"Location: Excellent location. About 800m from Kyoto Station. You can walk through an indoor connected mall and station, making it safe and convenient even with luggage. Cleanliness: The bed is comfortable and the toilet is very clean. Service: Staff are a mix of Japanese and international, able to speak both English and Japanese. Facilities: Lifts are fast and responsive. Water dispenser available, please bring your own bottle. Convenience: Very well equipped. AEON Mall is 100m away and Lawson is 200m away. Overall: The hotel uses central air conditioning, which may not be ideal if you prefer a colder room. However, the hotel provided a Dyson portable fan, which made the room comfortable and allowed for good sleep. Well done Miyako Hotel. I will definitely return."

"This is my favourite hotel on our travels around Japan. The room size was a little small but it was fine for a few nights as a base to explore Kyoto. It's walking distance from some great sites like Nijo Castle, the Samurai Ninja museum and the bustling market. The transport links are great and easy to get to most places of interest. Staff were very helpful and even rushed to fetch towels when we came in from the rain. There is no restaurant on site so, breakfast is only a bento box but it was so tasty! And there's a fantastic little cafe/restaurant just down the street (to the right as you leave the hotel) which was lovely for dinner. My only suggestion is that it would be nice to have a larger selection of manga in English or other languages."

"I read a few bad reviews and almost missed out on this hotel! Honestly idk what the ppl who left nasty negative comments are talking about because this hotel is heaven!! There’s soothing piano jazz light Xmas music in the background (shows how much tot went into this hotel! Japanese staff are all so polite and understanding even with abit of language barrier(you can use translator app). Room is cozy! Washer for 300yen and dryer 100 yen! Sauna room and bathhouse with shampoo and hair dryer! And breakfast and dinner is provided? Idk what else I can ask for.!!"

"Kylpyhuoneen ammeen suunnittelusta johtuen 19-neliöisen kahden hengen huoneen todellinen käyttöpinta-ala on kaksi sänkyä sijoittamisen jälkeen jäljellä. Hotellin sänky oli erittäin pehmeä eikä kovin mukava. Lisäksi hotelli on vähän kaukana vilkkaasta Shijon liikealueesta. Jos työskentelet hotellin lähellä, se ei ole suositeltavaa muutama hinta on 230 per aikuinen, mikä ei ole halpaa."

"The hotel is located at Umekoji park, just 2min walk away from Umekoji station. Just one street away, there are museum, garden, aquarium, Michelin star Ramen shop and many other high local rating (in tabelog) restaurants. The room was compact but clean, practical and comfortable. The breakfast served a small japanese-western style buffet, but it was tasty. Public bath was spacious and the congestion information was accessible from your room, which was very useful. Overall, it was a pleasant hotel for exploring the modern part of Kyoto."

"Don't let the size of the room fool you. Yes, it's tiny by global standards but Hop Inn outdoes itself in the details... it is extremely clean with all the amenities you will need/want for a short or long stay, such as toiletries, free coffee and ice around the clock, breakfast, washer and dryer, and even a public bath. It's also a stone's throw from the subway which is a saving grace for a bicycle-friendly place like Kyoto."

"Excellent location just 3 minutes walking distance from Kyoto Station. You can get all toiletries amenities from the lobby, free flow of coffee, tea and soft drinks within a period of time. The room is normal Japanese size, enough for two people but cannot open both 20 inches suitcases at the same time. Cleanliness nothing more to say at this room rate. There has laundry area with few washing machine and dryer but the machine only accept electronic payment , they don’t accept cash and credit card which is reslly not user-friendly for tourists. When I seek the front desk assistance, they told me to go to laundry shop which is 8 mins walking distance. Not far away but we need to carry all the way back and forth. What’s the point of providing laundry service????"

"Stayed at the Mitsui Garden Hotel Kawaramachi Jokyoji from 20-24 Dec. This was my 2nd stay there in 2 consecutive months, despite there being hundreds of hotels in Kyoto.  Location:  the hotel is located in the city center with Nishiki Market and Teramachi indoor shopping street located very closeby. Kawaramachi is also a big commercial street lined with plethora of shops and malls.  Train stations within walking distance.  Hotel Facilities and Amenities:  this is a very beautiful hotel next to a temple (and small cemetery). The rooms are exemplary clean and quite spacious for Japan’s standard. Many facilities such as a public onsen, on-site restaurant, vending machine, ice machine, etc. No gym, which is not a big deal at all if you are in Kyoto for a short tourist visit.  You will be doing a lot of walking anyway if you choose to.   I only visited the on-site restaurant for dinner once. The food was okay, but nothing to write home about. Service staff was accommodating (I had to use a wheelchair at the time); however, service was lackluster otherwise.   Hotel staff service:  cannot praise the service by the hotel staff enough. This time around, I had injured my foot and couldn’t walk for 2 days. I was touched by the staff’s incredible kindness - they went out of their way to really help me out. Overall:  if you want city center location with easy access to modern shops and an array of restaurants within walking distance, big and super clean room, and great hospitality,  I’d highly recommend this hotel."

"We stayed here at the Kyoto Tower Hotel because of its prime location, which is next to Kyoto Station, making it convenient for exploring the city. The hotel itself is a landmark, with the iconic Kyoto Tower. Our standard double bedroom, however, was disappointingly small. The Japanese-style futon bed was a nice touch, but the lack of a wardrobe, desk, or drawers left us struggling to organise our belongings. The tiny round table was insufficient, and the compact bathroom, while very clean, felt cramped. On the positive side, the air freshener, Japanese pajamas, washlet toilet, and USB outlets by the bed were welcome details. The breakfast buffet on the third floor was a highlight, offering a commendable Japanese and Western spread in a comfortable, ambient restaurant. The hotel reception on the eighth floor was efficient, and as guests, we enjoyed a discount on the Kyoto Tower entrance fee. Overall, the location make it a wise choice, but the small rooms and lack of storage are major drawbacks."

"The hotel is in a great location, making it easy to access all the major attractions nearby. They provide different complimentary items and services at various times, which adds a nice touch to the stay. The staff were friendly and proactive, always ready to assist. One minor drawback is that there are only two washing machines available, so guests may need to wait during busy periods. On the positive side, the metro station is conveniently located right next to the hotel, making travel around the city very simple."
