I was quite surprised that our room was ready and allowed us to check in early. This is definitely a plus point as it gave us time to rest especially travelling up from Taipei with 2 kids with us.
Overall, Im quite pleased with everything provided during the stay. Thank you!
The hotel is the nearest one to Taoyuan airport . Can be accessed easily with the airport train or taxi. Shuttle bus is also available which makes it convenient to move around. If returning back to airport make sure to reserve shuttle service seats on your designated schedules. If taxi is needed give at least 10 mins waiting time ;) nice hotel and good space

Updates: I had a great stay at Fullon Hotel Hualien. The room was spacious, comfortable, and has awesome view of the harbor. The location is ideal for me—close to the coast, at the start of the bike trail, and in a peaceful area. I loved being able to borrow a bike from the hotel, making it easy to explore the bike-friendly town.
The staff was friendly and attentive. Even those who didn’t speak English used Google Translate to communicate, which I appreciated. The only downside was difficulty reaching the hotel before my arrival to confirm the station pick-up, which wasn’t sorted out and confirmed until the day before I arrived.
Overall, a wonderful experience, and I highly recommend this hotel. Most likely will stay here again next time I'm in Hualien. Hopefully, I can reach them easier next time.

2025/01/13: Impossible to contact as a foreign visitor. I tried to send messages to the hotel via both email and LINE that were listed on their website since I don't live in TW. I tried to arrange for their pick up service from Hualien Station which is included with my stay. I have sent my inquiry for the details. I finally managed to get messages back one time via LINE after a day with a website that's not in English and a picture showing only a phone number for booking. At least the hotel didn't ask me to do international phone call and finally said I can request the booking with them via the LINE channel. So I sent the booking request with details. That was 3 days ago. And I have not received any message back or heard a peep from them. So I assume the service is still not booked.
Not that the free ride matters since I should be able to get a cab easily, but the service, especially what's promise and the helpfulness of the staff, is quite underwhelming and on the side of not hospitable.
For the same trip, I also had to reach out to Tango Hotel Taipei. They were very helpful with my inquiry and very fast.
Hopefully the stay is nice. I'll come back to update my review then.

Everything was very good. Staffs are kind and warm welcoming. There is free shuttle bus service from kaoshung to hotel, it’s very convenient. A bar located on the beach. Grab some beer at night with good vibe. It’s perfect!
Great breakfast, like many other guests have commented, not a huge variety but they have all the necessary ingredients for a filling breakfast buffet and all food taste good!
Swimming pool and gym are both comfortable and huge
The only problem is it isn’t too close to the metro but I come here for business trip so it’s fine for me
Room Quality: The room was newly renovated, which was a pleasant surprise. It felt modern and comfortable.
Common Areas: Unfortunately, the main areas of the hotel are quite dated. They could use some updates to match the quality of the rooms.
Check-In/Check-Out Policies: I found the policies regarding check-in and check-out to be very strict. It can be inconvenient for guests with varying travel schedules.
Location Convenience: One of the best features is the convenience store, supermarket, and several restaurants located downstairs.
Overall, while the room was great and the location convenient, the outdated common areas and strict policies were drawbacks.
A Fantastic Stay at the Grand Forward Hotel
My family and I had a wonderful three-night stay at the Grand Forward Hotel. Travelling with two grandchildren, we booked a connecting room, which was perfect for us. The rooms were spacious and exceptionally clean, with plenty of space to comfortably set up a baby cot.
A huge plus was being able to borrow a stroller from the hotel, as we had forgotten ours. While this was a lifesaver, we'd recommend the hotel consider replacing it soon, as the one we used was quite worn out. Having a new, well-maintained stroller would be a great appreciated item for families.
The hotel staff were consistently friendly and helpful, and we were very impressed with the breakfast, which offered a great variety of delicious options. The hotel's location is another major highlight—it's incredibly convenient, with train stations, restaurants, and shops all within easy walking distance.
Overall, we had a fantastic experience. I would highly recommend the Grand Forward Hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay with their family.

Probably one of the best hotel! Huge and clean room with great view.Though the staff wasn’t aware that I’ve paid for two rooms instead of one, but managed to settle this before our arrival. Though the service during breakfast service could be improved, the waitress didn’t specify which seats were assigned to us and we had to move to another seats halfway eating.
Pros: --hotel with onsen and gym (but only some rooms include free use. Otherwise wise need to pay)
--connected to a mall, although not a big one but enough for food and some shopping
--15mins bus ride to mitsui outlet where there are more food choices and shopping.
--near airport, only 20 mins by mrt.
Cons:
--45mins to taipei centre, where the buzz is.
--hotel staff was nice to pack breakfast for us as we have early flights. But the paper bag has no handles. So quite a handful as we need to manage luggage and handcarry at the same time
--taxi to airport, although near, is NT800 and took 30mins

