Lakehouse Cameron Highlands offers a truly nostalgic escape—beautifully maintained with old-world charm that instantly transports you to another era. The service was top-notch and the food quality exceeded expectations, making our stay all the more memorable.
We especially appreciated the thoughtful Easter touches throughout the property—it really added to the charm and warmth of the experience. The breakfast was absolutely delightful, both in presentation and taste, and honestly, it’s a reason in itself to return.
Turn-down service was a lovely touch, along with the lighting of scented oil in the room, which created such a calming ambiance. The sea salt prepared for the bath and the bed itself added to the luxurious and relaxing experience.
However, we were a little disappointed that some items on the dinner menu, such as the lamb shank, were not available—especially given the limited choices. It’s something we hope will be improved in future visits.
Still, a truly charming and memorable getaway we’d gladly revisit.

The hotel is a bit apart but for my family this was a plus since we had rented a car and we were surrounded by nature, the fresh air, quietness and wide rooms are great, it’s not very new hotel but the environment was very nice, have a little park for kids my daughter enjoyed a lot. If order food need to find it at the hotel entrance which is a bit inconvenient but I guess is safety issue. Also a kind and funny Bunny received us at the lobby when we checked-in, my daughter really liked it. We definitely would repeat the experience in the hotel.

The hotel is located in Tanah Rata, set on a hill with beautiful greenery and cool weather. It has a peaceful, quiet environment—perfect if you want to relax away from busy areas. The colonial-style (Tudor) architecture gives it a classic English countryside feel, which many guests find charming.

Rooms are generally spacious and some come with balconies offering nice views. However, the interiors are a bit dated and may feel old compared to newer hotels. Cleanliness is usually acceptable, but consistency can vary.

About 20 years ago, on a trip to Cameron Highlands, I went to Ye Olde Smokehouse for a classic English high tea. It was gorgeous, with a fire in the fireplace and all the staples of a proper high tea including scones and such. This time, since we were going to Cameron Highlands, I thought we should actually stay at the Smokehouse. Great decision.
It's as charming as ever. Staying there gave us a chance to enjoy the lovely bar, gardens, dining room - all very old school and pukka! Staff are exceptional. Given that it's an old property, the rooms are a bit old school - but very nice all the same. Very reminiscent of a British club rather than a hotel - so perhaps not quite as refined as a modern 5 star hotel would be, but everything works, the rooms are comfy and there are lots of verandahs to sit out and enjoy the gardens from right outside your room.
It was one of the more expensive hotels of our trip but definitely worth it.

We stayed for 2 nights and were glad the hotel was located at Tanah Rata—otherwise, with the heavy traffic that day, we might not have been able to check in around 3 PM. The owner and staff were very friendly, always checking in on us and making sure we were comfortable. The room gave us a nostalgic feeling, as it was well maintained in its classic style, and the whole hotel itself carried that charming old-fashioned look. The atmosphere was cozy, peaceful, and felt like a step back in time. Overall, our stay was excellent, and we truly appreciated the warmth and hospitality.

Stayed here after booking through Trip.com and managed to get a really good price, definitely worth it for the value.
The highlight of my stay was the beautiful view from the balcony. The scenery was very calming, especially with the cool Cameron Highlands weather – memang best untuk relax. The room was comfortable and spacious, plus having a bathtub made the stay even more enjoyable.
Check-in and check-out process was smooth and hassle-free. Staff were friendly and easy to deal with, which made everything more convenient.
Parking was also easy to find, which is a big plus. The location is very strategic as it is close to Kea Farm and other attractions, so senang nak jalan-jalan without needing to travel far.
Overall, the hotel offers a peaceful environment with nice views, good facilities, and a convenient location. Definitely a good choice for a short getaway in Cameron Highlands.

For those who are very sensitive to noise, this place is not for you. Since its located in the mall, you can hear all the songs playing from the Centrum mall. No fridge in the room, but slippers are provided. Room is clean with sufficient plug port. January is cold enough that you won't even need to use the fan. They provided a la carte breakfast. However, they need to improve the nasi lemak. Better to use generic tea flavor instead of something like earl grey tea. Not everyone can appreciate the flavour. Location wise is fabulous.

The weather was delightful. The service staff was excellent, from reception to room service and F&B. It was a wonderful experience staying in a caravan. The reception area was beautifully designed. The steamboat grill dinner was good. Be prepared for camping-style shower facilities. There is no hot water in the caravan. The hot water at the shared toilet is unpredictable.

We recently spent 3 days and 2 nights at the 3-room apartment in Nova Highlands Hotel, located in the heart of Cameron Highlands. The apartment is spacious and well-suited for families or small groups, offering three separate bedrooms, a living area, and basic kitchen amenities. Its location is convenient, directly above a shopping arcade with eateries, a convenience store, and tourist attractions like the butterfly garden nearby.
Overall, our stay was comfortable, though there are areas for improvement. Cleanliness was average, and some furnishings showed signs of wear. The unit could benefit from better maintenance, particularly in the bathrooms. Noise from the surrounding area can also be heard in the evenings. However, the view from the balcony and the cool mountain air made up for it. It’s a decent, no-frills option for travelers looking for space and accessibility without expecting luxury.
