"Love this ryokan! The service was just amazing! We arrived the ryokan feeling cold and asked where we could get some heat pads and was told that since the ryokan provides free shuttle to train station, they could send us to convenient store. And before it, the staff came back with some mini heat pads for us to use for the meanwhile. There was also paid shuttle to snow monkey park (500 yen per pax one way) that you can arrange with them. We had a tatami room, it was spacious and the staff came to the room to do the check in and served tea and welcome snack to us. The ryokan guests are entitled to go to nine onsens around the area for free. The ryokan provides yukatas and all necessities for it. The meals were sumptuous and super yummy. Overall, a fantastic ryokan experience for us!"

"From the moment you enter Kokuya Ryokan, be prepared to leave the real world behind and fully immerse yourself in the experience. You swap your shoes for slippers at the door and don’t see them again until you leave. You will receive a warm welcome from polite and gentle-mannered staff, get taken up to your beautiful room, and once you’ve changed into your traditional yukata, it’s time to let the relaxation begin. The multi-course dinner will probably be one of the best meals you’ve had in your life, with many unusual textures and flavors to try. The futons are comfortable, and your room is kept toasty warm. There are even skincare products to keep you pampered and moisturized between soaks in the onsen. Honestly, you won’t even need to open your suitcase while you’re there. The staff will take you through all the logistics when you arrive, but there are some things that might be useful to know in advance. - The ryokan sends a shuttle to Yudanaka station at about 15:00 to collect new arrivals, so time your journey to take advantage of this benefit. - The ryokan also offers guests the opportunity to catch a shuttle to the Snow Monkey Park immediately after breakfast the next morning. - After you leave the ryokan, they will take your luggage down to the coffee shop opposite the station, so you don’t need to worry about those logistics. - Trains from Yudanaka back to Nagano leave at 12:30 and 15:30. - The ryokan itself has several private onsens that you can reserve for a 45-minute slot. Because the onsens are on the property, you can go in with your partner or travel companions regardless of gender. It’s a boutique hotel, so you don’t have to worry about not getting access to all the onsens you want. - The ryokan is on the main road of the Shibu Onsen town. The hotel will give you a key so you can wonder down the main road, visiting any of the public onsens you wish - however, with so many gorgeous and more private onsens in the hotel itself, you probably won’t have time or the desire for this. - Also, there is a coffee machine in the room! (I was worried about having to survive without coffee, and this turned out to be an unfounded concern). We had an incredible and totally indulgent time at Kokuya. Experiencing a traditional ryokan is a privilege that you should try at least once if you can. And adding the Snow Monkeys in give the trip a double purpose, making it that much more memorable. The only thing that would have made the trip better is if we had been allowed to linger longer over every course of our dinner."

"Our family made a special trip from Tokyo to Nagano, and besides exploring the surrounding attractions, watching the snow monkeys soaking in the hot springs of Nozawa, and visiting the Togakushi Shrine, the highlight of this trip was staying at Issa no Komichi Biyu no Yado. Initially, we had modest expectations, thinking of it as just another experience. However, upon arriving in the snowy Yudanaka Shibu Onsen, we were immediately impressed by the warm and professional hospitality. From the thoughtful reception to the exquisite dinner and the unique public onsen, every aspect exceeded our expectations and left us pleasantly surprised. This wasn’t just a hotel stay—it was an unforgettable journey into the heart of Japanese onsen culture. If you’re planning a trip to Nagano, this is definitely a place worth visiting to experience the perfect blend of hot springs and nature!"

