We enjoyed our stay here, so when we returned from Shangri-la to Lijiang, we made a repeat booking at this place. The cleanliness of the place and the friendliness of the staff were the main reasons for our return. Location: This place is situated near the border of the Lijiang Ancient City. It is close to the main road (2 min walk) which makes it easy to meet your driver for airport transfer or any tour you join. It is also extremely convenient to get to the main attractions such as Mu Residence (5 min) and Zhongyi Night Market (6-8 min). You will be away from the hustle and bustle at night, and get some peace and quiet. Room: We were lucky that we got a room on the ground floor, as we had very heavy luggage. It would be very difficult to pull them up the stairs if we were on the upper floor. Every room has a different name, and shows that the owners put some thought into giving each of their guests a unique experience. The room we got was of moderate size, with a small sofa area for you to enjoy tea and snacks. There was also a kettle and four cups, and a 5-litre water dispenser that dispensed hot and cold water - I appreciated this, which was more environmentally friendly and generous than other accommodation which gave us 2 bottles of water (500ml each) each every day. The room was also equipped with heating, for the room and the floor, and they were controlled by the front desk. There was also a humidifier. The room's interior decoration was warm and cozy. Outdoor: We also enjoyed sitting outdoors, idling, gazing at the fish, watching the flowers bloom, while enjoying many cups of tea. Toilet: It was of decent size, with a shower cubicle that dispensed hot water pretty quickly. They provided us with everything so there's nothing you need to bring: shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush, toothpaste, slippers, slippers for shower, towels for body and hair, one-time face towels, hair dryer, body lotion, soap, detergent. Service: The staff was hospitable, friendly, and the service was impeccable. We enjoyed chatting with them over many cups of tea, and rose pastries. They even recommended travel routes and restaurants to us, which were very good, and we even got discounts or freebies by telling the restaurants where we were staying. It was easy to communicate with the staff on WeChat, they responded promptly, and arranged free airport transfer for us as we stayed more than three nights. Food: Breakfast was served every morning, which included a bowl of Yunnan mixian (noodles), a steamed bun, a hard-boiled egg, corn, and some spicy preserved vegetables. Every booking came with one serving of afternoon tea, which included rose pastries and a variety of fruits. We arrived after midnight and the staff prepared some rose pastries and fruit for us, in case we would be hungry, which was very thoughtful of them!

**Excellent Stay with Outstanding Hospitality** I had a wonderful experience during my recent stay at Liqiang. From the moment I arrived, the level of service exceeded my expectations. The highlight of my visit was the exceptional hospitality provided by our host, Mr. Sing, who went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. He was incredibly caring and attentive throughout our stay, taking the time to help arrange our itinerary and providing valuable local insights. Mr. Sing's assistance was invaluable - he personally helped us with our luggage from the main entrance all the way up to the hotel, which we greatly appreciated. His local knowledge really enhanced our trip, as he introduced us to excellent dining options and guided us to the best shopping areas in the vicinity. The genuine care and attention to detail shown by our host Mr. Sing made our stay not just comfortable, but truly memorable. I would highly recommend Liqiang to anyone looking for a place that combines good accommodations with outstanding personal service. Thank you to Mr. Sing for making our visit so enjoyable!

Situated in the ancient town with a nice view. The path is quite rough and uneven so the staff helped us carry the luggage from the point where the taxi dropped us. The staff was very helpful and provide a lot of guidances. As we would miss the breakfast for both mornings because we would need to leave early for the tours, the staff packed the breakfast for us! The staff also helped me at late night with booking a taxi to a bus station. If it were not for him, we would have missed the bus to Tiger Leaping Gorge as no Didi taxis accept our advance booking.

We were staying in Lijiang for a few days and this was our Stay for the duration,directly in the Center of Oldtown at the Perfect Location. This is probably our favourite place in our travels in China. The Room was Spacious and Spotless clean. Since we were there in Winter the nights got quite cold but the modern heater made it warm and cozy.You also get so many snacks/tee and coffee. The whole Place feels like from a traditional fairytale With the Garden, the cute pets, and the hundreds if not thousands of Succulents and Flowers. Auntie makes a nice mixed breakfast and the Boss is super friendly too. The biggest Highlight was A Zhong though. He collected us from the Airport and also dropped us off when we had to leave in a classy mercedes. During our Stay he made sure we got everything we needed and more.Once we left Lijiang i lost my phone in Shang hai right before we had to leave the country, and he helped us to retrieve it from the police Station by getting us in touch with a local Police officer. Truly the best Guy there is. We will return to Lijiang one day and stay here again anytime!!

I am Delightfully Amazed by this renowned famous Banyan Tree Hotel. It is such a Beautifully Constructed Hotel with West Lake like Environment surrounding with Villas giving you a Big Beautiful Chinese style Garden Ambience. I am lucky to get a Free Upgrade to a Villa with Swimming Pools and Jade Dragon Mountain View right in front of Bedroom with a Garden (many thanks to their front office staffs). What impressed me the Most is all their Staffs are so Well Trained on All the Details Focusing on giving you the Best Services that Anyone would ask for. 5 Stars to their Top Management Direction, Management Implementation, All Ground Staffs Dedication to giving World Class Services. Their Restaurant Foods Quality is also very Good and at very Reasonable Pricing for a 5 Stars Restaurant. Do get their Restaurant Breakfast Package which is really Worth it for their Variety and Good Quality Foods. I will highly Recommend this Hotel for anyone that is Visiting Lijiang as even their Location is Perfect at the Middle of the 3 ancient towns so traveling around is within 10-25mins and away from the noisy busy ancient towns. It's my first time spending so much time and efforts to give this honest review because i simply think the Whole Banyan Tree Team deserves it. Impressed, Amazing, Enjoyable, Enchanting, Great Experience, It's a Only Hotel that I will Stay in Lijiang (i cancelled other hotel and extended another 2 more days in Banyan Tree)

