We stayed here the nights before and after the total solar eclipse. The supplied a pair of lenses for the event. Everyone was very accommodating and friendly. The breakfasts were good, too.
The hotel was great for our little family hop. We visited Muskingham college and this spot was conveniently close to the school. The lady at the front desk was very accomodating and friendly. Our room was clean and tidy and the heater worked well, the water got hot and the bed linens were fresh. Thats pretty much all you need to sleep for a night. Thanks!!
I few issues with the room…the safe was just the back part as the entire front part not on the wall, the toilet you had to flush 3 times before it would flush, the tub had no drain plug stopper, turned the tv on and it wouldn’t shut off and tried plugging my phone charger into the wall and it fell back out of the plug onto the floor. I just dealt with everything and didn’t say anything to the hotel.

The attitude of the manager at the front desk was bad compared with all other Hyatt we stayed. The room we booked included the breakfast, but manager denied it even after we showed him the booking records, what is more, he almost got away with double charging the room… fortunately, I was able to check the credit card records before leaving the hotel and caught the charge before leaving…. I felt very sorry for this Hyatt hotel, it is beautiful, full of history, in a right downtown location, but I noticed the occupancy is not a very good, the lobby and hallway are very empty, maybe there’s something to do with this Manager…. with his attitude, I could not be the only customer who left the hotel with such unbelievable impression…..
It was quiet and a good size room.
The AC kept turning off which disrupted my sleep. It was humid in the room so I woke up three different times throughout the night. This was extremely disappointing because I had exam in the morning.
The pots had some food residue.
The stopper for the tub did not work.

