I have stayed in Marriott properties in many countries since the early 1980s. This was my first stay at the Moxy brand of Marriott properties. When we arrived, the driveway was completely roped off and blocked by two huge construction vehicles and the door into the lobby was also roped off. No alternative was provided to allow us to drop off our heavy bags or even to enter the hotel from the car park. Having to register my car or risk a £100 fine just to drop off the luggage was not a customer-friendly message. I am aware this applies to other Marriott airport properties in Scotland to deter non-guests from parking. But I am sure with all the brainpower in the Marriott group, a customer-friendly solution can be found. The towel in my room had holes. Housekeeping staff opened my room door twice. Luckily I was only half naked. Really lousy breakfast. Dried scrambled eggs. No other egg type offered. Dried bacon. Orange juice tasted quite bad. The lobby doubled up as the place for breakfast. As a result, food droppings on the floor were quite unsightly. But I must say the staff were all wonderfully nice, polite and helpful

The location of this hotel is just on the border of the city centre, so it feels a lot quieter compared to right on the High Street. My room was a windowless Queen Room, with plenty of storage space for 2 people.  I quite like the design of the room, where 1 side of the room is the washing facilities. Unfortunately, the night when I stayed, there were many loud door slamming during the night.  I've got woken up many times. I had the breakfast downstairs at around 9:30am, and it closes at 10am.  The hot food was very dry, so probably been sitting around for some time.  If I stay here again, I would go elsewhere for breakfast.

Excellent location. You can walk to and from both the airport terminal and the rental car depot. I was able to check in an hour early so I could drop my bags first and then return my rental car. As a solo traveller, that made a huge difference. Very friendly helpful staff. The room was comfortable, very clean, and totally soundproofed from air traffic. I'd recommend the Hampton by Hilton as the best choice for an Edinburgh airport stay.

Hyvät pisteet: sijainti on täydellinen, kaupungin keskusta. Palvelu on yli keskiarvo. Meillä oli aamiaiset, ei buffet tyyli, mutta itse v hyvä. Al kartan tyyli, ei helppo ylittyä eat.walking etäisyys monia nähtävyyksiä ja lähtökohtia paikallisten retkien. Receptionissa oli apua ja ystävällistä. Tarkista sisään ja ulos. Vaikka perheeni 4 aikana Yhdistyneessä kuningaskunnassa, varaisi 2 huonetta, hiljattain, luultavasti hauskaa varaushenkilökunnan (päättäväisesti tuntui tahallinen) tai riittämättömyys tietokoneiden, perheemme olisi sijoitettu 2 huonetta eri kerroksissa, tällä kertaa se ei ollut Kiitos W hotellille, että tämä normaali pyyntö on totta. Ei hyvät kohdat: vaikka mikään ei ole vialla keinotekoisen ystävällisyyden kanssa, kun kaikki matkatavarat viivästyi British Airway, ja siellä oli kohtuullinen linja tarkastuksen. Vastaanottohenkilökunta voisi ehkä vähentää keskustelua vieraiden kanssa ja keskittyä tekemään työtä ja tarkistaa meidät nopeammin. Talon säilyttäminen oli alle keskiarvon, likaisia lasit ei puhdistettu tai korvattu kaksi päivää. Tämä ei kuitenkaan ollut harvinaista Yhdistyneessä kuningaskunnassa yleensä. Aamiainen tilaukset ravintolassa, tilaukset olivat kadonneet kaksi kertaa mutta itse asiassa yli keskiarvon Yhdistyneessä kuningaskunnassa. Muistuta: Hotelli sukkahousut olivat mukavia. Saatavilla pyynnöstä, he teeskentelevät sukkahousut olivat huoneissa, ne olisivat saatavilla, kun pyydetty Vapaa. - Kiitos.

the hotel was so clean and modern, with a really big room -- more than enough for 2 people. the location was so great because it was right beside a theatre and we cld even catch a last minute show there! the hotel was close to our needs ie shopping, sightseeing at the royal mile and city centre.

