Our stay at InterContinental Tangshan was a perfect blend of luxury and comfort. Our third stay (the same room) here, still great but I noticed some downgrades. First they changed the toiletries, before they used l'occitane now they use an unknown for me brand. The second thing - there was no coffee machine in the room like it was before. I asked the manager and they brought it. The rest is just perfect.

My initial room seemed to not be incorrect, they immediately upgraded my room. Then I lost my AirPods (for the second time when staying at this hotel) both times a lovey lady named Cathy made sure I got them back, even contacting the rail company and getting them from the train. Goods great, pool is awesome. Best place to stay when visiting Tangshan and price is great

Nice stay for 1 night in Chengde. Great service, free parking lots, friendly and helpful staff. Room, very clean, bright with a grand view to the river. Bathroom divided in tube/shower, toilet room and make-up space. Breakfast with a great choice of Chinese food. Just a few things related with international breakfast. The hotel is located not directly to many shops and restaurants. We took a taxi to the recommended restaurants and scenic places.

MMichael Exploring China and BeyondWe visit the Four Points by Sheraton, in Gu'an Langfang often. This was a particularly special visit, as there were numerous events to celebrate. Namely ”Mid Autumn Festival”, ”National Day” and my Birthday coincided during this period. This Hotel is without a doubt the best Hotel, not only in Gu'an, but in Langfang as well. The ”Eatery Restaurant”, plays a vital role in the success of this Hotel. I often say this when visiting a great Hotel or Restaurant, it's the ”Team”, whom makes the establishment a success. The ”New” pastry cheff, is truly a great asset to the Restaurant and Hotel. His pastries are of exceptional standard, and the variety is huge ”unlike the sister Hotel's Restaurant, The Sheraton”, whom barely have any pastries or desert on offer. Without the right team in place, the business can and will, never be truly successful. Especially, in the current highly competitive market. As a former ”Regional Retail Manager”, with over 15 years of Management experience, I can't help but observe and analyze certain businesses. Being University Qualified in ”Customer Relationship Management” and ”Retail Management”, I appreciate High levels of Customer service. The success of this Hotel and Restaurant, lies in it's team, and their hard work and dedication. True ”Managers”, lead from the front, and set an example to their staff. As the case with ”Samuel” the General Manager, whom always assists his team on the floor. The same can be said for ”Marcus” the Restaurant Manager, whom is always ”hands on” and working hard on the floor. Such ”leadership” sets the tone, for a great team as it will filter down to staff on all levels. Special thanks to ”Lydia” the Office Manager, for always being willing to assist in ensuring that guests receive the absolute best, during their stay. Lydia is always courteous and professional. As always, ”Marcus” the Restaurant Manager, treated us with extreme courtesy and hospitality. We appreciate your hospitality Marcus, thank you. Thank you to ”Molly” from the Restaurant, whom assisted us with with room service, as well as in the Restaurant. It's also note worthy to mention, that it's not only the ”Management Team”, whom deserve praise. As all team members provided excellent service, during our stay. Thank you to ”Housekeeping”, for friendly and prompt service. The team at the ”Swimming Pool”, also provided friendly and prompt service, during our stay, thank you for that. We also appreciated the friendly and professional service, received from the following Restaurant staff: Sam, Peter and Joe. Perhaps, ”Marriott” should consider, having this Hotel's ”sister” Hotel, ”The Sheraton, Chaobai River Hotel's Management and Team, learn about ”Hospitality and Service”, from this Hotel ”Four Points by Sheraton, Gu'an Langfang”. As in my opinion, the ”The Sheraton, Chaobai River Hotel's Management” is not on standard. The facilities at the Four Points by Sheraton, Gu'an, Lanfang, are on International standard. We always enjoy the Swimming Pool, Lobby Lounge and Outdoor Deck, during our stay. The ”Alpacas” are truly amazing creatures and are well taken care of. They truly make guests' stay, more enjoyable. We can highly recommend the Four Points by Sheraton, Gu'an Langfang, to all visitors, ”Foreign, and Domestic”. This is still our favorite destination, in Gu'an / Langfang and surrounding areas. We look forward to our next stay, see you soon.

