The best hotel in Pingyao! Big, beautiful and clean room. Big bathroom with a great shower and a smart toilet! Exactly as in the photos. The hotel staff was amazing, friendly and caring, they made me feel at home will all their hospitality. They picked me up at the railway station when I arrived in the city and where there ready to help with anything I could need.

Excellent stay, perfect location in the middle of the anscient city. The owner is very helpful and flexible. He helped us to arrange oir visit to meishan mountain and helped with anything we needed. The room was clean, modern, and hot water was abundant with good pressure. I would come back anytime.

This is a brand new hotel. Everything works well in the room, and the smart AI assistant is both amusing and practical in controlling room functions. The room furnishings are of good quality. The hotel is an amazing location, as it is just a short walk to the ancient city as well as the You Qian Ping Yao show, which is highly recommended. The hotel staff will book the tickets for you at a slight discount and it is not part of the hotel package, whichl makes it appear to be free. There are many eateries next to the hotel, and there is even a night food street just 100m away, but it was only open during the weekends during my stay in winter. There is also a big supermarket about 300m away, and many bakeries and bubble tea joints. There are plenty of food options.. Most importantly, the owner will fetch you to and fro from the train station. The hotel staff are also very warm and friendly, and will make you feel most welcome. The hotel owner also provided a humidifier, which really provided me much relief from the low humidity Overall, this hotel is highly recommended.

Very good location. Within the old town and close to many attractions and to the lower west gate where taxis can drop passengers. Very good services from staff. The hotel was converted from an old mansion which is a tourist attraction in itself. Do note that there are steps between the entrance and most rooms. Also, our room was over two floors. While these steps and stairs do not bother us it is something to note.

We had the best stay at Elswhwere Hotel West Gate. The building is restored it the nicest way really gives you the feeling of timetravel. The people working in the hotel, were carrying and welcoming. They explained us how to navigate the city, helped us buy tickets for the city sights, recommend restaurants and we even got a room upgrade and lovely gifts to take home and remember our time in Pingyao. The bed was so comfortable and we had the best sleep. Can recommend this hotel full heartedly. Would definitely come back! Thank you Helen and Fenny for making our stay so memorable.

It's safe to say this was the best hotel in China so far (and I've been to many cities). They offer a free pickup service to and from the city gate, from where you can easily reach the train station using a taxi (around 20 RMB). The hotel is located in the center of the ancient city, which really boosts the great vibe it gives. The hotel buildings are very old but in fantastic shape (like built yesterday). It really feels amazing just walking to your room through the country yard. The whole staff was fluent in English and extremely welcoming and generous. The room itself was very spacious and tremendously clean. It had all amenities needed like a heating and cooling AC, exclusive wifi router. The bath had extra shoes and even a hairdryer. We got fresh toothbrushes and toothpaste. The bath tub is also amazing and the rain shower has great temperature (which is important to me, as I don't like fiddling with the water mixer). If you plan to stay in Pingyao (ancient city) I can wholeheartedly recommend this place and will definitely book it again for my next trip to pingyao.

自駕到古城，老闆娘給安排了古城牆下的停車場，20元一晚，客棧離西門停車場非常近，非常方便。客棧在古城步行街邊上，古典有特色，春節來院子裏大紅燈籠高高掛，十分喜慶，客棧十分適合旅拍，在客棧就能完成，期待旅拍的照片。老闆娘非常熱情❤️

習慣性好評，酒店旅拍太吵了，內部環境一言難盡，為了賺錢，都理解，畢竟平遙酒店競爭很激烈。

Great location in the heart of Pingyao, yet the hotel was peaceful and quiet thanks to the side street. The hotel itself is beautiful, with many courtyards decorated with lanterns. Our room wasn't ready, but we were given another, much larger and more luxurious. Highly recommended.
