"My husband and I spent one night here as part of our honeymoon, and it was such a memorable and unique experience. We took the local bus up and only had to walk a few minutes before reaching the place. The hotel was beautiful, peaceful, clean, and quiet. We booked a private onsen and it was well worth every penny. We also added the dinner and breakfast package, and each of the meals were delicious. Such a special experience that I would highly recommend to anyone who has the opportunity. Also, make sure to try the local apples!"

"Se on lähellä Yudanakan asemaa. Jos menet noin 200 metrin päässä hotellista, Yudanakan puolella on bussiterminaali. Shiga Kogen -hiihtokeskus ja Snow Monkey ovat helposti saavutettavissa. Lähistöllä 100 metrin päässä on lähikauppa, mutta lähikauppoja ei ole montaa auki, joten ei ole paljon nähtävää. Hotellissa on kuitenkin runsaasti kuumia lähteitä ja pelihalli. Siellä on myös hierontakone, joten voit pitää hauskaa sisällä. Ruoka on buffettyyliä, mutta pidin niin paljon naudanlihanabesta illalliseksi. "Love this ryokan! The service was just amazing! We arrived the ryokan feeling cold and asked where we could get some heat pads and was told that since the ryokan provides free shuttle to train station, they could send us to convenient store. And before it, the staff came back with some mini heat pads for us to use for the meanwhile. There was also paid shuttle to snow monkey park (500 yen per pax one way) that you can arrange with them. We had a tatami room, it was spacious and the staff came to the room to do the check in and served tea and welcome snack to us. The ryokan guests are entitled to go to nine onsens around the area for free. The ryokan provides yukatas and all necessities for it. The meals were sumptuous and super yummy. Overall, a fantastic ryokan experience for us!"

"Our family made a special trip from Tokyo to Nagano, and besides exploring the surrounding attractions, watching the snow monkeys soaking in the hot springs of Nozawa, and visiting the Togakushi Shrine, the highlight of this trip was staying at Issa no Komichi Biyu no Yado. Initially, we had modest expectations, thinking of it as just another experience. However, upon arriving in the snowy Yudanaka Shibu Onsen, we were immediately impressed by the warm and professional hospitality. From the thoughtful reception to the exquisite dinner and the unique public onsen, every aspect exceeded our expectations and left us pleasantly surprised. This wasn’t just a hotel stay—it was an unforgettable journey into the heart of Japanese onsen culture. If you’re planning a trip to Nagano, this is definitely a place worth visiting to experience the perfect blend of hot springs and nature!"

"From the moment you enter Kokuya Ryokan, be prepared to leave the real world behind and fully immerse yourself in the experience. You swap your shoes for slippers at the door and don’t see them again until you leave. You will receive a warm welcome from polite and gentle-mannered staff, get taken up to your beautiful room, and once you’ve changed into your traditional yukata, it’s time to let the relaxation begin. The multi-course dinner will probably be one of the best meals you’ve had in your life, with many unusual textures and flavors to try. The futons are comfortable, and your room is kept toasty warm. There are even skincare products to keep you pampered and moisturized between soaks in the onsen. Honestly, you won’t even need to open your suitcase while you’re there. The staff will take you through all the logistics when you arrive, but there are some things that might be useful to know in advance. - The ryokan sends a shuttle to Yudanaka station at about 15:00 to collect new arrivals, so time your journey to take advantage of this benefit. - The ryokan also offers guests the opportunity to catch a shuttle to the Snow Monkey Park immediately after breakfast the next morning. - After you leave the ryokan, they will take your luggage down to the coffee shop opposite the station, so you don’t need to worry about those logistics. - Trains from Yudanaka back to Nagano leave at 12:30 and 15:30. - The ryokan itself has several private onsens that you can reserve for a 45-minute slot. Because the onsens are on the property, you can go in with your partner or travel companions regardless of gender. It’s a boutique hotel, so you don’t have to worry about not getting access to all the onsens you want. - The ryokan is on the main road of the Shibu Onsen town. The hotel will give you a key so you can wonder down the main road, visiting any of the public onsens you wish - however, with so many gorgeous and more private onsens in the hotel itself, you probably won’t have time or the desire for this. - Also, there is a coffee machine in the room! (I was worried about having to survive without coffee, and this turned out to be an unfounded concern). We had an incredible and totally indulgent time at Kokuya. Experiencing a traditional ryokan is a privilege that you should try at least once if you can. And adding the Snow Monkeys in give the trip a double purpose, making it that much more memorable. The only thing that would have made the trip better is if we had been allowed to linger longer over every course of our dinner."