KKellyC_**Hotel Review: Aesthetic Excellence Overshadowed by Comfort Failures** Our recent stay at this supposedly 5-star hotel left us with mixed feelings. While the hotel clearly invested heavily in aesthetics, creating a visually stunning environment that looks fantastic in photos, the design seemed to prioritize form over function, ultimately compromising our comfort. Sadly, this became a deal-breaker for us. The most glaring issue was the room's ventilation and temperature control—or lack thereof. We visited in early March, and the entire building was excessively heated. Despite being from a tropical country and accustomed to warm weather, I found myself sweating in shorts and a singlet. The staff, though polite and eager to help, seemed powerless to address the issue. They provided us with a small portable AC unit, which was better than nothing, but it was clear from their demeanor that this was a recurring problem for guests. Sleeping was a nightmare. The only way to cool the room slightly was to keep the windows open, but this meant having the blinds and curtains up, allowing outside noise and light to flood in. The choice was between sleeping in a sauna-like environment or enduring the disturbances from outside. Needless to say, we had a terrible night's sleep and were relieved to check out after just one night. On a positive note, the service was impeccable. The staff truly deserve recognition for their efforts to assist guests despite the limitations they faced. The breakfast spread was also a highlight—delicious, varied, and reasonably priced, especially if you inform them in advance about adding breakfast to your stay. The room amenities were top-notch, and the spaciousness of the room added to the overall sense of luxury. We got a family suite which was plenty spacious and came with 2 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 bathtubs and a living area. However, these positives couldn’t outweigh the discomfort caused by the poor temperature regulation. During our trip, we stayed in four different cities across China, and this was the only hotel that lacked proper air conditioning and heating controls. For a 5-star establishment, this is a significant oversight. In conclusion, while the hotel excels in aesthetics, service, and amenities, the lack of a well-thought-out solution for room temperature is a major drawback. Management needs to address this issue with a long-term fix. After all, no matter how beautiful a hotel looks, it’s hard to appreciate it when you can’t get a good night’s rest.

And long waiting at the coffee machine, because there is just one. Unfortunately I had a noisy neighbour and didn’t sleep well due to that, but the bed was comfortable

The hotel staff were incredibly supportive, flexible, and always willing to help. They truly went the extra mile to accommodate our requests and assist us with every question that came up during our stay. We booked a standard apartment suite in the South Wing and a deluxe mountain-view room in the main building, and both were very clean, comfortable, spacious, and well-equipped. Everything was thoughtfully prepared, making our stay relaxing and enjoyable. The breakfast was very good, with a nice variety, and having it included for several people was very convenient. The ski package was perfectly organized — ski passes, fast-track access, early cable car boarding, transfers from Taizicheng High-Speed Railway Station, and additional activities like yoga and Pilates made the whole experience smooth and stress-free. As foreigners, we really appreciated how easy and welcoming everything felt. Thanks to the hotel team, skiing in China left us with a very positive and memorable impression. The location is excellent for skiing, and the mountain views are beautiful. Overall, the atmosphere was warm, professional, and friendly — we truly felt taken care of. We would definitely come back and highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning a ski trip or a comfortable stay in the area.

QQueenNatWooThere were good things and bad things for this weekend trip. The bad things did not ruin the trip and we still have a great time. First, the parking here is so horrible. We drove around a few times to find a spot to oark. We couldn’t drive up to check-in. The parking garage was full and asking the guard about where to park he said the lot and garage were at capacity. We arrived well after the checkin time but our room was not ready and were still being cleaned. It took 4 people to check us in but they eventually got it sorted but this was an issue that was not in their control. They made the process very smooth and stored our luggage as we waited in the lobby. They have Starbucks” in the lobby and we waited for the rooms. The rooms were amazing and had that old world few feel to them. The beds were comfortable and the suites were very spacious. We had both a 1 bedroom suite and an executive suite. The breakfast did not live up to expectations they were slow to refill juices and left with a feeling of being mediocre. Steamed buns were soggy. We ordered food from Delivery and ate dinner out.

VVieraskäyttäjäThis is an excellent hotel if you are interested in skiing at the Cuiyuanshan Galaxy Ski resort. The hotel is right at the base of the ski lifts. The area around the hotel has a bit of a ski village, but it was not very extensive, which is why I rated the location as 'good' instead of 'excellent.' The room and facilities at the hotel were excellent. The room itself was much larger than we expected and had a nice, large balcony overlooking the ski runs and the lake next to the hotel. The hotel has a nice gym and though I didn't see this anywhere in their amenities description, they have a collection of three hot-tub pools on the top floor. When we went, nobody was there, so it seems this might not be known by many guests. If you don't have much luggage, the hotel is an easy 15-20 minute walk from the Chongli Railway Station. You can actually see the hotel sign at the top of the hotel when you exit the station. Breakfast buffet was very good with a good mixture of Chinese and Western Breakfast foods available. English was also spoken by many of the staff throughout the hotel.
