"I had a truly memorable stay at YUNDU and would strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, tastefully designed, and warm place to stay in Lijiang. Overall, the experience was very positive, with excellent service, cozy design, and many thoughtful touches. There were a few minor areas for improvement, but they did not take away from how much I enjoyed my stay. Breakfast was excellent and honestly better than many meals I had outside. The local auntie who prepares breakfast is incredibly warm and friendly. The mixian is very foreigner-friendly, light, comforting, and not oily or salty like many outside options. I requested extra vegetables and additional boiled eggs, and she was more than happy to accommodate. This care really stood out. YUNDU’s Samoyed dog, Sanjin (三斤), is truly the heart and mascot of the hotel. He is extremely friendly and intelligent. Staff would say things like “去拍照，去跟姐姐玩” and Sanjin would immediately come over. During my afternoon tea, he quietly came over and sat beside me, which was a very heart-warming moment. Upon checkout, I even received Sanjin fridge magnets and a Polaroid photo, which was incredibly thoughtful. First impressions were great. As part of the package, YUNDU arranged an airport pickup from Lijiang Airport using a clean, comfortable EV. The driver was friendly, chatty, and helpful, and the ride to the hotel was smooth and relaxing. I was pleasantly surprised with a free room upgrade. The upgraded room was spacious, perfect for morning stretching, and included a large and very clean bathtub. Bath balls and a sheet mask were provided, which was a lovely winter touch. The bed was very comfortable. The pillows were a bit soft for me, but there were firmer ones available, and layering them worked well. The blanket was thick, soft, and warm, and even during power outages, I stayed comfortable. Facilities were well thought out, including a Laifen hair dryer with strong airflow, a large high-definition TV facing the bed with VIP streaming access, and a large humidifier suitable for overnight use. The bathroom layout was excellent for winter, with separated toilet and shower. The electronic toilet has heating and auto-flush, and the shower area includes warm air from above. The mirror lighting is also great for makeup. There were some minor layout quirks. There is no floor heating, and the slippers were placed far from the entrance. The electric kettle was placed on a cabinet with no power socket nearby. Service was one of YUNDU’s strongest points. Staff helped with luggage, provided room tours, and checked in regularly via WeChat. When I mentioned possible altitude discomfort, they even gifted me an oxygen tank. The boss was friendly and happily helped me take photos with Sanjin. The only small gap was the butler service. I only realised who my butler was on the last night, and one included service, a butler-accompanied visit to Baisha Ancient Town, which never happened — neither I nor the staff remembered it until I reviewed my package later on Trip.com. That said, my butler was extremely efficient in arranging transportation to Lugu Lake, with smooth coordination and reasonable pricing. The entire property is tastefully decorated, cozy, and inviting. The fireplace in the lobby is a highlight and perfect for winter evenings. During my first two nights, there were power outages. While this delayed some of my work, the room stayed warm. The upside was zero light pollution, and I could see a sky full of stars, which became one of my favourite moments of the stay. I strongly recommend YUNDU to anyone looking for a beautiful view, thoughtful design, warm service, and a cozy yet affordable stay in Lijiang. If you love Lijiang, come to Baisha. If you love Baisha, come to YUNDU."

"Hotel located exactly at dukezong city with the windows overlooking songzanlin monestary. Owner is knowledgeable and accommodating. Really nice guy. He speaks really good English! Told us he used to teach English, a tour guide and also experienced photographer~. He show us comparison of 18 years ago dukezong from his photo album and current dukezong. Told us story how Shangrila name come about. We chats about his cats, one particular kitten named Puma is very naughty. Enjoyed being in his lobby where he set up the fireplace and the cats getting heat there. At lobby there's peanut and walnut on the table, we able to enjoy them while chit chatting. I really enjoyed being in this boutique hotel. All his staff can speak simple English too~ The bed is warm and toasty. I feel it's a blessing when we check in, it was snowing lightly as well. I can see owner have great personality and an animal lover. If I ever visit Shangrila I will surely extend my stay in this hotel; just to have story time with the owner. ❤️"

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and the service the team provided was impeccable - it was really easy to reach out to them via WeChat and they will always try their best to fulfil our requests, from arranging transport to and from the train station, to preparing portable breakfast before our hikes to Yulong Snow Mountain. The food at the restaurant was all made with fresh local produce and meat too, and we enjoyed all the meals that we had there. Let’s not forget the private hot spring tub, it’s so relaxing to have this available throughout the stay! Overall a really incredible stay, hoping to come back again!"

"Our family of four stayed in the Mountain View Family Room at Kui Ran Snow Mountain Resort from 24 to 28 December. This was a rather spur-of-the-moment booking on Trip.com, and while we had seen photos of the resort beforehand, nothing quite prepared us for the genuinely warm and personalised experience that awaited us, and the amazing view! Even before our arrival, the young and enthusiastic team reached out via WeChat to ensure a smooth check-in. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel completely at home. Every encounter — whether with management, kitchen staff, or the housekeeping ah yees — was met with friendly greetings and heartfelt small talk. What truly stood out was the personalised chat group created for our stay. Through it, we received thoughtful and detailed updates each day: breakfast menus, nightly bonfire timings, homemade supper featuring warm desserts, and even morning messages letting us know when the skies were clear so we wouldn’t miss the snow-capped mountains at their most magnificent. Breakfast was a colourful spread with plenty of options, and a special mention goes to the friendly barista who patiently prepared complimentary warm drinks for us each day — we were truly spoilt for choice. A big thank-you to the entire Kui Ran team. Apart from 小九, whom we spoke with daily, I was too shy to ask for the names of the other attentive and perpetually cheerful staff. Thank you for making the final days of our Yunnan trip so welcoming and memorable. I will definitely be recommending Kui Ran to friends and family — it is truly a hidden gem."

"Overall, a great stay to explore nearby attractions. The interior has a nice mix of Chinese style and modern features. The room and bathroom are spacious and well-equipped—with a heated toilet seat, disposable towels, and air-conditioning. You can relax in the public area with a pot of tea. Breakfast is simple but tasty. I enjoyed their local noodles, bread and fruit tea. Just note that the dining area is a bit small. The location is convenient, within walking distance to Baisha Old Town. On the way you will find a convenience store with fruit and grocery, local eateries, and a restaurant called 绿也 nearby. It seems a bit pricey for the average service, but good for afternoon tea and dessert after exploring the old town. You can also take a short cab ride to 牧羊咖啡, a lovely café with a garden—great for relaxing while watching the snow mountains. Besides u can find interesting cafes, western bakery, Wine store, soaps, ice-cream made from yunnan tea, and artistic decos in the old town."

"Our stay at this hotel left only wonderful memories! The room was huge. Two huge beds. Heated floors. Excellent water pressure in the shower. The view from the hotel is simply gorgeous. The old town of Baisha is just a 5-minute walk away. For breakfast, they serve the most delicious mushroom noodles in the world. The woman at the reception was very nice and always ready to help! "This gorgeous hotel at the foot of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, exceeded my expectations! Very friendly and helpful reception, and as a foreigner who cannot speak Chinese, I really appreciated everyone’s hospitality, including the owner who speaks English. My room was beautiful, and equipped with all amenities needed. The location is great, close to many attractions and it was surprisingly easy to get a taxi each time. The vibe of the hotel is truly unique - quiet, solitude, happy farm-style! The animals all have their own little “hobbit houses,” and are living their best lives at this beautiful, clean hotel. Furthermore, the snacks and afternoon tea was delicious and presented very well. I had so much fun doing the travel photo shoot at the hotel, and watched in awe as the sun rose over the mountain very morning."
