Tainan Hostellit

Hotel is super stylish, fitting in with the retro, yet trendy vibe of Tainan. From the lobby with LPs to the the 8th floor, all the amenities and thoughtful design was top notched. On the 8th floor, you have a small functional kitchen to eat your street food. It also has a free arcade which brought back childhood memories....Pac Man, Street Fighter. We also used the laundry facilities and the free 24 hr coffee machine. The vending machines were filled with local drinks. Whilst the room itself was on the small size, it was tastefully decorated with a large sitting area (despite its small size). What was super thoughtful were the booklets describing all the streetfood stalls in the area, the owners stories and a newspaper which profiled some of the owners. The sweets and the filter coffee and paper disposable and eco friendly plates, bowls and cutlery as well as kettle were the magic touches. It just goes to show that they thought about all the little things to make this place unique. We had a drainage issue in the shower but it was fixed immediately showing the responsiveness of the staff. Whilst perhaps a little inexperience, the staff were friendly, eager to help and extremely sincere. Post checking out, I wanted to point out that we were granted the use of the facilities on the 8th floor which allowed us to shower, have a place to rest and enjoy the hotel of the rest of our afternoon. Overall, it was a wonderful stay!

Stayed for two nights. Had some issue with our hotel room key. The staff were very proactive trying to resolve the issue, but it was only till the 2nd day of our stay that was resolved. There was no compensation for the incovenience caused as we only had 1 phisical key for 4 ppl. Having said that, the rest of the service was very nice, would be happy to go back again.

We had a great stay at Kindness Day Hotel! It’s small but sleek and modern, with a cozy vibe. The staff were super friendly and helpful, especially for us English speakers, which made everything so easy. The lounge with unlimited coffee and cookies was perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. You get a free drink ticket each night for beer or juice, which is a nice perk. Just be sure to use them the same day as they expire. We didn’t get a chance to use ours! The breakfast buffet was decent, not amazing, but still a nice option to have. With a bus stop and bike station right outside and plenty of restaurants and attractions nearby, it’s a super convenient and welcoming place to stay. Highly recommend!

Ensivaikutelmani hotellista oli varsin hyvä. Aulassa oli keittiö, jossa oli ilmainen kahvinkeitin, jääkaappi, uuni ja mikroaaltouuni – erittäin kätevää matkailijoille. Myös matkatavarasäilytys oli saatavilla. Moottoripyöräpysäköinti oli kätevästi noin neljän minuutin kävelymatkan päässä West Marketista, joten sinne oli helppo päästä. On kuitenkin syytä huomata, että autolla tuleville ei ole omaa pysäköintipaikkaa. Kirjauduttuani sisään huomasin huoneessa jatkuvaa, kovaa ”tumps-tumps-tumps”-askelten rysähdystä. Aluksi luulin sen kuuluvan yläkerran vierailta, ja ilmoitettuani hotellille vastaanotto sanoi pyytävänsä yläkerran vieraita olemaan hiljaisempia. Melu kuitenkin jatkui myöhään yöhön. Myöhemmin huomasin, että ongelmana oli huonosti suunniteltu portaikko; sen metallirakenne tuotti erittäin kovaa ”tumps-tumps”-ääntä aina, kun joku meni ylös tai alas. Pettymys oli se, että hotelli näytti olevan tietoinen tästä ongelmasta etukäteen, mutta ei ilmoittanut minulle siitä. Aluksi he syyttivät ongelmasta yläkerran vieraita, mikä tuntui epärehelliseltä. Kun tiedustelin pukuhuoneista, minulle kerrottiin, ettei vapaita paikkoja ollut, mutta oli maanantai-ilta, mikä herätti vakavia kysymyksiä. Kaiken kaikkiaan sijainti ja julkiset tilat ovat todellakin kätevät, mutta sitä ei suositella meluherkille henkilöille. Iäkkäät ihmiset kokivat melun aiheuttamia päänsärkyjä. Toivotaan, että hotelli suhtautuu rakenteelliseen meluongelmaan vakavasti ja tarjoaa rehellisemmän ja ennakoivamman lähestymistavan vieraiden huolenaiheisiin.

Chosen this hotel as it was recommended in xiaohongshu. Wasn't disappointed with the quality of the hotel. Only the fact that if would to walk from train station will need around 15 minutes. Other than that price is competitive

The hotel is old and it shows. There are many pools in the onsen area and guests are required to wear swimsuits and swimming caps. The rooms look like they have to renovated but all public area and pools are aged and cleanliness can be improved. The selection at breakfast is basic but it is fair for what we were charged. The receptionists at the front desk are very nice and helpful.

The room was spacious with places to put our luggages. The bed was oddly off centered but that created space for the luggage :) There were international electrical sockets so I didnt have to use my adaptor. The toilet has an odd configuration. Instead of a shower curtain, u get a ”toilet seat curtain” that u are supposed to pull to keep it dry when showering (water still gets splashed on it if it is not pulled well). The most inconvenient part of the room was the lack of a dry area to wear clothes after showering. Water pressure and temperature are great. Location wise, the hotel is very near the western market, shen nong street. We were also able to walk back from the Tainan TRA station when the buses had ended at night. There is a free shuttle bus to the THSR Tainan station which stops about 3mins walk from the hotel. We only discovered this on check out, so good to enquire with the hotel before checking in. The staff were generally friendly, when asked, they gave some suggestions about where to eat nearby. They look slightly unsure, possibly because it was ***** new year period. They were also helpful in booking taxi, massage and sending up additional clothes hangers. I did converse in mandarin though. We can get bedroom slippers and bottled water for free at the lobby, so that was very nice.

The front desk was served by young ladies, all were very courteous and helpful. They did make sure that you had a pleasant stay. As for hardware, the room was basic but clean. The room was bigger in size than what we expected. Toiletry supplies are limited.

Stayed in 2 different rooms. The 1st day room was awful on 9th floor. The bed was super hard like spring mattress with no give especially when sleeping sideways. The bathroom was old and dirty bathtub and the carpet was icky. Asked for a room change as I can't stand the room and I'm a pretty tolerant person. Luckily they offered 7th floor room, much better and probably newer with electronic card key, fresher cleaner bathroom and comfier bed. The 2 rooms has the same room size.