Excellent place for a family retreat. Located in a quiet alley yet steps away from the bustling main street, Guan Xin offers great accommodation and personal attention to our needs. The rooms are well designed and spacious. We only have good things to say after staying here for 3 nights for a family outing for 11 pax. Our stay was truly wonderful and beyond our expectations. From the beautiful surroundings to the heartfelt service, everything made this a very special experience for our family. What impressed us most was the amazing team behind the hotel. From the front desk, to the activity organisers, to the restaurant staff, everyone was warm, friendly, helpful, and attentive. We felt genuinely welcomed and well taken care of throughout our stay. It is not easy to find a hotel where the service feels so sincere and consistent in every part of the experience. The room arrangement was one of the most unforgettable parts of our stay. Waking up to the breathtaking view of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain was simply amazing. The view received so many compliments from our friends and family, and many of them even asked us more about the hotel because they were so impressed. It truly made our stay feel extra special. A very special thank you to Jennifer, the Front Office Manager, for her prompt replies and thoughtful arrangements before our stay. Her care and attention to detail made us feel reassured even before we arrived, and we really appreciated all the effort she put in to make our stay so well arranged. Another highlight was how kid-friendly the hotel is. There were so many enjoyable activities for children, especially the animal feeding sessions and campfire dancing. Our child enjoyed them so much, and seeing her so happy made the stay even more meaningful for us. The fact that she is already asking to come back says everything. Breakfast was also a wonderful part of our stay. There was a good variety, the food was enjoyable, and the setting was beautiful. Starting each morning with the peaceful view of the lake and mountains made the experience even more special. This hotel truly raised our expectations of what a great and luxurious hotel should be. It is not only a beautiful property, but also a place made special by a team that brings so much warmth, care, and dedication to every guest’s stay. I appreciated the convenient location and service, but the misleading tour arrangements, unexpected extra charges, and poor coordination made my overall stay frustrating and disappointing. Location: The hotel is in the southern part of the Old Town, which has fewer crowds than other areas. It’s quieter, still beautiful, and easily accessible. Service: The hotel offers one complimentary train/airport pickup if arranged in advance (for 3 night stay). The staff helped carry my luggage from the South Gate (cars can’t enter the Old Town) and provided welcome fruit upon request. Breakfast was as described, though the noodles were undercooked. The staff were responsive and helped me book tickets, including a trip to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain—but this is where things went wrong. Initially, the hotel staff quoted me a reasonable price that matched my research and said the schedule was flexible, I could spend as much time as I like. When I went to book, they suddenly told me I needed to pay about 200 RMB more because I was a foreigner—something I knew wasn’t true from my experience in other cities. They also said lunch was mandatory. I was short on time and wanted convenience, so I accepted the extra charges. Although I was told that jackets, oxygen bottles, and water would be provided, the driver took me and other Chinese tourists to a store to buy additional oxygen and energy drinks at four times the normal price. There I was told the “free” oxygen bottle was too small—information the hotel hadn’t mentioned. I bought one just in case but never needed it. I booked a sunrise tour with a 5 a.m. pickup, but we didn’t actually see sunrise at the mountain—partly due to weather, partly because the schedule wasn’t designed for it. The driver took me to Blue Moon Lake first, then the cable car, and the Impression of Lijiang show last. He kept saying I was short on time, so I needed to buy an additional ticket for battery car to get around and rushed through Blue Moon Lake without knowing how long the walk should take, only to end up waiting an hour at the cable car. After the show, we were taken to lunch, which had no menu—just a very basic hot pot shared with random strangers seated at the same table. The driver texted me to hurry up because other passengers were waiting and even told me that they didn’t pay for lunch because they knew it wasn’t good. That upset me even more. Overall, I felt rushed, overcharged, and misled, and the whole experience made the trip far less enjoyable. Amenities: The amenities were as described, but there was no daily housekeeping or towel replacement.

Thr view of the Snow Mountain greets you upon arrival at the hotel. Nice! The villa and hotel are well-appointed and the heated flooring is extremely welcome feature though I wonder why they didn't offer the heated toilet seat which is now a feature even in the family-run hotels in Shangri-la. We were given one of the furthest villas and had to rely on buggy service throughout the stay. So,I'd advise you check your villa location. The breakfast is sumptuous and food is overall respectable. What I find to be lacking is the absence of warmth from the service staff. They are not rude but it felt like they were just doing their job professionally. A few times I encountered issues and the first service staff assigned was unable to support. Compared to the rest of my last few hotels, they were rated the lowest in this area. So I'd recommend this hotel to those who just want to enjoy a great value stay and can be totally self-sufficient chilling in their rooms.

Great location! Close to the intersection, very convenient for getting around. It’s not far from Sifang Street, and the homestay is right across from Mufu—perfect spot! The courtyard is beautiful, full of flowers and plants. The host is super warm and always invites me for tea when free. The tea is amazing! Highly recommend—stay here when you come to Lijiang!
