"Review of The Royal Park Canvas Kobe I recently stayed at The Royal Park Canvas Kobe and found it to be a comfortable and convenient base for exploring the city. The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from Sannomiya Station, with plenty of restaurants, shops, and convenience stores nearby. Kobe Chinatown is close by, and iconic spots like the “Be Kobe” monument and Kobe Tower are within a pleasant 25-minute walk. The Kitano Ijikan district is also easily reachable on foot. The hotel offers self-service check-in and check-out through machines, with front desk staff standing by if assistance is needed. My room had a relatively large bathroom, which added to the comfort. The buffet breakfast was not bad, and a fun highlight was the free ice cream available from 8pm to 10pm. A thoughtful touch is the presence of two donation bins where travellers can drop off unwanted clothing—an environmentally friendly and community-minded initiative. Overall, The Royal Park Canvas Kobe is a well-located, comfortable stay with nice little touches that enhance the experience."

"The hotel offers free wifi only inside the room. When you step outside your room, there is no free wifi in the lobby or even in the corridors outside your hotel room. There us a free shuttle service to Sannomiya. View outside our room is nice though."

"The hotel is well located and the room was clean. However, I felt uncomfortable during check-in because I did not receive a welcome/check-in bag while other guests did. There was no explanation given, which made the experience feel unfair. I hope the hotel can improve transparency about guest amenities."

"Title: Squeaky Clean and Good Storage, But Be Aware of Strict Cashless Fees and Missing Essentials Review: I recently stayed at the Sotetsu Fresa Inn Kobe Sannomiya. While the hardware of the hotel is good, certain policies and service gaps significantly impacted the comfort of my stay. On the positive side, the hygiene standards here are excellent. The room was spotless and very modern, which is always the most critical factor for me when traveling. I also want to express my appreciation for the luggage keeping arrangement. Being able to store my bags securely and easily both before check-in and after check-out was a huge help, allowing me to explore Kobe freely without the burden of heavy luggage. However, international travelers need to be aware of a major caveat: this is a strictly ”cashless” hotel. I attempted to pay with cash to avoid bank fees, but was refused. I was forced to use my VISA card, which meant I was hit with foreign transaction and exchange fees that amounted to roughly an extra 5% cost on my trip. I found this policy very rigid and frustrating for guests who prefer using cash. Furthermore, the in-room amenities and service were disappointing. Guests should know that the rooms are completely bare of essentials—there are no razors, toothbrushes, or toothpaste provided in the room. Realizing this late at night caused unnecessary trouble. Additionally, the housekeeping service lacked attention to detail; even though my Yukata (sleepwear) was clearly used and left out to be changed, the staff did not replace it with a fresh one. Overall, Sotetsu Fresa Inn offers a very clean environment, but the lack of basic in-room amenities and the strict payment policy make it difficult for me to fully recommend it to travelers trying to manage their budget and convenience."

"The location is so strategic and I had a good stay. The room is pretty, bed is comfortable, and they have free water and coffee from 11:00~6:00. The amenities is a bit lacking (there’s no face lotion, hair ties and stuffs), and they have hair iron but I have to take it to the receptionist by myself (usually they deliver stuffs like this to your room). But overall, it was a good stay and worth the money I guess."

"The hotel is old yet classic. Everything is in general well maintained, and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The hotel may not be so accessible compared with those in Sannomiya, but the hotel offers shuttle bus to Sannomiya daily and Shin-Kobe on weekends. It helps you get around and go to the train stations. However, do note that the bus may be full sometimes. But even so or if you miss the bus, it won’t be long to walk to Kobe (Rapid and Special Rapid) or Motomachi (Rapid), depending on the train you need to take. I really like the view. Even the room not facing the sea has a nice view both during the day and night. The Meriken park is also just downstairs. The hotel has a free self-service laundry and a Family Mart, but there are limited items to buy after 8 PM since no staff will be there. Another limitaiton is that the gym and the food service both close after 10 PM, if I recall correctly."

"The hotel was actually in the opposite side of the JR station and was difficult to locate using Google map. I walked to the Roynet premier hotel and was given a map to walk back to this hotel. It was not the usual standard of the Roynet group, but breakfast was good."

"The hotel room is very lovely. Do take advantage of the cheaper overnight parking at the hotel if you are driving. I parked elsewhere and the overnight parking fee is more than parking at the hotel. The breakfast buffet is simple but very delicious. The service is also very good. The hotel is also a participating hotel for the luggage delivery service. It saved me from the backaches of carrying the luggage by myself."

"The hotel is located in the CBD, very strategic location to access to everywhere. 5mins walk to the Chinatown, 10mins walk to train station, 15mins walk to Meriken park. The hotel seems a bit old but very well maintained, clean and comfortable. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. We love the stay very much and super valuable for its price!"

"Hotel is located in Hankyu building. Near to JR West exit or Hankyu east exit. Hotel lobby is at level 17. Excellent view from hotel lobby and room itself However front counter rejected request to provide extra mineral water upon request, says strictly 2 bottles per night Amenity bar provides toiletries but no shower cap."
