Staying at this hotel in Zermatt was an unforgettable experience! The location is perfect—just 500 meters from the train station, making it incredibly convenient. The highlight of my stay was the warm hospitality from the owners, Thor and Michele. They personally served the buffet breakfast every morning, which was both delicious and thoughtfully prepared. On my first day, I unfortunately missed breakfast, but as I was heading out around 10:45 am, they surprised me by reserving some food for me to enjoy before leaving. It was such a thoughtful and touching gesture that truly made me feel cared for. The room itself was immaculate and had everything I needed. The balcony offered a stunning mountain view, which was a perfect way to start and end each day. Thor and Michele went above and beyond to make me feel like a VIP throughout my stay. They remembered my name, attended to every need, and even took the time to explain the local attractions and recommend food options based on my preferences. I feel incredibly lucky to have secured two nights at this gem of a hotel, especially since it’s almost always fully booked. This was one of the most personal and heartwarming stays I’ve ever had. If you’re visiting Zermatt, staying here is an absolute must. Thank you, Thor and Michele, for making my trip so memorable!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel! The excellent service rendered by the staff made our honeymoon much sweeter. Everyone was friendly, kind and always willing to help. Room was really nice and the extra sauna and open concept bathtub was a nice surprise! Breakfast spread was super delicious as well. Facilities like the wellness area include foot bath, infrared chairs, jacuzzi etc.

這家酒店簡直是我們的lucky酒店！我們在這裏結束了瑞士的悽風苦雨，終於看到了馬特洪峯！這家酒店自己本身也很棒，室內的佈置和設計，都很小巧思地用了馬特洪峯的元素，而且我們昨天晚上六七點才臨時預訂，前台小姐姐給我們升級了房型，房間好大，還帶一個大陽台，房間有免費的咖啡和茶，她們家的早餐也很棒，因為早上趕着去上山，都沒有拍照片，但早餐非常豐富，草莓、獼猴桃等各種新鮮水果，培根、烤腸等剛煎好的肉食，還有西蘭花、蘑菇等蔬菜，以及各種麪包，果汁牛奶，甚至是可以鮮榨橙汁，還可以去吧枱點一杯卡布奇諾，總之就是能吃的很滿足了！最最最棒的就是這家酒店還有接送服務，本來我們要拖着大箱子走十幾分鍾去火車站，小車車直接就送我們去啦，幾分鐘，超快就到了！我保證，下次來采爾馬特，絕對還住這家！

For a truly memorable stay in Zermatt, look no further than the Traditional Julen Hotel. We travelled throughout Switzerland, and the view from our Matterhorn room was hands down the best we experienced. Waking up to that iconic peak every morning was simply breathtaking. The service at the Julen is impeccable. The staff is incredibly accommodating and went above and beyond to meet every need we had, making us feel truly welcome. Speaking of needs, be sure to grab a bite at their downstairs restaurant. The food is excellent, though the space is a little on the cozy (some might say claustrophobic) side. Don't let that deter you, though - the culinary experience is well worth it. Overall, the Traditional Julen Hotel is a fantastic choice. Splurge on the Matterhorn room for an unforgettable view, and rest assured knowing you'll be taken care of by a truly exceptional team. Highly recommended!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay. Room was clean, spacious and very comfortable. Very near the zermatt train station, just opposite of Macdonald’s. Breakfast had a good selection. Housekeeping would check in on you and offer free chocolates. The only feedback I have is the room didn’t provide English instructions on how to dial the concierge so I had to walk down to request for items.

the location was good. u can see matterhorn clearly but unfortunately there is a big construction crane block some view. On the way to hotel from zermatt station if you follow the google map, it gonna lead u to hard way, very high upslope hill. it will be better if hotel provide u the easy path way to hotel.