"Se on lähellä Yudanakan asemaa. Jos menet noin 200 metrin päässä hotellista, Yudanakan puolella on bussiterminaali. Shiga Kogen -hiihtokeskus ja Snow Monkey ovat helposti saavutettavissa. Lähistöllä 100 metrin päässä on lähikauppa, mutta lähikauppoja ei ole montaa auki, joten ei ole paljon nähtävää. Hotellissa on kuitenkin runsaasti kuumia lähteitä ja pelihalli. Siellä on myös hierontakone, joten voit pitää hauskaa sisällä. Ruoka on buffettyyliä, mutta pidin niin paljon naudanlihanabesta illalliseksi. En voi unohtaa, että illalliseksi saa rajattomasti viiniä, olutta ja sakea!!👍 Suurin osa ihmisistä on perhettä, ystäviä ja työtovereita, joten iäkkäitä ihmisiä on paljon. Nauti hiihtokeskuksen ja kuuman lähteen mukavuudesta yhdessä Jos haluat nauttia siitä, suosittelen sitä!!! Henkilökunta oli myös ystävällistä ja mukavaa 👍"

"I only stayed one night in this beautiful ryokan and in Yamanouchi but I could easily have stayed longer, as there seems to have trekking opportunities in the area. The ryokan itself is great on all levels: clean, quiet at night and has an authentic feel. The staff is very helpful and speaks fluent English. When you arrive, it will provide you with traditional Japanese clothing in which you'll wander by the streets, go to restaurants and most importantly, explore the 9 public and free onsen in the village. I slept in a 3 bed dormitory and hadn't slept so well for several days. A free shuttle service will bring you to the next bus station (perhaps train station as well)"

"My husband and I spent one night here as part of our honeymoon, and it was such a memorable and unique experience. We took the local bus up and only had to walk a few minutes before reaching the place. The hotel was beautiful, peaceful, clean, and quiet. We booked a private onsen and it was well worth every penny. We also added the dinner and breakfast package, and each of the meals were delicious. Such a special experience that I would highly recommend to anyone who has the opportunity. Also, make sure to try the local apples!"

"從長野市做長野電鐵1個多小時到湯田中站，出站下坡沿路往河邊走，幾分鐘就到，交通便利。酒店位於湯田中温泉鄉的中心位置，酒店規模不大，歷史悠久。13年對房間等設施進行了裝修，房間比較乾淨衞生。一樓有温泉大浴池，三樓還兩個有獨立的私湯，入住時在前台預約，免費使用半小時。早餐晚餐自助，菜品比較豐富，有長野牛肉火鍋，每人限三片，當地蔬菜蘑菇新鮮不限量。下午五點半前，一樓休息處提供關東煮小吃。酒店前有巴士站，可以去地獄谷野猿公園，看雪猴泡温泉，不過班次少，要提前查好時間。"

"유다나카역에 도착하여 핸드폰으로 전화를 걸으려고 했었으나 전화가 되지 않아 역직원 분의 도움으로 송영서비스를 요청 할 수 있었구요 시간이 얼마 걸리지 않아 직원분이 오셔서 빠르고 편하게 이동 할 수 있었어요. 도착했을때부터 문앞까지 나와서 친절하게 응대해주셨고 근처 온천 투어, 료칸 시설물 이용에 대해서 친절하게 잘 설명해주었어요. 저희는 4인 가족(성인:2명, 아이:2명)인데 숙소는 작지 않았어요 입실 당일 저녁식사와 다음날 아침식사가 제공이 되었구요 식사는 너무 맛있게 잘 먹었구 음식을 서빙하시는 직원분들도 너무 친절하셨어요. 저녁식사를 마치고 방에 돌아오면 포근한 이불이 셋팅되어 있어서 편안하게 쉴 수 있어요. 다음날 퇴실할때도 송영서비스를 통해 원숭이공원으로 이동이 가능했구요 전체적으로 직원분들이 다들 너무 친절하셔서 기분이 좋았어요 시설도 깨끗하고 주변에 볼거리도 많아서 다음에 꼭 다시 가고 싶은 곳이에요 다른 분들에게도 적극 추천합니다"

"Hotel feels new (unlike a lot of hotels in Shiga kogen) outdoor onsen is great but abit small. Food is also excellent. The rooms are also clean and warm! However it is not ski in ski out and the bus stop is quite a distance away. It is quite cumbersome to walk with luggages and ski gear. And hotel do not provide any shuttle."
