"Another night staying at this hostel. We stayed in a six-person female dorm. Except that the drainage is quite bad at the shower room, and the bunk bed is noisy when i move, everything is good and clean. A good choice for budget traveller!"

"The hotel was lovely, the bed was comfortable, the reception staff was welcoming and amazing! I was thoroughly disappointed at the breakfast selection - the eggs were overcooked and floating in water, it was quite gross. The gentleman taking care of the tables was quite rude. We asked the reception whether we can look at the breakfast before we make a decision to add on, she said sure, we went there and this gentleman working the floor was quite rude saying for how many? I told him I am still deciding as my partner wanted to come in and have breakfast too. It was me and my mom staying in the room, but he was so pushy and rude, he asked for my room number, I gave it to him, he came back saying it's not paid and I said to him I know I am just deciding if I want to add it on -- we were standing away from the food and didn't have plates or anything, we were just texting my partner to get a decision from him. He was so rude and said ”see I told you, this is why I asked, come with me” and he had a very rude attitude. We paid for it at the bar and then went to sit down, but this gentleman was the only rude man in the hotel - quite frankly would not eat at that place again!  He messed the whole experience for us. "

"it was a great experience. The ambiance was very nice 24 seven there was a receptionist and also the cleanliness was good and food is also good. I would highly recommend someone who is visiting Edinburgh to stay there because it’s closer to the town. It’s very affordable and and one of the best places to be around very close to the Dean village as well."

"Stayed at St Christopher’s Hostel, Edinburgh for a night and it was a good budget choice. The location is excellent, right in the city centre and close to the Old Town and main attractions. Check-in was easy and the staff were friendly and helpful. The dorm was basic but comfortable enough for a short stay. It can get a bit noisy, so earplugs help. Bathrooms and common areas were generally clean considering how busy it is. Overall, it’s a social, well-located hostel—great for meeting people and exploring the city, but not ideal if you want total quiet. Perfect for a short stay in Edinburgh."

"The receptionist Imane, she provided very professional customer service to us. She even recommended where to see and go in Edinburgh. The housekeeper, the guy is also very helpful Location is good. You can just take bus to the city and save your time to find the parking."

"Absolutely amazing. We arrived very late due to heavy snow- they checked us in and organised an extra bed literally within 2 minutes of arriving. The service is efficient and rapid. The gentleman who looked after our room in house keeping was awesome, he helped us settle in and the little touches to make the kids feel special was duly noted. The manager down on the reception desk was excellent. Everything is managed very well, there is no waiting and the service is outstanding. The view at breakfast is amazing! Mountains in the distance covered in snow. Our stay was better than expected. Parking ✅ Swimming pool and sauna ✅ Food ✅ Service ✅ The hotel location is convenient and the restaurant space is open plan and cosy yet very busy. The hotel does need some updated but everything works well. The location is literally next to the zoo and the overflow car park 🅿️ is next to the hotel. The staff here are outstanding. High praise. Thank you."

"This is a rather disappointing stay. I hope we can get a proper compensation. 1. The bathroom does not have any basic toiletries, not even hand soap. We had to go down to reception to ask and was given hand lotion and told that it works as hand soap?!? 2. Breakfast is not ready at 7am. Breakfast is supposed to serve from 7 - 10am. On first morning, breakfast spread was not complete because chef came to work late. (Photo shows what was available to guests). We had to leave to catch our day tour bus so we barely ate anything. On the next day, no breakfast was served because there was issues with gas. 3. Room cleaning was not complete. Room cleaning only made the beds and refreshed the towels. The dustbins were not emptied and the toilet papers were not replenished."
