I booked an “executive” room at a rate above the already high standard price, largely because the listing photos showed a spacious bathroom with a bathtub. In reality, the only “executive” feature seemed to be that it was located on the 6th floor. Access to the executive lounge was not included and required an extra fee — and from what I saw when peeking inside, it certainly didn’t seem worth paying for. The biggest disappointment was the bathroom. It was shockingly small, with a shower stall easily under 1m². As a petite Asian woman, I still found it uncomfortably cramped and awkward, especially when washing my hair. The space looked nothing like the listing photos, which feels misleading. I regret not raising this with reception immediately, but the more I used the room, the more dissatisfied I became. Misrepresentation in promotional images is simply unacceptable, and I will be attaching comparison photos to show the difference. The room itself also fell short in comfort. The pillows were so thin that they flattened to bed level the moment you lay on them — we had to fold them in half just for the extra height for support. Amenities were extremely basic and in no way justified the high room rate. This was my first time staying at a Wyndham property, and I sincerely hope this is not reflective of the brand’s overall standards. The only plus point of this hotel like other properties at the area is that it’s near the main train station and transportation. Service at check in was also very helpful with the nice lady taking time giving directions with a map.

The hotel was more conveniently located for public transportation (trolleybus) to Salzburg city center than I had expected. Many lines pass right in front of the hotel, and there is a large shopping mall and supermarket next door, where we could easily purchase groceries during our stay. Despite the hotel being very busy and crowded with guests, the staff at the reception desk and the breakfast restaurant were all friendly and attentive. The view from the hotel lobby was also very nice. One neutral point is that the hotel's entrance sign on Sterneckstrasse could be improved. We spent about two minutes walking around the building trying to find the entrance. Perhaps you could consider adding more signage or a clearer indication of where the entrance is? Unfortunately, I encountered some issues that overshadowed these positive aspects. Having had a very satisfying experience at a BW hotel in Bologna, Italy (which I hadn’t expected much from since it was just a one-night stay during a road trip, but everything from the breakfast to the bed and interior was fantastic), I had high expectations for this BW Plus hotel as well. Since I visited during a busy tourist season, I didn’t expect an early check-in and everything seemed fine until I entered the room in the evening. First, I found what appeared to be traces of a previous guest in the toilet—yes, a small spot of something brown. It was tiny, less than a quarter the size of a fingernail, but it was still noticeable. I have poor eyesight and often get scolded by my wife for not noticing things like this. I also noticed similar dried brown stains on the bathroom floor, which I assumed were the same thing. The showerhead had limescale and mold, which didn’t leave a good impression. These are issues that could be easily resolved with a bit of bleach, and I thought it would be nice if the housekeeping staff paid more attention to such details. The most disappointing thing was the pillow filling, which I’ll simply attach a photo of here. Many guests, especially those from Asia, praised the breakfast highly in Google reviews, so I had some expectations. However, having stayed at many hotels in Europe, I didn’t find it particularly special. In terms of taste, I would rate it around 70-80 out of 100. (To be specific, I would compare it to breakfast at other four-star hotels like the Grand Hotel International Prague or the Holiday Inn City in Düsseldorf) In conclusion, despite these issues, I still want to give the hotel a 4-star rating. This is because I was able to book a room just two weeks before my trip for a rate of around 150 euros per night, which is quite reasonable during peak season in this area. I am confident that with a little more attention to cleanliness and room hygiene, this hotel could quickly improve its customer satisfaction. Despite the concerns about hygiene, I was overall satisfied with my stay at this hotel. This review is written not as a criticism but as a form of encouragement. Tämä hotelli sijaitsee 50 metriä pohjoiseen Salzburgin päärautatieasemalta, helpon matkan päässä rautatieasemalta. Vaikka se on rautatieaseman vieressä, se ei ole ollenkaan meluisa ja äänieristys on erittäin hyvä. On erittäin kätevää matkustaa Wieniin, Saksaan ja Sveitsiin. Tämä hotelli on tyyliltään moderni, ja huoneet ovat tilavia, siistejä ja viihtyisiä (kaikki perusmukavuudet paitsi jääkaappi). Vastaanoton palvelu on lämmintä ja huomaavaista. Hotellin alakerrassa on suuri supermarket ja monia ravintoloita. Huonehinta on lähes 800 RMB, jota pidetään kustannustehokkaana Euroopassa, joten se on hyvä valinta Itävallassa matkustettaessa.

-Super schönes Hote. -Grandioser Wellnessbereich -Gute Erreichbarkeit, auch mit Bus und Bahn, dazu auch kostenfreie Parkmöglichkeiten -sehr liebes Personal. Besonderen Dank an den griechischen Barkeeper in der Bar! -tolles Ambiente mit dem Glaskamin! -Frühstück Recht teuer, aber edel.

We chose Hotel Stein because of the location and beautiful view from the hotel room. It has a nice rooftop bar and restaurant Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. We wanted to visit Designer Premium Outlet and they guided us on map, directions to board the bus. One of the front desk lady even offered to give us a slip of paper to exchange for discount vouchers at the premium outlet. Rooms were new, clean and updated. Nice lounge area at the ground floor lobby.
