"Hotel is very very old, in need of an updating. View is ok. Location is at the end of Ximending, for its price, guess I’m paying for the location. Friendly staff who allowed early check in. Overall good stay as we used it as a resting place only."

"I had a fantastic stay at Hotel Gracery Taipei during my recent trip. The location is truly unbeatable—being right next to the Taipei Main Station area made it so easy to get around the city, and the access to the Airport MRT made my arrival and departure completely stress-free. The room was clean, modern, and well-designed, offering a comfortable retreat after a long day of exploring. I especially appreciated how quiet and well-maintained the hotel is, despite being in such a bustling part of the city. The staff were professional and helpful, and the proximity to plenty of shopping, food options, and transport links is a huge plus. Whether you are in Taipei for business or leisure, this hotel is a solid, reliable, and convenient choice. I would definitely stay here again."

"Great location close to restaurants and public transit but the hotel is very old. In dire need of upgrades - original design probably from the 1970s? Odd shaped bathtub taking up the majority of the bathroom, no shower curtains. Bizarre. Service was mediocre, not very friendly"

"I had a pleasant stay at Ilume Hotel Taipei. The hotel offers a nice city view and is very conveniently located, with easy access to public transportation. There are also plenty of convenience stores and dining options nearby, which made everything very convenient during our stay. The room we stayed in was one of the refurbished rooms, and it was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. Overall, the room quality was quite good and met our expectations. That said, the service could be improved slightly, as response time and attentiveness were sometimes a bit slow. Nevertheless, it did not significantly affect our overall experience. Overall, Ilume Hotel Taipei is a good choice for travelers looking for comfort, accessibility, and value for money. I would consider staying here again in the future."

"The hotel is located in the center of the city. The area is considered a wealthy area, next to Da-An District Police Station which makes it extra safe. The area is mainly residential, not as busy as nearby other shopping districts, but close enough to enjoy shopping, it is also within walking distance to Da- An City forest Park where local residents and to tourists enjoy. The slight downside for travelling is only buses running through; the closest MRT station is about 10 minutes walking which is not too bad. My room was big and clean; the house keepers changed the dirty towels every day. The hotel doesn't provide tooth brushes or toothpaste. The one thing to consider as a little disappointing is that breakfast; normally the hotel at this level provides at least 3-4 different fruits to choose from, but here only 2 (mainly citrus fruits; this is a bit poor to consider Taiwan is such fruit heaven); there are no pastries besides breads; the western fried eggs are far too watery. I gave the service 4 stars only because the staff serving breakfast looks bored and not happy in the morning. Also clean the table while you are still consuming your food which is not professional. In general, I still enjoyed the stay and would like to return again in the future."

"We were a group of seven staying from 1–2 November 2025. Good Service: The receptionists were friendly and helpful. The hotel also provides a convenient shuttle service to go down from the hotel, which is located on a mountain slope. We requested an early check-in at 5 p.m. as we had a baby, and the hotel kindly accommodated our request. Since the building has four storeys and our rooms were on the 3rd and 4th floors, the staff also helped carry all our luggage to the rooms — much appreciated! Cleanliness: The toilet and hot spring areas were clean, bright, and well-maintained. Minor Issue: I stayed on the top floor, and around 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. we heard some noises from the ceiling — possibly from animals. I couldn’t sleep well that night. We gave feedback to the receptionist, who explained that the building is close to the forest and the sounds might have come from raccoons. Overall: We were satisfied with our stay. The excellent service and cleanliness made it a pleasant and enjoyable experience overall."

"This is my first time spending my vacation at Amba Taipei Songshan. I was there for 7D6N from Thu 11th Dec 2025 to Wed 17th Dec 2025. The hotel lobby was on the 17th floor of the Amba building. The front counter staff were very nice and friendly. I was given a pair of slippers with the name Amba on it as a free gift. The Medium River View King Bed room was on the highest 21st floor. The sanitary conditions in my room was good and well-maintained. Everyday the housekeeper will tidy my bed, clean the bathroom and toilet and sweep the floor. I put my passport in a safe with my own password in my room. On my 2nd day on Thu 12th Dec 2025, I had visited the 24 hours hotel gym on the 18th floor. Although it was a small gym, I think they had enough equipment like treadmill, step machine and weights to keep me fit. Amba Taipei Songshan do not hv a swimming pool becos it is considered a 4 star hotel. I don't like to swim so it is alright for me. Breakfast time was from 630am - 10am which sounds a bit weird for me becos most hotels that I had stayed overseas and local had breakfast time from 630am - 1030am, extra 30mins. Not much choices for breakfast. Two main types : (1) Chinese : stir fried noodles or rice + cabbage + red bean bao + meatball, porridge provided with pickled cucumbers (2) Western : omelette with no ingredients & fried egg, salad furnished with different ingredients like green beans, bread provided with jam & peanut butter, hard boiled eggs, salami and peppered pastrami, baked beans, hash brown and chia seeds Personally, for breakfast, I loved the salad with green beans, omelette, hard boiled eggs, salami, peppered pastrami and 1 cup of cold chia seeds + kopi O. I was very surprised to have 1 cup of cold chia seeds for my breakfast becos chia seeds is healthy and usually not found in breakfast list in hotels. I had stayed in 2010 at Grand Hyatt Taipei before and did not have chia seeds for breakfast at Grand Hyatt Taipei, a 5 star hotel. Amba Taipei Songshan has a bridge on the 3rd floor which linked to Songshan bus interchange & Songshan MRT. It was very convenient to walk over to have my lunch and dinner at the shopping mall on top of Songshan bus interchange and Songshan MRT. The temperature outside was 18 - 19 deg C. Was considered very cold to me. So I had to wear double layer tee and a thick windbreaker to keep me warm when I went out. Overall, the stay at Amba Taipei Songshan was above average."
