"Location was excellent, just on top of the Bilbao Intermodal bus station with a direct airport bus service. The hotel was a short walk away from the main sights of Bilbao, which we appreciated. Only disappointment was we received a stained bath towel, but rectified immediately by staff. Overall good value and would highly recommend the convenience."

"Fairly standard hotel for the price in a bit sketchy area of the city - not much to do around the place, only resident / hourly parking nearby so do not come by car and instead use one of the paid parking options in the city. It is completely safe and there are some breakfast/ drink options in the lobby but felt that the other hotel I stayed at in the Old town around the same dates provided a better value."

"We had such a great time this year for Semana Grande. And the Axel Hotel was in the perfect location for us. Right on the river next to a great spot for drinks and food. The rooftop pool is also a great spot to watch the fireworks! The staff was so helpful and friendly. And although we didn't need housekeeping while we were staying there they offered every day to clean our room or swap out towels or necessities for us. What a great experience. We will definitely be back!"

"Останавливались в этом отеле на 1 ночь, завтрак не брали.
Отель удобно расположен в пешей доступности от ж/д и автовокзала, недалеко от старого города. Остальные достопримечательности тоже в пешей доступности. Общественным транспортом для осмотра города не пользовались, единственно – ездили на метро к Бискайскому мосту (и переправлялись по нему через реку). Метро, кстати, тоже в 7-10 минутах ходьбы.
Комната маленькая. Шумоизоляции никакой. Когда читала об этом в отзывах, даже не могла представить, что настолько. Слышен каждый шорох у соседей. 1 ночь можно переночевать, но на более длительный срок я бы не рекомендовала.
В номере нет чайника, но можно попросить на ресепшен. Сотрудники очень любезные и доброжелательные. WiFi хороший.
Бильбао очень интересный город, рекомендую его посетить."

VVieraskäyttäjäHotel location is amazing. Terrace bar on level 7 with views of the Guggenheim was wonderful! Going up to the bar and getting some drinks and snacks was really lovely and the staff at the bar, reception and everywhere in the hotel were always friendly and helpful.
Really enjoyed the stay! Close to great restaurants and cafes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Try your best to follow a more Spanish time for lunch and dinner to feel the atmosphere and the culture. Late lunch, late dinner, snacks in between such as pintxos and vermouth at different bars around the area.

VVieraskäyttäjäHotel was minutes away from Guggenheim Museum Bilbao which was our planned at Bilbao. There is hotel parking with a fee available during booking. The breakfast was good. The hotel and resturant staff were friendly and kind.
My room was modern and clean, it comes with a streets view. There is room available with the museum view too.

VVieraskäyttäjäIt's a nice hotel. Everything you need is there. Good city part around. But the devil was hidden in the details.
1) Upon checking in, I discovered hair from a trimmed beard in the shampoo holder on the sink (while I was yelling and running around in circles my partner had just rinsed it off).
2) Centuries of dust on the shelf and TV.
3) The clock on March 01, 2024 is still set one hour ahead. at 8:40pm I get dressed and run out to a meeting by 9pm. which as it later turns out will be in 1.20 minutes. Answer: the technician is no longer at the hotel today, we will let him know. March 04, 2024, at the time of our departure, the clock is still showing the wrong time.
And I thought: ”ok we can live with that”. BUT
3) The room is hot, it's really hot. We Germans and so used to sleep at +17 degrees at night (save money energy and its healthy))). Also my the partner does not tolerate the heat at all (Also if you have age changes or something else... It could be horror). The answer from the hotel: ”It's winter, the air conditioner only works for heating”. This we find out after we have been ”cooling” for a day and a half (but the hotel description has 138 rooms with air conditioning!?).
4) We get a fan to cool down.
5) I discover that the sheets are 50 percent and the pillows are 52 percent synthetic. ((at this point, I realize why they are so sweaty and sweltering to sleep in. I know its subjective).
This hotel recived 3 out of 5 in my rating.
P.S.: The glasses were not washed perfectly (it's just gazpacho, not oil paint and black tea)
The toilet paper holder is positioned so that you hit it with your butt every time you sit down on the toilet, and when you sit down it rests on your chest

