"We booked the Standard room with double bed - as it was middle range, not as modern as the Ocean View rooms you see in the example photos - but hoping it was not as poor quality as the windowleas rooms that got bad reviews. It was not quite as clean as I hoped but bearable. The room felt dusty around the edges, so we stayed away from the walls and back of the furniture. There was a lot of dust on the lampshade. Also I saw a long hair under the pillow before I got in and in the corner of the shower the next day. Also, there was a rolled up pair of Batman socks from a previous occupant, tucked behind the curtains. None of that would have been too bad, but the green emergency light was shining too brightly all night. I added a picture of of the view from the bed in the dark with the green light. Apart from that, the breakfast was good and the hotel was pretty in general. Also the location was great as it was along the sea front."

"The view is our go to hotel when we come to Eastbourne. The staff and facilities are excellent, the rooms are a great size with great views and we enjoy sitting in the bar area with our friends watching the world go by. The area is excellent and we have never struggled to park the car, remember to get a voucher from reception. We will be back!"

"Lovely hotel in a great location, very near the bandstand and town centre. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We always had a night cap in the bar before bed which was great. We also got a room upgrade to one with a partial sea view which was very nice to have. Parking was easy. You get given vouchers which we paid about £2 each per day for, and you can park on the surrounding streets. We were lucky and got just outside the hotel by the seafront. If in summer, you may want to get there in the evening when day trippers will have gone home. There's also the ncp car park near by if necessary. Bed was very comfy and bedroom was a good size with tea and coffee facilities. We didn't have any meals there so I can't comment on that. (I did notice on the menu that the vegan cooked breakfast consisted of vegetables but no meat substitute, which I thought was a bit poor for the price.) I'd certainly stay at this hotel again."

"Friendly and welcoming were we received and the rooms offered all the necessary amenties. It was clean, quiet for those who had their rooms far away from the elevator. Due to the age of the hotel I was not surprised of the noises the floor makes and the outdated interiors. The location is perfect, just watch out the street. The breakfast was a buffet and had rhe basic dishes. Keep in mind everything is self service, and there ia no cook to make you eggs."

"A 5 star luxurious Victorian beachfront hotel with a view! The highlight is the sea view so close you could hear the waves crash on the beach. Easy parking, welcoming staff, chocolate Easter egg gifts, goodie bags for the children, sumptuous breakfasts with unusual treats like figs, honeycomb, smoked haddock, ! the incredible main hall with the fireplace to relax in!!! Worth every penny! Thank you"

"My husband and i had a nice stay. Perfect location as only accross the road to the theatre where we went that evening. Toiletries/Tea & Coffee available in room. The room was clean and the staff were friendly. Would stay again."