Location – 10/10 Nestled high above Zermatt, the Riffelhaus 1853 is accessible via the Gornergrat railway, making the journey itself an adventure. Once you arrive, you’re greeted by panoramic mountain views in every direction, with the iconic Matterhorn standing proudly in front of you. The setting is perfect for ski-in/ski-out access in winter and stunning hiking trails in summer. Rooms – 9/10 The rooms are cozy, modern, and well-equipped while still maintaining a classic Swiss alpine charm. Many rooms come with Matterhorn views, and waking up to this scenery is an experience in itself. The beds are comfortable, and the rustic wooden decor gives a warm, welcoming feel. Some rooms have balconies, which I highly recommend booking for the full experience. Service – 9/10 The staff is friendly, professional, and attentive. Despite the hotel’s remote location, the service is top-notch, with staff going out of their way to accommodate special requests. From seamless check-in to helpful local recommendations, they make the stay even more special. Dining – 8.5/10 The on-site restaurant serves delicious Swiss cuisine, including traditional dishes like fondue and rösti. The breakfast is generous, featuring fresh bread, cheeses, meats, and eggs cooked to order. The only downside is that, due to the remote location, dining options are limited to the hotel restaurant, but the quality makes up for it. Wellness & Spa – 10/10 The outdoor hot tub with a view of the Matterhorn is an absolute highlight! There’s also a sauna and steam bath, perfect after a day of skiing or hiking. Soaking in the warm water while surrounded by snow-capped peaks is an experience worth every penny. Activities – 10/10 Winter: Perfect for skiing, as the hotel is directly on the slopes. The ski room is convenient, and the access to the Gornergrat ski area is unbeatable. Summer: Incredible hiking trails with direct access to the Gornergratbahn for easy excursions to higher altitudes.

The hotel was in 5 minutes walking from Zermatt train station and it offered free shuttle for check in and out as there was a steep path to the hotel entrance, not good to walk with luggages. I booked 2 bedrooms family suite but only with one bathroom which was the downside. However, the total space of 60 meter sq with a decent living room and a small balcony facing Matterhorn were a plus to the overall stay. There were some minor defects and the staff fixed efficiently. They had an indoor pool, a jacuzzi and a sauna room. I had to mention that the jacuzzi was of high standard and you must go after a day of hiking. So bring your swimming suit. However, please note that in there culture, no clothes are allowed to enter the sauna room and it is in mixed genders. The breakfast buffet was lack of choices. But I had to specially name Mr Fernando, he always welcome us with very good coffee and of course his warm greetings in the morning. Suggestion to the hotel: 1. Stated clearly the number of bathroom/ toilet in the booking details regarding my booking is a 2 bedrooms suite. 2. More choices for breakfast, my family stays 4 nights there. Everyday, the menu is same. 3. The pool was closed at 8pm, will be better if it closes at 9pm as it was rather rush for the guests to use after dinner. Overall, I recommend this hotel to family. I will come back again.

Kristiane checked us in, and out of the hotel. She's the most attentive person so far that I've met, among the hotels that I have stayed in. Not only that, she got our issues fixed within the day, with a good sense of humour. The hotel breakfast was above average, some selection of cheeses, ham, salami, yoghurt, and drinks dispensed from the machine. I chose this hotel as it was close to Zermatt Bahnhof, and I did not regret it. A relatively new hotel, with a faint smell of wood in the room. The heating in the room can be a wee bit stronger, it means the insulation is good while we tuned down the central heating throughout our stay when the external temp is subzero. It's a gorgeous hotel, I have a narrow window view of the Matterhorn. Not to mention that the hotel is right next to McDonald's and two coffee shops. Overall, it was a splendid experience for us staying at Derby. If you were guessing, this isn't a sponsored review. We were just very happy travellers.

I wish to express my dissatisfaction with my recent stay at Hotel Bistrols from Dec 16 to Dec 17. During my stay, I experienced an incident that left me quite unsettled. Around 20 mins after my check-in to the hotel, another group of tourists (think was a couple) was able to use hotel access card to access my room, we, both parties are shocked and super embarrassed. This situation raised significant concerns about the security protocols in place at the hotel. As a guest, I expect a certain level of safety. If the room was accidentally opened without my presence, I am not sure whether my belongings are going to disappear, this situation made me had just a light sleep throughout the whole stay. The lack of adequate security measures not only compromised my sense of safety but also made me question the overall management of the hotel. In an age where guest security is paramount, I believe that Hotel Bistrols should prioritize ensuring that all rooms are properly secured and that guests feel safe throughout their stay. A point to add is that the receptionist has poor attitude towards her service. The whole experience which I would not consider to give this hotel another try in future. I hope that the hotel will take my concerns seriously and address these issues for future guests.