Absolutely amazing. We arrived very late due to heavy snow- they checked us in and organised an extra bed literally within 2 minutes of arriving. The service is efficient and rapid. The gentleman who looked after our room in house keeping was awesome, he helped us settle in and the little touches to make the kids feel special was duly noted. The manager down on the reception desk was excellent. Everything is managed very well, there is no waiting and the service is outstanding. The view at breakfast is amazing! Mountains in the distance covered in snow. Our stay was better than expected. Parking ✅ Swimming pool and sauna ✅ Food ✅ Service ✅ The hotel location is convenient and the restaurant space is open plan and cosy yet very busy. The hotel does need some updated but everything works well. The location is literally next to the zoo and the overflow car park 🅿️ is next to the hotel. The staff here are outstanding. High praise. 1. Location, Location, Location • It’s hard to beat this hotel for central Edinburgh. Right on North Bridge, you’re a stone’s throw from Waverley Station, the Royal Mile, shops, restaurants, and many of the city’s major sights.  • Great for walking everywhere; you don’t need transport for many of the main attractions.  2. Room Size & Basics • Many guests say the rooms are more spacious than you might expect in a city‑centre hotel.  • Clean, with decent bathrooms, functional furniture, and most have good views (though that depends on the side you’re on).  3. Quality of Bed & Sleep Amenities • Beds often get praise for being comfortable (though not universally). TVs, desks, kettles etc. are standard and work well.  4. Restaurant / Lounge / Public Areas • Decent lounge with a good drinks menu, good public areas, attractive décor in common spaces.  • The steakhouse (Marco Pierre White) is a draw for many visitors. 

Loved the breakfasts! Normal fry up one day, haggis the next! We had an early start to go to the Highlands, but breakfast was all ready at 630am. Were even allowed to take some fruit and pastries away for the trip. Staff helpful, ordered our taxi. They were not too clued up on getting the transport into the city, this would be helpful as we are easily 30 minutes away from the centre. I would avoid getting the tram in and out of the city as the distance to the Gateway or Gyle Centre stop is a little far and unless you know where the hotel actually is, then it gets frustrating going the wrong way to get there. TIP:- From Gateway go under the bridge (well lit) and turn left to go up some steps (not ideal with suitcases) to get onto Glasgow Road, head past B&M then you can see the hotel. From Gyle Centre head towards Glasgow Road (dont try to navigate around the shopping centre just head to Morrisons and the main road - the other way you are trapped with no access to cross the railway line!) - go up the stairs and head towards B&M. If you are lucky enough to read this, then I have saved you 40 minutes and 2 miles of frustration! Some buses are cheaper than others (X38 was 1 quid for adults, kids were free)(100 is the airport bus - expensive)(31 was similar to tram price 2.20gbp for adults, 1.10gbp for kids).

A Wonderful Stay – Highly Recommended! My friend and I recently had the pleasure of staying at this lovely property, and we had an excellent experience. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed with the attention to detail and the warmth of the staff. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring we both got a restful night’s sleep. What truly stood out, however, was the level of service. I was feeling a bit under the weather during our stay, and the staff went above and beyond by bringing breakfast directly to our room, which was a thoughtful and much-appreciated gesture. This level of care really goes a long way in making guests feel valued. For those who prefer to enjoy their breakfast with a bit of fresh air, the hotel also has a charming terrace where you can take your meal while soaking in the surroundings. It's the perfect way to start the day if you want to enjoy a bit of sunshine. The location is also a major plus. It’s just a short walk to the city center, making it easy to explore, and for those who prefer not to walk, a quick 5-minute bus ride will take you wherever you need to go. The lounge area at the hotel is another highlight. It’s spacious, cozy, and thoughtfully equipped with blankets to keep guests comfortable if the temperature drops. It provided the perfect spot to unwind after a day of sightseeing. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the area. The combination of comfort, thoughtful service, and a prime location makes it a top choice. We will definitely be staying here again when we return!
