It is the perfect spot for a couple's retreat, friends' getaway, or family fun! As soon as you walk into the cabin, you will be greeted by unforgettable mountain views. Step out onto the wrap around deck to take it all in! On the main level, you will find a fully equipped kitchen for all of your cooking needs. We will provide a small starter supply of K-Cups for the Keurig. A gas grill is located off the kitchen. There is a queen bedroom with a shared full bathroom on the main level as well.Walk up to the second-floor loft for the master suite. Sleep in a king size bed with its own full bathroom. All three TV's have a ROKU. Feel free to utilize YouTube TV, or log into any of your personal streaming services. We know how hard it can be to travel with young kids, so we wanted to make it easier for you! Our guests will have access to a highchair and pack and play (just bring your own sheets and mattress topper if needed) and a baby gate. An idyllic setting for a large group of up to 14 people- the CAPER Compound is set in a valley within Black Rock Mountain State Park. The two stylish, rustic, yet modern cabins share 3 acres with mountain views. Each cabin has a hot tub and fire pit with room to sleep 7 (14 total). With 5 king bedrooms and 1 bunk room, there's space for everyone to be comfortable. The perfect oasis for a large group to hike the trails of Black Rock Mountain State Park by day and star gaze fireside by night.Two modern, updated cabins sit on a private 3 acre tract of land surrounded by creeks on either side. The lower cabin and the new upper cabin are about 100 yards from each other.The lower cabin is original to the property and built in 1940, it was purchased from the original family and renovated in March of 2021. The cabin now boasts a vaulted ceiling in the comfortable, cozy living area that is open to the newly equipped kitchen complete with brand new appliances. The space comfortably sleeps 6 adults or 4 adults and 3 kids with two king bedrooms and a queen over queen bunk room. The main attraction of the lower cabin is the outdoor area that takes full advantage of the amazing mountain setting within Black Rock State Park. The walk out back yard is equipped with an extra large hot tub, outdoor shower, fire pit, dart board and grilling area (with pass through window to kitchen) all with incredible mountain views. The upper cabin (lovingly called the "Treehouse") is set up on the hill, taking full advantage of the mountain views. This custom built modern cabin boasts ceilings ranging from 9' to 12', a state of the art kitchen with Samsung Bespoke appliances and large bedrooms each with king size beds and Pendleton blankets. Outdoor living is abundant with perhaps the most amazing aspect of the home, a 16' x 40' deck with a gas fire pit, hot tub, dining table, and direct connect gas grill- all with incredible mountain and treetop views. There are two full bathrooms, one ensuite master bath with a tub and shower and an additional full shower bathroom shared between the other two bedrooms.The space has plenty of room to comfortably sleep 6 adults with a loft play area for the kids that has a single foldout bed suitable for a child. If you have a Very Important Video Meeting or the SEC Championship, consider scheduling it when you aren't at the cabin just to be safe. SMOKING-No smoking or vaping in the cabin or on the porches. We ask that any smoking or vaping be done in the driveway or at the firepit. Note that we will assess a $200 fee for smoking on any of the porches. They are all wood. It is a fire hazard and the wood absorbs the smell. PETS - We do not allow any pets. No exceptions. We know you love your dog, cat, or lizard, and we probably would too! Just not as a guest at Summer's End at this time. Please do not lie that you have a service animal, it makes life hard for those who truly rely on them.If you really need to pet an animal during your stay, know that Rabun County was the site of the largest lack bear sighting in history and visit Dillard Stables! The surrounding farm land is private, please do not approach any cows. PARTIES – No gatherings at the house. We want you to enjoy your time, but ask that only the guests listed in your reservation enjoy the cabin due to our official occupancy and insurance restrictions. We have a Ring camera (no security cameras inside) and will have to ask you to leave if we see any shenanigans. GUESTS - See above. Only guests listed on your reservation are welcome. Local restrictions are very strict and unregistered guests are a violation of our license. If guests NOT listed on your reservation are present at any time, you will be immediately asked to leave with no refund AND an additional cleaning fee may be issued. PARKING - You must park in the driveway. You cannot park on Lovell Lane. It is a one lane road with insufficient space. Please do not try to back out of the driveway. Trust us. CARE OF PROPERTY - Our cleaning fee goes directly to our cleaning team to ensure that the property is clean and sanitized when you arrive. We ask that you leave it in the condition in which you find it, so please clean up after yourself (of course, we don't expect you to sanitize). This includes not leaving food on the floor, in the beds, or on the table, not using our countertop as a cutting board, and generally treating the space with respect. Please ensure that your children do not color on the walls, bedding, or furniture or place food on the record player. Please ONLY use woven outdoor blankets outside, all others must remain inside. If you use our hiking stick, please return it. Things like that. Though like most of us after 50 years a serious makeover was in need. We took a year to renovate and revamp the home into what it is today. We purposely left some if the original charm to keep the home true to the cabin in the woods feel.Serenity Ridge features three full bedrooms and two full bathrooms. Two rooms include a king size bed and one room includes a full over full bunk bed that sleeps 4 comfortably. We also offer a queen size air mattress. One bathroom includes a walk in shower while the Jack and Jill downstairs has a tub with rain shower. There is an upstairs wrap around balcony and a downstairs walk out balcony. Two spacious living rooms are perfect for adults upstairs and kids downstairs.There are 4 total smartTVs and cable is included. We also have an air hockey table, ping pong table, corn hole, fishing poles, sled, board games, and puzzles. Though hiking is recommended we also have a stationary bike for exercise on those clod or rainy days. We provide beach towels and coolers for those quick lake or river escapes. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the utensils you may need and a propane grill is provided. An additional full bathroom and laundry room were added as well as a queen over queen bunk room.The modern cabin design incorporates 12" pine walls to keep with the original look and feel of the cabin, while maintaining clean lines and a fresh look to the space.The space has plenty of room to comfortably sleep 6 adults or 4 adults and 4 kids with two king beds and a queen over queen bunk room. Breathable 100% cotton sheets along with memory foam mattresses on all beds are sure to allow for the dreamiest of slumbers.Several reading areas were thoughtfully placed to ensure that cozy cabin feel, including the front porch swinging day bed and master sitting area.The main attraction of this idyllic space is the outdoor area that takes full advantage of the amazing mountain setting within Black Rock State Park. The back yard is equipped with an extra large hot tub, outdoor shower, fire pit, dart board and grilling area (with pass through window to kitchen) all with incredible mountain views.The incredible location within the state park allows for hikers to access the James E. Edmonds trail from the cabin’s front door. While we believe this provides a cozy, cabin experience, we think it is important to note for our taller guests.INDOOR FIREPLACE:The indoor fireplace uses clean-burning bio-ethanol fuel. While it still provides heat, it does not give off any smoke or fumes. As a courtesy, we will provide 1 bottle of fuel (4-6 hr. burning time). Please ensure that the fire is out when unattended by using the metal tool provided to close off the flame. Please let us know if you would like for us to order you more fuel in advance of your trip.OUTDOOR FIREPLACE:We welcome you to use the outdoor fire pit area for a wood fire. While we cannot guarantee that there will be stocked firewood, there is usually some firewood left from other guests. If so, it is on the grilling deck and you are welcome to it. Should you have any left over, please consider leaving it for future guests. If you need more, the Black Rock State Park campground store, a mile up the mountain, sells it for $5 per bundle.
