing getaway. Walking into our two-bedroom villa, the kids were completely wowed. The villa was amazing—spacious, beautifully designed, and perfect for our family of five. It even had its own private plunge pool, incredibly comfortable beds, and cozy areas where you could relax with a quiet read. Our villa was conveniently located next to the main pool and gym, both of which we used daily. Breakfast had everything we needed to start our mornings right. One of the highlights of our stay was an intimate dinner at the upstairs restaurant. A big shout-out to Chef Erni and Ryan, who prepared our à la carte dishes with so much love. Every dish we tried was incredibly flavoursome and memorable. The location was also ideal for exploring nearby attractions. We visited Banyumala Twin Waterfalls, Handara Gates, and the Floating Temple, all of which were absolutely stunning. Homm Saranam Baturiti is a perfect blend of comfort, nature, and heartfelt hospitality. We would definitely return.

Sumberkima has an excellent Social Media Team because what you see in the pictures is similar to what you get (room-wise). However, what they don’t tell you is how there is absolutely nothing there except the programmes and activities that they run (for a price, of course). Honestly, the villas itself are beautiful. So if you intend to just stay in and chill, it’s probably fine, but i’m not so sure if it’s really worth traveling all the way there for the views as the views were…okay. Moving around the Sumberkima Resort is also a challenge as it is very hilly and the roads are not paved well. They do provide a buggy service that you can call, but again, unless you are doing one of their programmes or activities, there really isn’t much to do or see. The types of people you see there are “influencer” types and seem to belong to the more hip, ‘eat, pray, love’ kind of crowd. So if that’s your thing, then great! TLDR; PROS: - - beautiful villas - great amenities in villa - room service available on request - buggy service responsive and good (can bring you to anywhere in Sumberkima town for free, but the town doesn’t have much. We spent our time going to Alfamart to stock up on instant noodles and snacks) - they have a Whatsapp chat for your villa specifically, so service is good - staff are very helpful and friendly - resort food was pretty good CONS: - it is farrrrrrr (but this could be a good thing too if you really want peace and quiet) - the closest clinic is in the next town (~15 mins by car…i fell violently ill 1 of the days and was concerned about receiving medical care, so i asked the hotel staff) - resort is difficult to get around - many mosquitoes and spiders - resort and area don’t have much facilities unless you do their activities or programmes - if your villa is near the Yoga Chalet, you will hear music from the sessions - you may also hear prayer calls from the Mosques nearby - if you’re more introverted, you may not enjoy the crowd that goes to these places

위치는 너무나도 좋지 않았습니다. 빌라 자체는 겉으로 보기에는 고급스러워 보이지만 열 발자국만 나와도 바로 깡시골을 마주할 수 있어요. 호텔 앞을 지나다닐 때마다 여러 마리의 소와 아이컨택을 할 수 있습니다. 비치와 가까이에 있는 빌라라고 하여, 기대하고 예약했지만 비치는 최소 20분 정도는 걸어가야 도착할 수 있는 거리에 있었어요. 저희 빌라에 있는 루프탑(2층)으로 올라가면 저 멀리에 바다가 보여요^^....... 그래서 따로 걸어가보진 않았습니다. (사누르비치 해변가 호텔을 생각한다면 경기도 오산이에요....) 하지만 여러 명의 직원분들 모두 친절하고, 요청에 대해 신속히 응답해주려고 노력하셨어요. 오토바이 대여(하루 150,000IDR), 초를 붙이기 위한 라이터 대여(free) 등등 최대한 저희의 편의를 봐주시려고 노력해주셔서 너무나도 감사했습니다. 하지만 저희 빌라는 개방형이었던 만큼 개미가 드글드글하고, 해가 지고 나면 도마뱀들이 기어나와 온 벽에 붙어있었어요. 모기 많은 것은 두 말 하면 잔소리고요... 저희는 첫날에 오토바이를 빌려서 큰 마트에 가서 에프킬라를 사왔어요....... 화장실은 생각 이상으로 넓었고 욕조 공간/변기 공간/샤워 공간 구분되어 있다는 점, 세면대도 넉넉히 넓었다는 점 모두 만족하지만 샤워실의 물이 90% 정도 안빠집니다... 샤워를 하면 샤워실 바닥에 물이 차올라 바깥으로 흘러갔어요.... 그래서 샤워를 하고 난 뒤에는 매일 같이 바닥의 물을 수건으로 닦아냈습니다............ 부엌 공간이 따로 마련되어있던 점, 웰컴과일이 준비되어있던 점, 부엌 앞쪽으로 푹신한 쇼파가 놓여있고, 프라이빗한 수영장을 사용할 수 있다는 점은 만족스러웠으나 수영장 옆에 놓여있는 빈백은 찢어지고, 때가 타고 난리가 아니었어요.......... 만족스러운 부분들도 꽤 있었으나 불만족스러운 부분들도 많아서 상쇄되어 재방문 의사는 없습니다..

The standard room has an AC according to trip.com, but in fact it only has a fan. But I wont blame the hotel, because I have the strong feeling trip used a.g.o.d.a as a third party and put the wrong information. The view from our room was very nice, and we had the banana pancake for breakfast that was excellent. It is a good accomodation for the price and I would recommend it. But next time I would choose a room with AC

Для пару дней хороший отель. В самом отеле можно арендовать байк за 70К, рядом есть дайвинг центр. Можно заказать трансфер до аэропорта, так как трудно найти такси в этом районе. Я заказывал до аэропорта за 700К. Номер просторный, есть кондиционер, горячая вода и всё. Номер не убирают. Питаться можно в кафе у самого отеля. Цены приемлемы. Кафе работает до 10 вечера. До океана от отеля примерно 40 метров.
