This hotel really redefines what high quality service at luxury hotels should be - personable, friendly, attentive, and professional. The staff are eager to be helpful, are extremely communicative and responsive via WeChat, and cater to your every needs. My impression before I arrived was already a positive one because they helped me arrange two packages to be sent in advance to the hotel. They even let me use their contact details as the contact number to make the order as I did not have a local phone number. Upon arrival, the packages were waiting for us and housekeeping took away the leftover packaging. They also offer a free laundry service and I cannot emphasise how soft and nice smelling our clothes were when we received our freshly laundered clothes. The bathroom amenities are the luxury brand Le Labo and the water provided is the mineral water brand Evian. Of course they also have Dyson hair dryers. The daily breakfasts are truly decadent with abalone on our first morning and Angus sirloin on our second morning. We can order seconds of any of the dishes we liked. Fruit juices are freshly made. The barista even made takeaway drinks for us to enjoy on our outings. Afternoon tea and evening soups are also provided and guests can choose what time they would like it to be served and where (for example, hotel room or hotel lounge). They even prepared cold milk for us to soothe us after we returned from dinner eating some local spicy Changsha chicken. Truly outstanding service! One of the things that sets this hotel apart from any other we have stayed at are the afternoon activities they offer to their guests. On our second day we enjoyed a Cloisonné enamel class in the hotel and we will certainly be displaying the fruits of our hard work in our home when we return home. All the materials were provided to us and one of the lovely staff provided instructions and was extremely patient with us despite the language barrier. Such unique experiences on offer each day really make the stay so enjoyable for guests. I can understand why this hotel was won so many accolades. The staff really have earnt this award. It is thanks to their dedication that this hotel has earnt such a prestigious reputation. It is genuinely worth every penny! I am not sure when we will return to Changsha but it is exciting to know that the hotel does have another branch in Chengdu which we will be keen to visit, perhaps next year. All I can say is that I will always have fond memories of this hotel and particularly its staff and this hotel has certainly set the bar high for outstanding service.

Loved my stay in this hotel. I've been to several hotels in China including international and local brands and I think this is my favourite stay! The hotel interior is beautiful, the rooms are big but the thing that made it really worth the stay is the warm hospitality from the front desk staff. The moment I booked the hotel, they sent a message for me to add them via WeChat and it was easy for me to reach out to them for any requests, unlike several other hotels I've been to, where it's hard to reach the hotel directly. They helped me collate and collect parcels from the nearby CaiNiao stop when I was in another city and couldn't collect it. I really appreciated that extra mile! When I reached the hotel, the staff walked out to the car in the cold to help us with our luggages and gave us hot tea to warm ourselves up. After check-in, staff also brought our luggages all the way into our room. Within minutes, they texted to ask if it was convenient to send our parcels to our room via robot too. As the hotel is a short walk away from the main road, the staff also assisted with the booking of the cab rides to ensure that the driver drives right to the hotel gate so that we don't have to walk out to the main road. Aside from all these, the bed is comfortable, bathrobes are plush and I love that they have disposable face in towels, makeup removers, anti-slip bathroom slippers, disposable bathtub cover, disposable toilet covers. It's so thoughtful of them to have all these provided. Breakfast packages was a bonus that we really enjoyed as well, all the food was yummy.

