"Ms. Indah & Ms. Bertha the receptionist who helped during check-in process also Mr. Isdiono the security was very kind, friendly, and helpful. The other hotel staffs I've met such as the chef, room boy, and the office worker also very friendly and helpful. As this hotel has a very large area, sometimes you may ask direction to the hotel staff. This hotel is new so the room condition is super good, comfortable, and clean. The pillow was very big, soft, and comfy. Each non-smoking guest room features a flat-screen HDTV, coffee/ tea maker, mini-refrigerator, desk, sleeper sofa, safe, slippers, robes, bath products, hair dryer, bottled water, and a very fast wi-fi connection. Beside this hotel there is Wyndham Garden Hotel & Conference and Sooji the instagrammable restaurant. Stay active with jogging and BMX tracks, a gym, outdoor pool, and outdoor children's play area. "Honestly, i LOVE this hotel. I always travel during low season because i always look for peace and silent days during my metime getaway.
I chose Amaranta because there is no more such hotel in Jogja that i thought would serve what i needed.
And i made the right choice!!
The room was spacious with open bathroom (can close if want to). The bed and beddings were crisp clean with fresh soft relaxing clean scents. The bed and pillows were all comfy and clean.
The balcony was spacious and offers Prambanan temple and Merapi mountain view.
The Roof top was nice, but quite windy.
The Pool is gorgeous at night, rather than day time.
The staffs were all friendly and helpfull towards my nightly requests.
I will definitely come back to Amaranta when i need my peace getaway in the future."

"We enjoyed our stay here with excellent service with a smile always. The room is very spacious and clean although the floor is not carpeted. The housekeeping services were prompt and exceeded our expectations and special mention to the staff Andri. "I booked 11 rooms for my team of 20 pax and have requested for non-smoking rooms but, about half reeked of smoke. Single rooms booked were also unavailable though it was booked early. Instead we were given rooms with twin beds joined together even though my team members paid premium. There were also cockroaches in a few of the rooms. We were not compensated except for four cakes sent to our rooms, 1 of which was left outside the room door."

Pros: Very nice room with wide balcony, facilities are great, there is ATM BCA inside the hotel (very nice), beside the small palace which has historical value (great one), beside big mall either, nice pool, good garden, hospitality of staffs, and located near center of Jogja.
Cons: Shower selection problem (need maintenance/replace), parking way to turn on inside parking building is smaller than ideal (hard to turn for Pajero, Fortuner or big cars).
But the total rank is vety good. Thanks.

My family & I usually stay in T*ntr*m (been our no 1. option in Semarang, Yogyakarta, and Tangerang for a while), but considering NY traffic, decided hotel next to mall as safer option, and I think Marriott Yogya will be our no 1. option in Yogyakarta now.
PRE-STAY
Staying experience actually starts the second we finished the hotel reservation, maybe its long before we even arrive at the hotel. Most dont really optimize this.
What I will highlight is Marriott really put my requests (birthday decor in specific room, connecting rooms) into the system, where everyone can check. From the one handling the WhatsApp to the receptionist the day we arrive, Ilham. And they execute my request really well.
I've experienced some that forget my request and ended up decorating the wrong room, or not facilitating the request, even though they said they will facilitate.
*see pic 8 - 11. It doesnt have to be expensive, businesses have to calculate the cost and margin. Whats important, for me, is put some effort into it. Its part of making the stay memorable.
STAY
I love it when :
- the moment we arrive, the staff helps us by opening the car door, w/ the smile and greeting. Not from just one person, but every staff did the smile and greeting.
- Ilham texted that the other room is ready. Most just rely on guest will be the one to follow up, but not Marriott.
- we asked the way to mall entrance, the staff took us to the entrance, not just directing w/ hands.
- they put anti-slip mat in shower area (pic 6), such a functional addition for safety. Because aesthetic needs to meet w/ function.
- we went out at 8.30 in the morning for culinary & coffee around Yogyakarta and put the cleaning sign on, but forget to call, just to communicate that we want the room cleaned while we're out. 2,5 hours later when we're back, those 2 rooms are neat & tidy.
Some hotels dont notice the difference those make for guest(s).
These, for me, really help building the memorable staying exp.

VVieraskäyttäjäIncredible stay! We booked a night here after a disaster at a neighbouring hotel and our stay was one of the best in Indonesia. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed with astonishing hospitality from all the staff members but especially Reza who went above and beyond to ensure that we were welcome and comfortable in the hotel. The facilities are top quality, the room was very clean and extremely comfortable, and we slept very well. The gardens and hotel grounds are extremely well maintained, beautiful, and have lots of space for relaxation or, if you have kids, spaces to keep kids entertained. The hotel has ample options for food/drink and also entertainment and also offers tours of the local area. It was also my girlfriend's birthday and the staff again put in genuine effort to make it a really special day for her, we are extremely grateful for their efforts - 5 star service.
I can strongly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants an escape from the city and to be near mount merapi or who wants a bit of relaxation.

Breakfast was great too, with lots of variety and great taste. The staff were incredibly warm and attentive. A special shoutout to Sugeng, who stopped by our table during breakfast to tell us more about the viennoiserie selections and shared a lovely little chat.

VVieraskäyttäjäOver the course of 2 day stay, we had to switch room 3 times before getting a proper room (the 4th room) without any issues. The issues were ranging from broken toilet flush, strong humid/musty strong room smell, old musty sheets and towels in the room, etc.
The staff at the front desk were helpful, but we left feeling unimpressed by the experience.

DDon Thusitha - AustraliaAs a memeber of Accor Hotels, I book mercure hotels in Jakartha and other countries generally. Here I stayed 2 nights in this Grand Mecure , Yog Yakartha. Firstly, this hotel is super beautiful and decorated, giving value to culture and heritage signages. Every where hotel artefacts matching with heritage Borobudur, prambanan.
Staff is very pleasant, polite, and always with a good smile, helpful, and supportive. Rooms are excellent. Special words should be placed here about breakfast . You can have multiple choices. Inluding Western, eastern, and traditional Indonesian foods and drinks. I think best break fast choices I have ever seen so far.
Restaurant staff also very nice. Bar staff memeber also very good. She somehow managed to provide food and drinks at the last moment last night. Not only that, the security team is also pleasant and helpful. Even though a bit far from Malioboro Street, staying here is fully worth it.

The rest are not up to expectations.
1. Location is far from town and airport.
2. Amenities are very old. A lot of things are spoiled and yet not replaced or repaired.
3. Because everything is old and dated, they look dirty too. Bedsheets are full of stains!
4. Water pressure of shower is very low. Take a long time to bathe.
I booked here just because the event I was going to was hosted in this hotel. Glad that I didn’t extend my stay after the event. I am sorry but I won’t recommend this hotel.