When I’ve mentioned it to the staff about not having an additional cost to it when you book online, they told me is part of the spa . This is very confusing as if it was part of the spa why mentioning it and not including it in the spa section .
Spa and sauna are not the same and if it’s a cost to it , that should be mentioned.
Anything else was amazing . Also they don’t have a separate cost to the sauna only ! I just wanted to use the gym and the sauna , no spa though! There was no possibility to book the sauna without the spa.
It’s like 20 euros per acces not per day which I thought it’s a rip off especially when you are already booked with the hotel and you’ve paid for your room! Again staff showed no flexibility , it was either pay for something you won’t use or you don’t get it!
Ended up not booking it because I did not want to use the spa , and I thought it was a lot of money (20 euros) to pay for 15 min use of sauna only.

Lähellä vanha osa Bilbaossa, jossa on paljon ravintoloita ja baareja. Myös lähellä kauppoja ja mukava joenkäynti Guggemheimin museoon. Voit ei maksaa ruokaa, koska ei käytä hotellin tiloja. Koko hotellilla oli moderni tyylikäs tunne sen. Tarkista ja poistu oli nopea ja henkilöstö oli kohtelias.Huoneita on melko pieni ja lasi seinämän kylpyhuone ei ehkä sovi kaikille maku. Kaikki yhteensä, me olimme iloisia jäädä tässä hotellissa sen sijainti ja kokonais tyylikkyys.

VVieraskäyttäjäLocation location location! After a long train ride, you probably do not want to travel further to your lodgings. LaTroupe is just across the street from the train station and although beside a busy traffic junction, it’s very quiet.
Also, the team comes up with various programmes in the evening, between 6-8pm. After that, you can head out for dinner as most restaurants open from after 7 or 8pm. Tabernas in touristy spots are open from the morning thru till late though.

HHosanChoose the hotel for its proximity to the Intermodal bus interchange. We walked to all the main tourist attractions from the hotel. Bilbao is a very walkable city.
What sets this hotel apart is the friendliness of the staff. The front counter team is genuinely friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Noemi who went out of her way to help us and gave advice on airline lost luggage.
The room is spacious for our needs. The king bed is super comfortable, with just the right firmness. Linen is plush and pillows are fluffy. It has a simple yet functional tea-making facility in the room. The room came with USB charger by bedside, which is essential for today's travellers.
We love the bathroom. Well-lit, full-size shower with strong water pressure. You will find the basic amenities (Toothbrush etc) in the bathroom.
The cleaner did a good job with the room. The hall and public areas are all spotless. Judging based on the interior, the hotel might have been refurbished not that long ago.

La habitación estaba muy fría según el termostato 19º a la llegada y fue poco a poco subiendo hasta los 24º al tercer día no es sano pasar frío en invierno ponemos la calefacción a 25º y en verano el aire a 19º.
Mal muy mal .
Por último tiene una terraza con servicio de bebidas y domingo a las 20:00 no había posibilidad de tomar un cocktail porque no tenía hierbabuena y faltaba café y no había posibilidad de algunas otras bebidas porque se habían agotado
Un desastre pedí un zumo de tomate y lo devolví porque era un tormento de picante
Es verdad que no nos cobraron ni el zumo ni el agua que sustituyó el zumo ni la cerveza de mi pareja.
Pero el servicio penoso. Son cinco estrellas de hotel.

Big room, nice beds, all amenities like tv, aircon, kettle, frige and safe. Real bath and bidet in the bathroom. Looks little bit tired, but ok. The only problem was a plastic card room key with magnetic strip, which had been unmagnetized in my pocket several times with earphones case. Hotel has several bars/restoraunts, including one in the inner garden. And meeting areas for conferences.