If you’re looking for an English review, here it is! Location: We stayed for 6 nights in the Jade Room, and the location couldn’t be better. The hotel is only a short 3-minute walk from Huangxing Pedestrian Street, tucked inside a small alley off the main road. While taxis can’t drop you right at the entrance, the walk is easy and luggage-friendly. The surroundings are quiet at night but still feel very safe. There’s also a nearby corner shop that holds Taobao parcels, which is super convenient, and the reception staff will guide you if needed. Service: The service was genuinely outstanding and truly made the stay feel like a home away from home. Communication was clear, warm, and responsive from the beginning. We confirmed our booking via WeChat and received prompt replies along with helpful directions and a clear map. We arrived past midnight, but the staff kept in touch and reassured us that someone would meet us on arrival. A friendly young gentleman greeted us with a big smile, brought us to our room, and followed up with the passcodes for Wi-Fi and door access (the lobby area locks after 10pm). Most evenings, they sent a message about homemade desserts available on a first-come-first-serve basis—such a thoughtful touch. They were also extremely helpful when I needed to order food through *******, letting me use the front desk number since I didn’t have a local phone. I was also able to receive Taobao parcels at the hotel, and the staff neatly gathered them for easy pick-up. Truly attentive and heartfelt service throughout. Cleanliness & Room: The room had basic amenities and toiletries, which were sufficient for a comfortable stay. However, we couldn’t find a safe or mini fridge— not a deal breaker, but something to note if you’re expecting those features. The cleaning team was polite and checked in daily to see if we needed housekeeping. Fresh towels and bottled water were consistently provided, which we appreciated. Still, the overall cleaning could have been more thorough. We noticed crumbs and hair on the floor, suggesting that sweeping or vacuuming wasn’t done completely, and there were some shoe marks left in the bathroom. Not major issues, but worth mentioning. A Wonderful Family Stay at Jato Hotel in Changsha! My family and I recently enjoyed a fantastic stay at the Jato Hotel in Changsha, and it proved to be an excellent base for our adventures in this vibrant city. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere, which is always a relief when travelling with children. Our family room was a highlight. It was thoughtfully laid out, providing ample space for all of us and our luggage without feeling cramped. The beds were comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep after long days of sightseeing – a crucial factor for keeping everyone happy! We particularly appreciated the cleanliness of the room and, indeed, the entire hotel. It’s clear the staff take great pride in maintaining high standards. The amenities at Jato Hotel catered well to our family's needs. While we didn't use every facility, knowing there was a restaurant on-site was convenient for those evenings when the kids were too tired to venture far for dinner. The laundry service also came in handy, a real bonus for any family on an extended trip. The Wi-Fi was reliable, keeping the teenagers content during downtime. What truly stood out was the service. The staff were consistently friendly, approachable, and eager to assist with any queries we had, from directions to local attractions to recommendations for family-friendly eateries. Their helpfulness made our stay significantly smoother and more enjoyable. The hotel's location was also very convenient, allowing us easy access to explore Changsha's key sights. While specific distances to attractions might vary depending on the particular Jato Hotel branch, we found our location to be a good starting point for our excursions. Overall, our experience at Jato Hotel was overwhelmingly positive. It offered a comfortable, clean, and family-friendly environment with excellent service. We would happily recommend it to other families looking for a welcoming and convenient place to stay in Changsha and would certainly consider staying here again on a future visit.

I ordered food late at night and there was no robot to deliver it to the room, so I called the front desk if they could bring it to the room. They refused and told me to get it myself. After going to the lobby I see the receptionist talking to the assistant, both of them are clearly not busy. Sure, I can get the food myself but when I'm paying the price for an Intercontinental hotel I would expect top tier service. And I've had hotel assitants bring the food to my room in chinese hotels that costs less than half the price of this one. Besides that, the hotel looked nice, and the room was good. The location is not really great if you plan to walk anywhere, but with a taxi it's acceptable. The view is pretty good if your room is facing south. Facing north (even with river view) it's not that spectacular.

