"Having watched the TV programme with the Brennan Brothers when the hotel opened I was looking forward to having lunch there with my friend on Saturday 11th of April.However I was sorely disappointed with the food. I had chosen the roast of the day which happened to be pork with red cabbage. After waiting for 30 minutes the dish eventually arrived - two dried out slices of pork on top of a mound of mash, swimming in a pool of gravy. There was a dried out rim on the plate as if it had been sitting on a counter top for some time. It looked disgusting. I sent it back and just ordered a toasted sandwich instead. I enclose a photo of my meal"

"Our stay at Ballygarry Estate Cabins was truly wonderful. The staff were exceptional- very approachable, friendly, and always willing to help. From the receptionists to the managers, and the restaurant and bar staff, everyone made us feel welcome and well looked after. Special mentions to two managers; the one who welcomed us when we arrived and drove us to the cabin and "TJ" (I think), who when we checked out, we simply asked if we could refill our water bottles, but instead he generously gifted us two beautiful water bottles. It was such a thoughtful gesture and we really appreciated his kindness. The cabins themselves are just a couple of minutes’ walk from the main hotel and are incredibly well designed. You can really tell that they’ve thought about every little detail of what guests might need. There were welcome drinks and crisps waiting for us, along with coffee and tea facilities, and even umbrellas—very practical considering the Irish weather! Another great touch is that the hotel offers transfers between the main building and the cabins if you prefer not to walk, uthey’re only a call away. Everything about the stay made it easy for us to relax and disconnect from the busy world most of us are caught up in. It was a lovely and sweet getaway for us, and we would absolutely recommend it. We would love to come back again, and next time we’ll definitely book well in advance so we can also try the massages and treatments. Belle & Ken"

"We went to The James for food and ended up in the restaurant in the basement. Lovely decor. Food was very poor and over priced. We were a party of three and the pasta was not al dente but just not cooked properly. The Eton Mess must have been prepared several hours earlier and was untouchable. During the entire time we were there, we were never asked if our food was ok. The waitress clearly saw that the Eton Mess was untouched but still never asked if there was something wrong. When it came to paying the bill and when we told the server about the pasta and dessert, we were advised we should have said earlier. We would have told them, if someone tended to our table during the meal. The three of us, who all live around the Tralee area, agreed we will not go back there in a hurry. Very disappointing, poor food at an expensive price."
