"Nice rooms facing the sea and lighthouse, there was a staircase that also led to a private beach. Unfortunately, the water supply had issues, but the hotel staff promptly helped to arrange us to be able to shower elsewhere. While slightly inconvenient, it made for memorable experience buggy-ing down a main road."

"My ocean view room was good sized and very clean. The frosted glass between the shower and the bedroom was a little weird, because you could make out someone else's body shape behind it. Breakfast buffet had a lot of variety, although the quality of cooked food was just okay. Clientele is almost entirely Chinese, and this is reflected in the 2 main restaurants being Chinese cuisine, and hotel notices being in Chinese without English. We tried both restaurants - Features is way more accomplished than Five Senses, and their service was also better. The two identical gyms are spacious and the equipment felt new. Staff tries to please, although the training and quality is not at international 5-star level. I wish the butler and front desk were more knowledgeable about activities and restaurants in the vicinity. Shimei beach in the Hainan winter is perfect for lounging around in, and for surfing. Signs everywhere warning about undercurrents, and consequently no one swims in the sea."

"Location: Lovely location right by the ocean but a bit far from any fun spots. It takes about 15-20 minutes to get to the Wanning 日月 beach where there's a lot more fun activities. Services: Great service. The front desk manager TT was lovely and could speak great English thus making communication go smoothly. Amenities: Good but could be better. I think some of the rooms were not used for a long time. The first room I got smelled a bit musty. Also, don't expect new facilities this place looks like it's been around for a long time and it shows. Still, it's charming in all it's rustic glory. I would say the only downside to my stay is that there was no shuttle to the train station. Which is kind of a letdown given that this is a high-end resort. ***If you're a person of colour, I recommend maybe try the two hotels not far from this place. Le Meridien and The Westin I think. I didn't spot any other foreigner during my two days at this hotel until I went to 日月 for a walk and ran into a few of them。It turns out most foreigners stay at the Westin or Le Meridien thus maybe it won't feel too isolating opting for these two hotels rather than this one. All in all, it's a nice hotel to stay if you're on a budget.👍🥂"

"English: If you’re traveling with a baby or young child, I highly recommend booking a family room. The room is spacious, comfortable, and very family-friendly. We originally booked a room with one bed, but the owner kindly upgraded us for free to a family room, which was a wonderful surprise. The location is excellent. While it’s not within walking distance to the beach, the ocean view is visible at a glance, and the beach itself is very close. Transportation is extremely convenient — the homestay provides a small shuttle, and all you need to do is send a message in the WeChat group. The staff are always quick to respond and ready to take you wherever you want to go. Since we were traveling with a child, we appreciated that the homestay is located slightly away from the bar street. It was the perfect balance — peaceful and quiet at night, without any noise disturbance. The nighttime atmosphere is especially charming — calm, romantic, and truly relaxing. Also, don’t forget to be kind and take care of XiangShu! The food at the Horizon Beach Bar was outstanding, and the staff were attentive, always anticipating my needs. The cuisine at the Western restaurant was also excellent.