"從長野市做長野電鐵1個多小時到湯田中站，出站下坡沿路往河邊走，幾分鐘就到，交通便利。酒店位於湯田中温泉鄉的中心位置，酒店規模不大，歷史悠久。13年對房間等設施進行了裝修，房間比較乾淨衞生。一樓有温泉大浴池，三樓還兩個有獨立的私湯，入住時在前台預約，免費使用半小時。早餐晚餐自助，菜品比較豐富，有長野牛肉火鍋，每人限三片，當地蔬菜蘑菇新鮮不限量。下午五點半前，一樓休息處提供關東煮小吃。酒店前有巴士站，可以去地獄谷野猿公園，看雪猴泡温泉，不過班次少，要提前查好時間。"

"Located just within 3min from Yudanaka station, Raki Onsenryokan is run by a Chinese family. As a quiet town on its own, no one was tending to the reception when I arrived, after ringing the bell, a lady came down to help with the check in - very straightforward. I believe the family stays in the same building as they said if we ever needed anything, we could just ring the bell at the reception. Obviously I had booked a room too big for a solo traveller as this was the only room left as ”non-smoking”. Toilet and sink are at two different parts of the room which was a little inconvenient. Ryokan offers free drive (15min) TO snow monkey park, but not return, so please cater at least 35min to walk from park exit to the bus stop. Ryokan also provided a hearty breakfast, overall for the price paid it was a decent stay!"

"Wow! An amazing little Ryoukan in a lovely town with fantastic owners. This ryoukan is a traditional old fashioned style with a lovely private onsen in pictures The room was large and your right on top of one of the 9 onsens. As a ryoukan in the town you will have access to the 9 healing onsens which you can use at your leisure and complete the denyouko towel for blessings The onsen is run by a lovely lady who is really friendly. Typical Amenities included plus free yukata and geta to borrow whilst your walking between hot springs plus free cold milk which is just heavenly after a hot soak. Honestly the cold milk really made my day!! 🥰 Air conditioning was very effective considering the size of the room and the breakfast was too much to finish and offered a taste of everything Lastly you are on top of the onsens as soon as you step out and monkey park is a 25 minute walk north but talk with the Owner, she has a link to the Monkey security cameras so can tell you ahead of time if theres any up there to see currently (i went during Estrus season so no monkeys for me) When it came to checkout the lady gave me a small bento of Onigiri and Pastries and even drove me down to the local station 10/10 would stay again"

Meillä oli yksi suurimmista huoneista, jonka uskon olevan huone 716. Oli istuimen ja myös unialue. Helppo sopii 8 henkilöä. Olimme vain 2. Päivässä he piti futonit ja toivat ne ulos yöllä. Pyyhkeet vaihtoivat joka yö. On auto, joka menee suoraan Mount Yokoteyaman hiihtokentälle. Receptionist ei näyttänyt tietävän siitä, mutta voit yrittää Google. "Some of the best customer service we've ever experienced. Ms. Abe was wonderful and her English was excellent. The outdoor onsen was perfect, truly beautiful. A big, well landscaped area, truly relaxing. All guests get to reserve 30 minutes of private use each evening, which was wonderful, but you can also go back during men's time, women's time, or mixed if you want to enjoy some more. The breakfast was also very good, and the room was sizeable. This was our favourite stay in Japan."