VVieraskäyttäjäThis hotel is big one side is super 8 and the other side is the Baymont it's all connected into one big building so it's like a big maze that you have to walk through to get to your rooms or take the elevator I like that there are several different entrants and exits in this building so if you're not parked directly on one side and have to park say in the back you're able to go right out the back check in and check out process was fairly simple very polite for the couple of front desk people that we had dealt with the beds we're big and fairly comfortable so no complaints really in that aspect I like the extra space in our rooms and I really like the cabinetry so you can definitely put your luggage away or if you want to put your clothes in the drawers or closet so that way you don't have your stuff on your way it definitely gives you that option to do so. Each time I've stayed here our rooms came equipped with a mini fridge and microwave and a coffee maker even though we didn't use the coffee maker so I can't really give you a good review on that aspect only as per the fact that there was one located and ours had its own little coffee station type nook in the wall which was cute bathroom was spacious I don't believe the hair dryer worked in one of our rooms or was maybe not even there I'm not sure I can't remember the hotel was fairly clean for the most part I didn't have any issues with any of my rooms didn't see any noticeable damage all in all I'd say this hotel is definitely an 8 out of 10 didn't have a pool and if it did it was definitely not in order I don't think the workout room or anything like that was working either if they did have one so I was just a basic stay sleep and do what you got to do you are in a cul-de-sac so to speak almost like an industrial cul-de-sac but it's a hotel called a sex so you're right off the highway which is a plus and convenient down that called a sac road there are a couple restaurants or eateries nearby so even in walking distance however if you wanted something other than the handful of options that were down in the hotel cul-de-sac you could drive and wouldn't take you more than maybe 7:00 to 12 minutes tops to get to the closest Royal area to be able to go to any gas stations convenience stores or any other eateries so location was definitely a plus for this Hotel! I would recommend this hotel to anybody traveling maybe for business or just need a quick stay they don't have continental breakfast I believe what it's called as a complimentary breakfast where you just get two little choices of juice that tasted a little odd to me or watered down out of a machine I think they gave you like a banana and an orange or something in a fruit basket to choose from a bagel maybe some bread to toast or something or a pastry of some sort and there was two options of cereal I believe so nothing fancy nothing great breakfast really wasn't that fantastic I would recommend that the Baymont and the super 8 since they are joined together should really think about upgrading their breakfast to something a little bit better like the waffle maker you know maybe something hot I better selections and I could turn my review into at least a 9 out of 10 if not a 10 out of 10 because honestly having that breakfast makes the hotel sometimes and being a conjoined Hotel there should be no reason why they can't afford to throw in since they both share the same lobby slash diner area!
VVieraskäyttäjäDo NOT stay at this hotel unless you can survive in a room that is not at all soundproof! I booked a queen suite with separate sitting room for my daughter and I. We wanted a quiet, relaxing place to stay for a 3 day weekend and the reviews for this place were excellent.
First let me list the nice things about the property:
1. It is a full blown conference center with a huge, well maintained and manicured landscape.
2. The outdoor spaces are lovely, including the outdoor pool area.
3. The location is very close to Columbus and to the uber wealthy city of Powell.
4. A gorgeous county park with loads of picnic areas and walking trails is located directly across the street from the conference center.
Now for the negatives:
1. No soundproofing!!! We could hear every word of conversations that took place in the room next door. But the most disturbing thing is that we couldn’t sleep because of noise from the room overhead. My daughter contacted the front desk in the early evening of our first night’s stay asking them to call the guests above us with a “gentle reminder” to avoid heavy walking. She was told that the request could not be made until after the 10 pm quiet time. We had a brown noise machine running at top volume for the entire night, but even that didn’t block the heavy footfalls from above. The constant sound of people walking (it sounded like elephants) continued the next morning which forced us out of our room. (We payed extra for a suite with a separate sitting area so that we could relax outside of the bedroom, but couldn’t take advantage of it because of the noise). My daughter ended up sleeping on a couch at a friend’s house the second night because she was so sleep deprived. However, I returned to the hotel which was a huge mistake! When I turned out the lights at 11 pm, things were quiet, but at 11:30 pm the stomping family returned. The noise of the footfalls and then squeaking floors woke me up at 11:30 pm, 3:30 am and 5:45 am. I finally got out of bed at 6 am, walked to the lobby in my pajamas, and told the staff that I couldn’t stay in this place another night. I must have looked a fright, because the agent immediately canceled the final night of our reservation with no questions asked. Just to be clear, I don’t think that the family above us was intentionally loud. I think that they had absolutely no idea that their movements were creating such a disturbance.
2. Despite the fact that the lovely county park is directly across the street, it’s incredibly difficult to access the park entrance as a pedestrian. There is a single pedestrian crosswalk at the southwest corner of the conference center, but there are no sidewalks that connect to the crosswalk. Walkers are forced to either walk along a very busy road with no shoulder, or walk on the grass for about 1/2 mile to get from the hotel parking lot to the crosswalk. I find it incredibly surprising that Nationwide didn’t consider putting in sidewalks to make access to the park more accessible and safe for pedestrians.
3. Be forewarned that the conference center includes facilities that cater to weddings, so if you stay here on a weekend, be prepared for lots of outdoor evening activities.
No one should have to pay $200/night to stay in a room that isn’t conducive to sleep!!!
VVieraskäyttäjäOur stay at The Lodge was nice. There were a few little things that I questioned, but that honestly is normal & did not really effect our stay. Everything in the lodge was clean & I do not know what wonderful smell they are pumping through the building... but walking into the lobby was wonderful!
The decor was nicely decked out in holiday cheer! The Christmas Trees were beautiful too. We booked a King Suite, as the pic on Trip.com showed a jacuzzi tub in the suite. This is not the case. In fact, The staff at the front desk said they have not had jacuzzi tubs in the rooms for over 8 years. That was a disappointment...
And King suites do not have a balcony, but Queen suites do have a balcony with sliding doors! They front desk did not offer to help with that misunderstanding, as offering a ”Fireplace room” (they said the jacuzzi rooms now had fireplaces after the removal of said tubs??... but no fireplace in my suite) or offering anything else... probably because I booked thru a third party(trip.com). It was definitely a spacious room, but a little overly ”roomy” with just a king bed, 2 nightstands,the entertainment/dresser, completely with a fridge in the cabinet, a very small ”dining table”, a glass coffee table & a pull out couch. The thermostat was set at a scorching 75 degrees, which I immediately turned down. At first, I figured it was just a fluke, but the power did go out one evening & sure enough, when the power was restored the thermostat reset to 75 again! We dined at the bar on a few occasions, which was nice & staffed ok, not the latest hours for a bar. The food is good & of course a little pricey. I'm sure there is a lot more to do during the nicer seasons... the answer for everything it seemed was ”it is the off season”.
Overall, it was a nice place to stay in wine country & probably will return next year.
VVieraskäyttäjäTraveling for a death in the family, upon our arrival, which was a little bit past the 3:00PM check in we were informed they were short staffed in housekeeping and a room wasn't yet available and if we were OK with a handicap room, I had no problem because I am disabled . No biggie, we went out for dinner. The problem was we didn't receive a phone call until after 6PM, 3 hours past the time that you could check in and our room was a standard room, clearly not to aid in handicapped people . Had there been a viewing service that evening, it would of been an major issue because we had to put our belongings in another family members room. We looked past that. When we finally got in our room there was like 2 pieces of toilet paper on the roll with no extra rolls available. Again, no biggie, went to the front desk and they took care of it quickly. Day of the funeral, go to take a shower, no body wash. Again, front desk was notified and they took care of it. Our final night, I was woken up by a clock alarm coming from another room that woke me up way to early than the time I had my own alarm set. I wasn't about to go and try to locate this mysterious alarm and have it shut off, but the alarm rang well over 15 to 20 mins. The hot tub was nice to relax, but sand was on the bottom of it, and the pool was extremely cold to me.
I will say the staff that was on sight were very friendly and helpful to the best of their ability considering their lack of people to do required jobs and I did appreciate there was parking for Veterans. If I were traveling just with my wife and children I would of opted for a different hotel, but seeing how this was the location my family decided for all of us to go so we could be together in our time of mourning, it is what it is. I will not be looking into this chain of hotels for a future travel plans.