Very happy with this hotel. We stayed 5N, and totally enjoyed our stay. We had intended to stay only one night, but eventually extended our stay to 5 nights. I highly recommend this hotel. Location - Location was superb. Tai Ping Old Street was at door step. Walking distance to Wu Yi shopping area. Very close to main attractions too. Plenty of food around. There were also pharmacy, Lawson, Starbucks, McDonald's, BK, cinemas and skating rink nearby. You might want to download Gaode App as Google Map can't be used in China. Room - Hotel room was beautifully furnished. Soft lightings, nice bathtub, comfortable bed, luxurious sheets. Room came with fridge, coffee machine and designer armchair. 2 coffee capsules provided daily. Beautiful cup and saucer, even the water glasses were aesthetically pleasing. Bathroom amenities were of good quality. There is also AI personal assistant. Service Service was excellent. Staff were very warm and obliging. They helped us booked our tickets to Hunan Museum as we didn't know how to navigate on Wechat. There was a robot that sent everything we needed to our room promptly, including our food orders. Downsides Lack of security, no controlled access to rooms. No full length mirror in the room. Water temperature inconsistent, making it uncomfortable to shower in winter. Overall I would gladly return. I would also recommend it to my family and friends. Things to note Didi wasn't able to drop us at hotel doorstep as it was located inside Tai Ping Old Street. Hotel was about a 10m walk from the North Gate entrance, it took us awhile to find it as we arrived at midnight. We had to drag our luggage on the cobblestone pavement but it wasn't that bad. Located just an 8-minute walk from IFS, it offers both convenience and peace. A huge thank you to Dong Cheng and Peng Peng for their warm welcome and outstanding hospitality. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely cared for. The hotel was exceptionally clean—far beyond my expectations. Room service and complimentary laundry service were provided daily without fail, which made our stay all the more comfortable. We also chose to upgrade with the breakfast buffet, and it was absolutely worth it. The portions were generous and the food was delicious every single morning. A special highlight of our stay was the extraordinary support we received on our last day. My younger brother misplaced his necklace, and when we reported it, the hotel manager immediately engaged a team to help. Their swift and thorough action led to the necklace being found and returned to us—an act of kindness and professionalism we deeply appreciated. Special thanks to the beautiful and kind-hearted manager—you truly have a golden heart. We are more than happy with our experience and will definitely return for our next visit to Changsha. Tingjian Suyu Hotel（Chang Sha） This is truly my favorite hotel throughout this Changsha trip, and a place that made me feel completely at ease ❤️ First, the environment. The hotel is exceptionally clean, peaceful, and comfortable. Despite being located in the city center, the sleep quality was excellent. I especially loved their custom-made pillows, which significantly improved our rest and made every night deeply relaxing. Second, the thoughtful details. From the unforgettable Changsha rice noodles at breakfast to the complimentary afternoon tea during the cold winter, every detail felt warm and well-considered ☕️. Third—and the main reason I would return—is the service. Every staff member was genuinely kind, attentive, and responsive. No matter what we needed, they were always there, making us feel safe and cared for—almost like having a personal butler at home. Lastly, a very special highlight: Since we were traveling in winter with lots of luggage, we were pleasantly surprised to learn that the hotel offers free luggage delivery to the airport ✈️. A Serene Mountain Retreat: A Perfect Escape from the Hustle This mountain hotel is an absolute gem for anyone craving peace and connection with nature—easily one of my favorite getaways in recent memory. From the moment I arrived, the architectural charm stood out: sleek, modern white buildings nestled against a lush forest backdrop, with rustic stone retaining walls adding a warm, earthy contrast. The interiors are just as thoughtfully designed—cozy lounge areas feature a crackling wood-burning stove that invites you to kick back and unwind (I spent hours with my feet up by the fire, sipping tea, and forgetting the outside world). The outdoor spaces are equally delightful: sun-dappled patios with soft flooring, where my spaniel wandered by (a sweet, unexpected touch!), and gravel paths that lead to sweeping views of the wooded hills. Every corner feels intentional, balancing minimalist design with the raw beauty of the surrounding nature. What truly makes this place special is the tranquility. It’s quiet enough to hear the rustle of leaves and birdsong, yet the amenities are comfortable and well-appointed—no roughing it here. The staff (though I didn’t interact much, thanks to the seclusion) seemed attentive, and the little touches (like the firewood stacked neatly by the stove) made the stay feel personal and cared for. If I had to nitpick, it’s that the remote location means you’ll need a car to explore nearby spots—but that’s part of the appeal for a true escape. Rating: 5/5 This hotel isn’t just a place to sleep; it’s a chance to slow down, breathe, and soak in nature’s beauty. I’ll definitely be coming back.