Upon arrival, we followed the signage pasted on a pillar that directed guests to a staircase entrance. However, when we reached that entrance, we were shocked to find the door marked with the sign “来宾止步” (“Guests Stop Here”). When we raised this with your staff, we were told that this entrance has not been in use since the COVID-19 period. While we understand that certain operations may have changed during the pandemic, COVID-19 restrictions have ended for more than two years. If the primary entrance has been permanently closed, why has no corrective action been taken and the misleading signage still left there? Carrying heavy luggage up and down a sloped path unnecessarily was frustrating and avoidable.
2. No Staff Assistance or Clear Signage at the New Entrance
When we finally located the new entrance, there were no staff members on standby to assist us, nor was there any clear external signage indicating that this was the correct way to access the lobby. The explanation given later was that all staff were away assisting with parking which is not acceptable. At least one person should have been assigned to remain at the entrance, or the last person leaving should have arranged for another colleague to cover the position. In addition, the Operations Director mentioned that there is signage inside the new entrance directing guests to take the elevator to the lobby. However, this logic is flawed. If guests cannot locate the correct entrance in the first place, how could they possibly see a sign placed inside?
3. Poorly Trained and Unprofessional Front Desk Behavior
After struggling outside, we called the number listed on Google. Only then did someone finally come out and lead us in. By that time, we were exhausted and upset. When we confronted the front desk staff about why they ignored us, despite us clearly visible outside the “来宾止步” glass door, making eye contact and knocking for help, but they claimed they “did not see us.” This excuse was clearly untrue, as we observed them looking in our direction. Even more disappointing, none of the front desk staff offered an apology even until we requested to speak to the Operations Director and asked him to review the CCTV footage. After reviewing the footage, the Operations Director confirmed that the front desk had not been alert and apologized on their behalf. However, he did not acknowledge that the front desk’s attitude and lack of sincerity were also serious problems. Being “not alert enough” and showing no sense of apology or empathy are two entirely different issues.
As an international hotel, the front desk is the first impression of your service. Regardless of the quality of your facilities, this poor experience completely overshadowed the positive aspects of our stay. It also severely damages the reputation of Kagaya Group — a brand that has long been admired for its exemplary Japanese hospitality and politeness. Although we appreciate the Operations Director’s effort to make amends by offering us a meal and gifts (which we declined), it remains undeniable that this incident reflects a failure in staff training and management oversight.
We hope that management will seriously review this incident, especially the issues of:
- Inadequate and misleading signage at the entrance
- Lack of staff presence and assistance upon guest arrival
- Poor front desk awareness and unprofessional behavior
We trust that Kagaya Group will uphold its proud tradition of service by addressing these problems promptly and ensuring no other guests experience such treatment in the future.

the first room wasn't ideal as the room has smoke smell and I requested to change room which they offered and it was great.
Room has good sound proofing windows
second room I stayed at #2003 is near lift has updated modern look.
they have morning shuttle to science park 8am, 8.30am, 9am which is great.
they have evening shuttle to Big City mall which is also a ++
otherwise would have to spend 250 NTD for taxi which is expensive.

JJgoh81Firstly, the hotel management has strong empathy allowing me to cancel 1 night last minute due to family issues that I have to check out 1 day earlier.
But to my surprise, Check in timing is surprisingly at 4pm.
Gym facilities is under renovation but did not prior inform the guest upon check in.
On Trip.com, stated open 2023 which is very misleading that the hotel was newly renovated or newly built. But the rooms are old but luckily not rundown and rooms are clean.

The highlight for us was the tatami-style bed in the room. It’s low to the ground, which made it absolutely perfect for our toddler and 1-year-old. We didn’t have to worry about them rolling off the bed, and it even doubled as a safe, spacious play area during the day. The kids loved crawling and jumping around, and we parents could relax knowing they were safe.
The private hot spring in our room was the best part of the stay. After a long day of traveling and exploring, being able to soak in the hot spring was exactly what we needed. It was clean, spacious, and perfect for unwinding while the kids napped or played.
Orient Luxury Hotel in Jiaoxi is a fantastic choice for families, especially those with young kids. The tatami-style beds, private hot spring, and thoughtful service made our stay both relaxing and enjoyable. If you’re looking for a comfortable, family-friendly hotel in Yilan, this is definitely a great option.
We left feeling refreshed and can’t wait to come back for another visit!
The grandparents especially loved it—it was so convenient for them to enjoy the hot spring without having to leave the room. It really helped us recharge for the next day!
The breakfast buffet was great! There was a good mix of Western and local ********* dishes, and everything was fresh and delicious. The kids enjoyed the pancakes and fruit, while the grandparents appreciated the traditional congee and hot tea.

Great location next to Shandao temple MRT and within walking distance to Taipei station, nice restaurants, cafes and the famed Fuhang soy milk. I also enjoyed the excellent lunch buffer at the hotel restaurant Kitchen 12 at incredibly reasonable price. But please note that Marriott Bonvoy platinum elite or higher tier members do not receive the usual executive lounge access or free breakfast if you book via Trip.com (you need to book directly with Marriott to enjoy the benefits).

Whether it's the concierge employees at level 1, or the check-in staff at level 20, or the breakfast staff, everyone is polite and helpful. Fantastic service and facilities. Breakfast is amazing.