I arrived at the hotel Sunday 01 march around 12:30 PM and politely asked if early check-in was possible. The two women working at the reception told me that no rooms were available until 4:00 PM. I said that was fine and that I would wait in the lobby.
However, while I was waiting, several other guests arrived and they were checked in immediately. It was very clear that rooms were available, which made the situation feel unfair.
Later, I approached the desk again with the same guests who were checking in and said that I had a reservation for today. The receptionist acted as if nothing had happened and looked visibly annoyed.
During check-in, she tried to charge my card again for the reservation, even though my booking had already been fully paid online. When I saw the amount and asked what it was for, she could not clearly explain it. I had to tell her again that the reservation was already paid.
Both receptionists then started checking the system and appeared irritated and nervous in front of other guests. Eventually they explained that there was a security deposit of $50 per day, which I completely understood and agreed with.
However, they attempted to charge the wrong amount again, and I had to question it once more before they finally corrected the charge to the proper deposit amount.
Overall, the situation was extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional. First I was told to wait until 4 PM while other guests were checked in, and then I had to deal with confusion about charges that should have been clear from the beginning.
The hotel facilities are good, but the front desk service was very disappointing and needs improvement.

VVieraskäyttäjäThis hotel is aging, but the location is amazing! We traveled to Cleveland for my son's birthday trip to a Cavs game. Upon arrival, the valet was extremely congested. No one came out to welcome us or anything so I thought all the valet were out parking cars. Instead, three of them were inside, laughing and talking. There was no mention of cost anywhere, so I was very surprised at the $50/day charge upon checkout. Considering it took them an hour to bring my car back to me upon check out, I would say that charge is VERY exaggerated. When we went to check in, I was surprised that they needed a credit card to hold $200 on. I prepaid and expected they would need a card on file, not to hold funds. Anyway, our first room seemed nice. It had an amazing view of Rocket Arena. But, I decided to rest a minute and when I looked at the ceiling, it was falling apart!! This was something I decided to give a pass on, considering the age of the building. However, when I got up to shower and there was a huge clump of long brown hair on the wall, that was too much for me. I went to the front desk and they were very nice about the issue and quickly moved us to another room. The rooms are basic. There is an armoire with an iron, two bottles of water, a coffee maker and coffee and a mini fridge. The televisions in the rooms are very large, that was nice. Check out was easy, just a lobby full of people all waiting for their cars to show up! The only other thing I can say is that I paid for a supreme room through Trip and was only given a standard room. So, there must be a miscommunication between Trip and the hotels. Be wary...
VVieraskäyttäjäThe location was primo right off Interstate 71, it was very easy to find. Cleanliness was good. I think this was a huge conference center at one time , that has seen better days. There is a large indoor pool, and large restaraunt that was not in use (the restauranut ). The indoor garden space must have been fantastic but is in need of severe care. Large dead plants, extremely hot and humid from the pool I guess. The hotel also appears very dark, I can only guess how much it would cost to air condition and upkeep the place. Service was okay, it was a man who was just okay as compared to the morning person who was happy and upbeat. I did see the man made the huge effort to help with card keys that did not work, etc. The room was fine except for the extremely loud A/C unit. There was no hair dryer in the bathroom. The toilet ocasionnally continued to run which I manually fixed. Enough towels and such but could have used more bar soap. The TV was one of the easiest to use for me. The advertised continental breakfast consisted of dry cereal for the kids, milk and yogurt in the fridge, weak coffee, apple juice, fresh fruit, and oatmeal to mix yourself. Needed more hot water to use. Also needed a carafe of decaf coffee. The outside had parking spots for hundreds. Kept up area pretty well. Bed was comfortable, and I love the pillows, they were just right. I think all the carpets in the place need steam cleaning, they did not smell but they were very dark. Again, this place needs a big infusion of cash and some personnel need to return to hospitality management school.

Although the parking was not right on the property it was in a covered parking lot within a short walk to the hotel and the cost was included in our stay ! The front lobby looked rather new and was clean and shiny. Front desk staff was welcoming, friendly and helpful. Hotel room was very clean and accommodating for 2 of us and came with the amenities you would generally expect. We had a king bed and it was comfortable, although the pillows were rather soft and despite both of us having 2 pillows each we could have used 1 or 2 more to be more comfortable.
The included breakfast buffet was well done with a good variety of choices for us as we eat a carnivore diet. The coffee was a good as you would get at Starbucks. I don't know her name but the staff member who kept the buffet full was definitely one of the hardest working individuals I have seen. She was friendly, accommodating and exceptional and the hotel should award her appropriately.
The only negative to our stay was that on the 2nd day of being there we returned later in the day after sightseeing and our room had not been serviced by housekeeping. I called the front desk and the staff person who had checked us in informed me that they had forgotten to tell us that housekeeping is only every other day. Staff member did provide us with additional towels however it would have been nice to have the bed turned down and used towels taken away.
