We arrived very early at the hotel but the arrival experience is superb. I was assigned to room 309 at level 3 in 20mins. The room is very decent size enough for 1 person. The bed is queen size bed, the blanket pillows and mattress decent clean bit not too comfortable for my preference. Bedroom Experience:6/10 The bathroom is very spacious for this room size with seperate bathtub and standing shower. Wash basin is decent size for 1 person. Toilet is automatic and is very comfortable. Enjoyed the hot tub daily after work. Bathroom Experience: 7/10 I was assigned an ocean sea view room. The train horn sound is very distrubing my sleep. If you are light sleeper, please take it serious consideration. I was awake by train horn every 6am in the morning."

"Stayed for a night after landing in Colombo. Hasini checked us in and was very friendly and welcoming; we were given all the information we would need during our stay. Large hotel with well kept rooms. Highlight of the stay had to be the breakfast buffet! The quantity and quality of options were amazing. Wish we had stayed another night so we could've enjoyed the buffet once more."

"This hotel is in Wattala which is only 7km from the Fort train station but feels ages away. Service - excellent. As in all areas of Sri Lanka the staff are very friendly and helpful. All say hello and genuinely seem to enjoy their jobs. There seems to be an army of cleaners and wait staff and again, all are friendly with very good English. The doorman was my favourite with a massive smile and great personality! There were some issues with the half-board deal I was on regarding when and where you can have the half board - which is only breakfast and dinner although on Trip it reads like you have a choice of when you can have your two meals a day. So just clarify when you arrive to be sure. Facilities - big open ground, big swimming pool which you could do laps in if you wanted but also with decent steps on the side so younger children can play. There is also a small children's pool too which is adjacent to the big pool and next to the sun bathing area which has around 10 sun chairs in pairs with an umbrella and small table around the grass area, with more chairs and beanbags set up on the higher area. I have seen big groups playing team games, cricket, football, some weird waterpolo/volleyball/handball game in the pool and even a few keen cricket players today. Restaurant - the floor level open air restaurant is well staffed, nicely proportioned and the buffet breakfast, lunch or dinner is extensive (if a little repetitive after three days). On some occasions there was live music which was nice and not overpowering, playing mainly English music. Bar - The Fishery is the outdoor restaurant for al e carte food service and some drinks. You can choose to sit under the roof bar area or under trees next to it, on big picnic style seating. Gym - this is located next to the pool/restaurant and although it is a bit tired, it has everything you need. The running machines are a bit clunky but at least they work, the weight machines are a little stiff to move but again they are functional. There are free weights and area to work out - even a small space for yoga or stretching if thats your thing. There is also air conditioning - and in 30+ heat, very much needed! Downside - its a bit hard to get to and you have to take a taxi or tuk tuk (don't pay anything over 5,000 for this!). The beach which you can see and hear, is very close but not suitable for swimming - especially for young children. Also the beach isn't particularly clean - outside the hotel the beach is raked for appearances, but walk 50m to your left or right, and its not too pretty! Not really a downside but be aware that if you are here in weekend, this place seems to host a lot of parties, weddings and events - which is great energy with lots of noise and atmosphere. It is a lot quieter in the week days. And the pool becomes full in the afternoons!!!"

"Sheer British Colonial history setting from 150 years ago. Immaculately observed, including the lowering of the Sri Lankan flag every day at 6pm, accompanied by a Scottish bagpiper!! Excellent location, close to the city centre but just enough away, right be the sea, in front of the iconic Galle Face Green. The pool is sourced from the sea water all the time. Good size, good facilities. Clean. Sunset views exceptional. Food available in several locations in the hotel, including the popular, much talked about buffet breakfast and bar food. Prices reflect the maintenance of traditional cuisine in a the modern world… But not as expensive as other modern hotels nearby, eg the Kingsbury. Highly recommended. We were here in the run up to Christmas 2025. The decorations will put many Christian countries to shame!.😁 They obliged us with a late check out. Five stars!"

"Ich habe diesen Ort zufällig nach meiner Anreise auf die Insel am Handy entdeckt und ohne weiter drüber nachzudenken gebucht. Auf dem Weg und bei der Ankunft wurde ich positiv überrascht. Es geht ein wenig aus der Stadt raus und in die wunderschöne Natur Sri Lankas. Das Haus liegt am Rand eines kleinen Dorfes mit Ausblick von der Dachterrasse auf Felder und Wälder. Und lädt sehr zum Entspannen ein. Auch das ganze Haus ist mit viel Liebe zum Detail gebaut und man fühlt sich direkt wie zu Hause. Der Hausherr ist super gastfreundlich und auch das lokale Essen welches er anbietet ist sehr lecker. Von ihm kann man sogar ordentlich etwas über das Land lernen. Ich blieb mehrere Tage dort, es ist super um die Seele baumeln zu lassen. Und auch nicht zu kompliziert um in die Stadt zu kommen. Die nächste Bushaltestelle ist nur ca 15 Minuten zu Fuß entfernt. Nächstes Mal gerne wieder. Dann vielleicht sogar mit Pool auf der Dachterrasse ;)"

"Hotel room was renovated. tv is not able to view YouTube which is a drawback. Overall the service is good. Variety of breakfast items is huge compared to the other hotels I’ve stayed in Srilanka."

"Arrived very late and we’re still welcome D with non alcoholic freshly made juice for my self and my littlest extremely accomodating at such a late hour breakfast was a buffet setup with. Oth Western European and traditional Sri Lanka cuisines and we still pretty much could order anything anyway - my daughter wanted western style eggs fried sunny side up on toast cracked them right there in front of here the view was incredible from our room you could hear the ocean crash against the rocks only wish we could have stayed longer really good people place service was exceptional- you. E nice they be nice easy peasy xox"
