On our wonderful 8-days-trip to Czech Republic we (couple, 50 years old, two children at age of 14/16) spent the last four days in Prague. When checking in at the hotel around 9 p.m. we noticed that we have got the wrong room (1 king-size bed and 1 sofa bed instead of (explicitly booked and already paid) room with 1 king-size bed and a separate room with 2 single beds), so we informed the reception desk. The stuff was very friendly and although not being able to offer us the correct room for the first night already, we were able to switch room early next morning and got free breakfast as compensation. The breakfast was very good and rich (bread, bread rolls, toast, scrambled and boiled eggs, classical cold cuts, grilled vegetables and sausages, fruit, yogurt, cake, coffee, hot chocolate, juices, cereals, etc.). Therefore we decided to choose the breakfast option also on our final day before check-out. BTW, the area, where breakfast was served (until 11 a.m.), belongs to ”Fat Cat Burgers & Craft Beer”, which made a nice impression and was well-visited past noon. The rooms and bath were clean and although the rooms and the inventory might need a little refreshment on the one hand, the old windows and carpet fit to the historic center, where the hotel is located on the other hand. The location itself was ideal for starting tours to the old town by foot and enjoying night life. Next tram stop was appr. a 7-minutes-walk away, next metro stop appr. 10 minutes away. The room with the king size bed contained a LED-TV and was orientated to pedestrian street, but although night life just happens a few feet away, the old windows (two windows in a row) filter much of the noise. The other room with the two single beds was very calm and located between the formerly mentioned room and the hallway. Its windows were orientated to hallway and could not be regularly opened, which made airing this room out a little bit difficult. Each apartment contains its own WLAN-router, which had to plug in on our own as noticed on arrival, but then we had perfect signal and fast internet access. A tip for those arriving by car: You cannot reach the hotel by car, because it is located in a pedestrian zone consisting of many pubs and bistros with outdoor seating. Finding a parking slot nearby is not easy, due to most part of the surrounding streets are reserved for residential parking only and you either have to pay the parking slot by app (virtual parking ticket machine only) or choose a slot in more distant streets where you can also buy a ticket at a physical parking ticket machine. Therefore I dropped my wife and children as near as possible to the hotel (2-minutes-walk) and parked our car in one of the suburban P+R-areas - I chose ”P+R Skalka II” with contains a camera system and costs 50 CZK for the first 24hours and then 10 CZK per hour, which is (in June 2025), which is very cheap compared to parking your car in one of the central car parks). Conclusion: A very nice place with friendly stuff and a good breakfast. If you do not mind walking a little bit with your luggage and if you like enjoying city/night life in Prague, this hotel is a very good option. I would always recommend this hotel for those who are a good walkers.

Making a reservation online and deciding based only on photos and reviews is really not an easy task. Still, looking at the photos, I thought it would be reasonable for that price range and made the reservation.However, from check-in, the staff treated us so kindly and friendly, and the accommodation was very clean. The balcony was especially spacious, which was great. The dishes and kitchen utensils were all new, and the bathroom amenities, bed covers, pillows, towels, etc. were so clean.If you're considering booking this accommodation, you definitely won't regret it. During our time in Prague, our satisfaction with the accommodation made up a large part of our good memories.

Hotel is a little dated, but rooms have everything you need. We bought the breakfast and it had everything we expected. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

The location is great — just a few minutes’ walk from the station and close to the National Museum. Check-in and check-out were easy, and the staff were very nice. The lady at reception even let me check in early since the bed was available, and they also have a luggage room you can use for free after check-out. The room was more like a studio, with a kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom. I stayed in a 5-bed female-only room, which was quite spacious with plenty of room for everyone. There’s also a big long mirror, which I really liked, and the heating was on, making the room feel very warm and cozy. The only thing I didn’t like was that the toilet and shower were in the same room. It would be better if they were separate so you don’t have to wait when someone just wants to use the toilet quickly. Also, the tiles under the toilet were cracked and made noise when I sat down — it felt like they could break at any moment. The bathroom also had a slight urine smell, and since the shower didn’t have a door or curtain, the floor got wet after someone showered. There were no bed curtains either, so there’s not much privacy, and when someone came back late and turned on the light, it disturbed my sleep. Overall, it’s not a bad hostel, but hopefully these things can be improved.

Staying at Melantrich Hotel was truly one of the best experiences I’ve had when it comes to accommodation. From the moment I arrived, I could tell that their description online was honest and accurate — something that’s unfortunately rare these days. The hotel is genuinely located in the heart of Prague, and I was pleasantly surprised by how incredibly close it was to all the main attractions. Whether it was the Old Town Square, Charles Bridge, or Wenceslas Square, everything was just a short walk away, which made exploring the city so convenient and enjoyable. Considering the prime location, the price was very reasonable, and I felt that the value for money was exceptional. The service provided easily exceeded my expectations. The staff were a true highlight of my stay. They were incredibly kind, welcoming, and always smiling, which created a warm and pleasant atmosphere from the start. They even offered to keep my luggage safely before check-in, which made things so much easier and stress-free for me. Breakfast was absolutely lovely — exactly what I needed to start the day. It wasn’t an overwhelming buffet with unnecessary waste, but rather a well-curated selection that catered to both those who enjoy a light meal and those who prefer something heavier. The variety of drinks available was a nice touch as well. I can confidently say that I highly recommend Melantrich Hotel to anyone visiting Prague. It’s the perfect combination of excellent location, kind service, fair pricing, and cozy comfort. I would definitely stay here again!

My stay at the hotel started with very unwelcoming lady at the reception. There was city tax to pay and I had only cash because my Union Pay card didn’t work there. She told me to look for change because the banknote was 2000 CZK, I said that it was what I got at the ATM, then she told me to go outside to mini market I get change. I refused to do that because it was rainy outside and I was tired after 8 hours on the road, and then she started ignoring me without trying to solve the problem. My mom offered her to pay later when we get the change at the city and only after she gave me the room key. Terrible service!! The other thing is that there’s no toiletries such as toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo (only all-in-one soap), slippers all of that you have to have your own. There’s no water provided and no kettle but you can borrow a kettle at the reception. There’s free coffee and tea ant the reception. There’s no enough sockets, you have to choose what you want to use a fridge, a lamp, a kettle or a phone charger, it makes your stay very inconvenient. Also want to say that I started at the corner room ant it was so dark. Breakfast is okay and can be changed for 10€ or 250CZK at the reception. Location is wonderful though.

1人部屋でこの価格はかなり安いと思います！観光の中心部から少し離れていますが、景色を見ながら歩けばすぐだし、私は列車旅だったので、駅が近くて嬉しかったです。大きなマーケットやお店も近く本当に快適でした。レセプションが別の棟ですが、そこのスタッフもとても親切で、つぎはそちらの棟に泊まってみたいと思いました。

Tämä on uusin ja paras hostelli, jossa olen koskaan asunut! Se on todella uusi rakennus, ja olin erittäin onnekas, kun minulla ei ollut kämppäkavereita, kun muutin sisään. Se vastasi huoneen hinnan ansaitsemista. Se oli hyvin kuin normaali hotelli eikä retkeilymaja 😂🥲
