"Amazing hidden gem. Staff very friendly, free snacks and coffee on arrival, great room, free laundry and conveniently located next to places to eat and be social. Would definitely stay here again if back in the city with the huge TV screen."

"Comfortable bed and warm room with plenty of light. Biggest complaint would be the water. Maybe we were unlucky but our room was without water for around 3 hours during our stay (during the day) and when it came back on the water was not hot enough for a shower for the rest of the day. Fortunately the following day the water was back to normal. Breakfast was average."

"We were warmly greeted by friendly staff upon arrival, making us feel welcome right away. The check-in process was quick and smooth, and the team went the extra mile to help us register on their app as we are foreigners, ensuring we could easily access Wi-Fi and contact them if needed. We had called ahead to request a humidifier and air purifier, and were pleased to find them already prepared in our room when we checked in. The room itself was spacious, impeccably clean, and very comfortable. The shower had excellent water pressure, and the inclusion of an electric toilet with a heated seat was a thoughtful touch, especially during the winter season. Throughout our stay, every staff member we encountered was genuinely helpful and sincere in their service, always making sure we were well taken care of. We initially planned to stay from 6/12/24 to 8/12/24 but felt so at home that we decided to extend our stay for an additional two days. A big thank you to the team at Mecure Hotel for their exceptional service and attention to detail. Me and my Husband had agreed this is best hotel in our 17 days China trip. We had a fantastic stay and look forward to returning in the future. Great job!"

"來到浩海國際酒店，是我目前住過最滿意的酒店。1.首先是入住，我預訂了無窗房，前台平姐主動升級了向南街景房間（見圖6），並且主動提供了耳塞和茶，服務極其熱心。2.客房部張春弟主動提供小零食、泡腳桶和泡腳葯包，並且主動幫忙手洗將近10件衣物（見圖3、4）非常有心，令我極其感動，住遍全國各色酒店，從未有如此愉快體驗，令人受寵若驚！3.客房部張素芳極其用心負責，本來沒有讓打掃床鋪，可是她還是把全屋都整理一遍包括床鋪，和新入住的一樣。4.在電梯遇見董月英，主動噓寒問暖，並主動提供果盤（圖5），令客人有賓至如歸之感。5.客房劉建宏，得知我們愛吃酒店送的零食饃片，主動申請，送了將近十包，很有心，讓我們很感動。總之這次入住，讓我們知道了酒店服務的天花板並不是什麼五星級品牌大酒店，而是浩海國際酒店。我們雖然付了不高的房費，但是每一個工作人員都竭盡全力，主動關心幫助我們，讓我們有一種被圍起來關愛的感覺，真的極其感動！我真心希望所有來大同的客人都可以來嘗試浩海國際酒店！下次如果有幸再來大同一定會入住浩海國際酒店！"

"I was greeted with a fruit platter during check-in, which was a wonderful welcome gesture considering I left my home about 24 hours earlier, traveling non-stop from California to Datong, China. The Inn provides a wonderful experience for the first-time foreign visitor. The interior decor has that Chinese charm consisting of artwork, a book display, an aquarium with an auspicious collection of 8 large fishes (carp, I think), in-room tea set with an on-table electric stove, which would be unique to most Westerners. The glass flooring adds an extraordinary appeal since I have never experienced that in a hotel before, and I have traveled to dozens of countries. The Inn is well located, a short bus ride to Datong Railway Station (for non-high-speed rail travel)*, and a short taxi ride to Datong South Railway Station (for high-speed rail travel)**. It is just next to Datong City Wall. You can walk along the top of the City Wall at no cost. A 10-20 minute walk takes you to nearly all the attractions within the ancient City Wall. Here you will also find a variety of restaurants serving local food as well as souvenir shops. There is also a small shop that sells sundry items including drinks (beer included) within a 5-minute walk from the Inn. Across from this sundry shop, is a shop that specializes in ancient Chinese clothing (Hanfu dress). They can dress you up, cosmetics included. The Inn provides directions to Yujian Yun Gang - a popular destination for travelers to Datong. Here you will see ancient Buddhist cave art, including large and tall (several stories tall) sculptures. It takes two bus rides to get there, 1RMB per ride. My booking choice was for either a guest room on the 1st or 2nd floor but was assigned a wonderful 2nd-floor guest room. The owners of the Inn were exceptionally friendly. I met both the mother and her daughter. My room was professionally cleaned and provided with drinking bottled water daily. If I return to Datong in the future, I will certainly book a room at this Inn. *I took a train from this station to travel south to Xinzhou after checking out. **I arrived in Datong from Beijing Daxing International Airport"

"The Yunzhong Chaoran Pavilion was newly renovated just prior to our stay in January 2026. The whole building is spotless, beautifully decorated, and comfortable. The staff make an effort to understand you, and are adept at using translation apps when conversation breaks down. They have a “Xiao Du” feature , similar to the American “Alexa”, where you can ask it to turn lights off and on, as well as to open and close the curtains . The receptionist patiently helped me to learn how to use it - and frankly , it was great practice for my pronunciation of Mandarin. Finding the hotel is as challenging as any other located where vehicles are not permitted to enter. We were fortunate to have a taxi driver who helped us figure out where the hotel was, and then walked us there. Datong is not yet well known as a tourist destination. However, it is a reasonably close drive to the Hanging Temple and the Grottoes, as well as the Wooden Pagoda. There is plenty to see within walking distance. The city space around the hotel is under construction- I expect it will become a lot more popular in the next two years."
